El trabajo presentado en esta comunicación se enmarca en un proyecto financiado por la Secretaría de Estado de Universidades, Ministerio de Educación Cultura y Deporte en su Programa de Estudios y Análisis, mejora de la calidad de la enseñanza superior y de la actividad del profesorado universitario en el Eje de Nuevos avances y determinación del impacto de las misiones universitarias, Modalidad de Trabajos de análisis, lideradopor la Universitat Pompeu Fabra y en el que participan docentes de las universidades de Valladolid, Cádiz, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Sevilla, Autónoma de Barcelona, Carlos III de Madrid y Universidat Oberta de Catalunya.En el proyecto se ha realizado un trabajo de análisis de las prácticas programadas en las distintas universidades para velar por la calidad de los trabajos fin de grado, actualmente proyectos fin carrera. Se han recopilado diferentes procedimientos de evaluación llevados a cabo en diferentes Universidades que van desde plantillas de verificación para los tribunales de los proyectos a guías de procedimiento completas que verifican elestablecimiento y cumplimiento de hitos intermedios.En esta comunicación se muestra la aplicación de algunas de las prácticas propuestas en el caso real de proyectos fin de carrera en la titulación de Ingeniería Técnica en Diseño Industrial de la Escuela de Ingenierías Industriales. Se pone de manifiesto la utilidad del uso de dichas prácticas frente a enfoques más clásicos o simplistas.

Benefits and challenges of supply chain finance business process automation : A case study in ING Bank

Supply chain finance, a financial product provided by the bank, has gained increasing attention and popularity over the last few years. Supply chain finance helps the corporate clients to optimize their financial flows along the supply chain. One characteristic of supply chain finance is that it aims to provide automated solutions. Therefore, the business process automation of supply chain finance is a very interesting and important topic for study. In this study, the business process automation of supply chain finance within the case organization, ING, is analysed. The purpose is to: (1) Identify the benefits to understand the importance to automate supply chain finance business process; (2) Find out the existing automation degree in the supply chain finance business process within the case bank to see what’s the situation now and how to improve in the future; (3) Discover the challenges in the further automation of supply chain finance business process. Firstly, the study finds out that supply chain finance business process automation can bring many benefits to the bank. Automation can improve productivity by using less time and human labour in the business process, and by providing scalable solutions. Automation can also improve quality of the service by reducing the human errors. Last but not least, automation can improve internal governance by providing enhanced visibility of the business process. Because of these potential benefits, many banks are actively seeking solutions to automate their supply chain finance business process. Then, the current automation situation with the case bank is analysed with the help of business process modelling. The supply chain finance business process within the case bank can be further divided into several sub processes: daily transaction, buyer sales and setup, supplier onboarding, contract management, customer services and supports, and contract termination. The study finds out that the daily transaction process is already a highly automated, which is carried out through the web-based trading platform. However, for other business the automation degree is relatively low. Among these business processes, supplier onboarding is most needed for further automation. Then, some solutions are also suggested to automate the supplier onboarding business process. In the end, the study also foresees some challenges during the further automation of supply chain finance business process in the case bank. Some suggestions are also given to deal with these challenges.

Översiktsplan för skyddszoner, våtmarker och naturens mångfald i Raseborg och Ingå

Publikationen är en jordbrukets översiktsplan som utgördes på avrinningsområdet i Raseborg och Ingå kustområden under sommaren och hösten 2013. I arbetet kartlades särskilt behovet av skyddszoner vid åkrarna. Dessutom söktes objekt med biologisk mångfald, vårdbiotoper och lämpliga platser för våtmarker. Det visade sig finnas ett behov av skyddszon på åkrarna längs vattendragen på en sammanlagd sträcka av över 56 kilometer. Dessutom rekommenderas skyddszoner för sammanlagt 357 ha åkrar med översvämningsrisk och 813 ha åkrar på grundvattenområden. Planen inbegriper sammanlagt 25 våtmarksobjekt, som alla ska anläggas genom grävning. Sammanlagt 207 naturens mångfaldsobjekt och 30 vårdbiotoper hittades i jordbruksområdena. Till mångfaldsobjekten hör rikligt med trädbevuxna åkerholmar som är typiska för detta planeringsområde. Syftet med översiktsplanen är att inspirera jordbrukarna att vidta åtgärder för vattenskyddet och värna om mångfalden i landskapet och naturen. Åtgärderna är frivilliga för markägarna. Uppgifterna i planen kan användas som stöd för en mer detaljerad plan när man ansöker om finansiering för objekten. Planen baserar sig på terränginventeringar av objekten som företogs på basis av en kartundersökning och uppgifter från olika instanser. Av resultaten från kartläggningen skapades också ett material för geografisk information. I rapporten ges basinformation om området samt om anläggande och vård av objekt

Mobilização de água e conservação da viabilidade de embriões de sementes recalcitrantes de ingá (Inga vera Willd. subsp. affinis (DC.) T. D. Pennington)

Sementes anidrobióticas (ortodoxas) podem ter seu teor de água reduzido a valores suficientemente baixos para minimizar o metabolismo e, dessa forma, manter a viabilidade por períodos prolongados. Sementes não-anidrobióticas (recalcitrantes) não perdem sua viabilidade desde que o teor de água seja mantido acima de determinados valores em que a quantidade da água ainda é elevada para manter o metabolismo ativo; no entanto, a longevidade dessas sementes é relativamente baixa. No presente trabalho procurou-se manter o teor de água dos embriões de ingá por meio do armazenamento em soluções de polietileno glicol 6000 (PEG), com potencial hídrico conhecido e pré-estabelecido, visando a prolongar a longevidade. Os resultados indicaram que embriões mantidos em substrato com solução de PEG a -2,4 MPa apresentaram germinação superior a 80% aos 90 dias de armazenamento a 10 ºC, enquanto os armazenados em substrato umedecido com água pura (0 MPa), na mesma temperatura, apresentaram germinação inferior a 60%.

Miss-understand-ing: design education in Ontario secondary schools : an exploration of the issues with stakeholders and recommendations for change /

For most people design is a mystery. The products of design are integrated into our daily lives to the point that design has become invisible to us. However. what is subsumed in design practice is a creative problem-solving process that is applicable as a teaching strategy as well as a method for teaching the subject of design. The purpose of this study was to inquire into the current classroom practice of Ontario Visual Arts and Technological Education teachers, understand the goals of Ontario government curriculum developers, and explore the position held by the professional design community on secondary school design education. Data for this study were collected from: (a) a textual analysis of 4 Ministry curriculum documents; (b) interviews with JO stakeholders; (c) unobtrusive observations and informal conversations conducted at 7 secondary school open house events; and (d) observation of 2 sessions of an AQ course for Design and Technology. The research design modeled the design process and was divided into 2 parts: a discovery or problem-finding phase and a discussion or problem-solving phase. The results showed that design is misunderstood and misused; it has become lost between visual arts and technology where neither program holds responsibility for its delivery; students mistake working on computers for design practice; and while there is a desire within the professional community to have a voice in secondary school design education. there is no forum for participation. The technology-driven paradigm shift taking place in society today calls for a new framework for tellching and practicing dcsign. Further research is required; howcvcr. in the meantime. secondary school educators might benefit from professional development and classroom support from the professional dcsign community.
