La ironia de Pere Calders

Treball de recerca realitzat per alumnes d’ensenyament secundari i guardonat amb un Premi CIRIT per fomentar l'esperit científic del Jovent l’any 2010. El treball te com objectiu reivindicar la complexitat de l'obra de Calders defugint la simplificació amb què és generalment percebuda. Calders va més enllà de l'humor amable i la llengua que utilitza és rica en recursos poètics. La ironia, més que un recurs, és el tot, el vehicle d'expressió de la cosmovisió de l'autor.

El vocabulari de l'agricultura a Sant Pere Pescador

Treball de recerca realitzat per alumnes d’ensenyament secundari i guardonat amb un Premi CIRIT per fomentar l'esperit científic del Jovent l’any 2010. L’objectiu bàsic ha estat elaborar una obra lexicogràfica del vocabulari de l'agricultura de Sant Pere Pescador. Pel que fa al marc teòric del treball, calia presentar la disciplina de la lexicografia; determinar les característiques generals de les obres lexicogràfiques; i analitzar les característiques de tres obres lexicogràfiques concretes per decidir, finalment, quines característiques tindria el vocabulari. Pel que fa al marc pràctic, calia recollir unitats lèxiques de l'àmbit agrícola, i finalment, elaborar una obra lexicogràfica amb tot el vocabulari recollit. Els objectius tant teòrics com pràctics s'han assolit ja que amb aquest treball de recerca s'ha aconseguit un bon coneixement de la lexicografia, s'han analitzat les característiques generals de les obres lexicogràfiques i s'ha elaborat un vocabulari.

Railroad Abandonment, Revised March, 23, 1997

Abandonment and discontinuance of railroad service is allowed by federal law which permits a carrier to end its obligation to provide common carrier service over a particular rail line. Although a number of specific reasons may be given for the abandonment, it is generally based on economic factors. This booklet is intended to provide information about the abandonment process and some guidance concerning how to prepare for an abandonment. This information is based on rules established by the Interstate Commerce Commission Termination Act of 1995, the Surface Transportation Board (successor to the former Interstate Commerce Commission), and the Staggers Rail Act of 1980, and the policies and procedures of the Iowa Department of Transportation.
