Nominado al Óscar como Mejor Cortometraje Documental (http://dorothyfadiman.com/) Esta obra muestra las consecuencias físicas, emocionales y legales que acarreó la penalización del aborto en Estados Unidos. Los testimonios presentados, especialmente conmovedores, cuentan la historia de mujeres desesperadas y de quienes intentaron ayudarlas, y revelan la tragedia brutal así como el valor y heroísmo que surgieron durante esta época difícil.

El presente documento de trabajo de la Iniciativa del Caribe Sobre Aborto y Anticoncepción pretende: documentar las leyes de aborto en varios países caribeños no independientes e independientes; Examinar la relación entre las leyes de aborto (de jure) y sus aplicaciones (de facto); Analizar la continua influencia del derecho colonial en la política y práctica del aborto en el Caribe; Documentar los patrones migratorios de poblaciones caribeñas, con el propósito de asegurar servicios de aborto; Diseñar una metodología adecuada para recabar la información arriba mencionada en contextos criminales, así como legales.

The article discusses the memories and the history stored in the family archive of Francis Mouro, migrant in Rio de Janeiro, in the first half of the twentieth century. The Mouro family, since the nineteenth century, decided to adopt Brazil as preferred destination. However, like so many Galician families also choose other destinations, moving to Portugal, Uruguay and Argentina. Through letters and personal documents preserved by the immigrant family is possible to reconstruct the migratory chains formed over more than half a century, the solidarity networks and migration of a city of intense immigration to Rio de Janeiro, as the galego city Santa Comba
