Trabalhar embarcado no mesmo navio, pode representar um desafio para os tripulantes estrangeiros e brasileiros da empresa Alfa Navegações, devido às diferenças de valores e crenças dessas culturas manifestas no dia a dia desta tripulação marítima. O principal objetivo nesta dissertação é sinalizar impactos na socialização do convívio a bordo entre tripulação mista. Esta pesquisa investigou a construção de um cotidiano intercultural a partir da convivência entre brasileiros e estrangeiros na filial brasileira da empresa Alfa Navegações. O marco teórico foi construído por meio de fundamentos sobre cultura organizacional, relações interculturais e cultura brasileira para compreensão e análise do cotidiano. A metodologia de pesquisa adotada neste trabalho foi o estudo de caso, com ênfase qualitativa. Foi utilizada a entrevista semiestruturada como instrumento principal de coleta de dados. Concluiu-se que as barreiras culturais na comunicação e na adaptação dos tripulantes no convívio intercultural recaem no idioma. Isto reforça os conceitos expostos no marco teórico sobre a necessidade do treinamento intercultural e aprendizagem de outro idioma para auxiliar o convívio entre culturas diferentes. Com isso, notou-se a necessidade de aprender a lidar com outras culturas, tendo em vista o novo cenário internacional, devido ao aumento do trânsito de pessoas e de ideias de fontes culturais diferentes, e que nas relações sociais a questão intercultural tornou-se crucial. Isto ocorre não somente com aqueles que aceitam o desafio de viver ou trabalhar no exterior, mas também com aqueles que recebem estes profissionais e com eles convivem no cotidiano.

Este estudo é dedicado à compreensão dos fatores culturais e de confiança que dificultam o alinhamento por processos na área de Tecnologia da Informação e Telecomunicações de uma empresa de economia mista. Visa compreender e traduzir o modo como a cultura dessa organização impacta nos resultados alcançados pelo modelo de gestão por processos vigente. Fazendo uso de referencial teórico das áreas de estudo de cultura organizacional, cultura nacional e confiança nas organizações, este estudo buscou alinhar estes conhecimentos por meio de um viés ainda pouco explorado no ambiente acadêmico. Aqui fizemos uso do conceito de cultura como um meio e não como um fim em si, associando classificação da cultura em dimensões, os traços da cultura brasileira e os estudos de “confiança” numa mescla ordenada de conceitos capaz de nos responder à questão de pesquisa. Esta pesquisa representa o resultado de um esforço de imersão nas rotinas da organização e descrição dos seus elementos culturais por meio de observação e entrevistas no ambiente estudado. Por fim, este trabalho se destina a contribuir ao aprimoramento dos processos para atingir melhores resultados na TIC.

Esta dissertação se insere no campo dos debates que apontam para o impacto da cultura nacional sobre a cultura organizacional, oferecendo, por meio de um estudo de caso, especificidades de um órgão público brasileiro pertencente à administração direta. O trabalho é dedicado à realização de um diagnóstico, buscando compreender como elementos da cultura desse órgão dificultam a sua entrega de resultados. Partindo de um referencial teórico que caracteriza os traços da cultura nacional na maneira brasileira de administrar, assim como da abordagem dos chamados intangíveis na gestão, foi realizado um mergulho na dinâmica organizacional, procurando identificar os passivos intangíveis que dificultam a entrega de seus resultados. Por meio das lentes dos próprios servidores, obtidas a partir de vinte e uma entrevistas em profundidade, foram levantadas as especificidades de cultura e gestão no referido órgão, debatendo temas como: missão, planejamento estratégico, liderança, processos e tecnologia da informação, pessoas, treinamentos e alocação dos recursos. O resultado das análises conduziu para a visão de uma necessidade premente na organização de se tratar o fator humano em uma visão estratégica, criando-se um novo contexto capacitante em busca da excelência organizacional. Foram propostas alternativas para iniciar a pavimentação desse novo caminho, que tem como alicerces principais a integração e o envolvimento de pessoas na busca por resultados.

The work studies the use of macroeconomic indicators in strategic planning, considering the perception of senior Brazilian executives. Strategic planning is a management process of great importance within companies of all sizes and sectors. Good planning drives the company in the right direction, helping so she can anticipate the threats and make a diagnosis of opportunities and improvements. Macroeconomic indicators mainly represent data and / or signaling information behavior (individual or integrated) of the different variables and phenomenon components of an economic system of a country, region or state. These play a key role both to provide a better understanding of the present situation and the design of shortterm trends in the economy, and to support the process of making strategic decisions of public officials (government) and private (businesses and consumers). The design of the research followed a qualitative-quantitative model, conducting 12 semi-structured interviews, followed by conducting a survey to 416 companies operating in Brazil. As a result of research it was concluded that top executives know the importance of using macroeconomic indicators in strategic planning, and other accompaniments and decisions of companies, and point out that is not yet fully incorporated into the strategic planning process, running today, in most companies, only as a source of information and confirmation. The analysis of the two variables, from the perspective of senior executives resulted in the highlighted two other interesting variables for future work: trust and Brazilian culture.

This present study analyses the relationship between national culture and entrepreneurship, in order to contribute in understanding the impact and the influence of Brazilian culture under the business practices of foreign entrepreneur on the tourism area of Rio Grande do Norte state. Researchers in entrepreneurship field, such as Schumpeter (2005), Weber (2006), McClelland (1972), Murphy, Liao, Welsch (2006), Peyrefitte (1999), Blanchflower (1988), Filion (2000), among others, and in the national culture, high-lighting Caldas and Woods (1999), Hofstede (1997) and Barros and Prates (1996), are put together to create a starting point to this present research, that reaches out for a differential approach, in order to create a correlation between Brazilian culture and the foreign entrepreneur, who chose Rio Grande do Norte state to live and invest. It was observed that in the case of the Switzerland entrepreneur, where the cultural difference is more strong, either in Hofstede's perspective than in Brazilian s authors, the management practices are more negatively affected. The rationalization adopted by the entrepreneur and the employee s logic are in battle in a day-to-day operation of the company. In the case of the Argentinean entrepreneur, the cultural difference exists, but it does not impact as much, because of her personal characteristics and the similarities of Latin culture than surfaces the differences. Finally, this study showed the necessity of analyzing the enterprising regarding the cultural issue, in a way to highlight the different rationalities in different atmospheres where it is practiced the enterprise

This dissertation is a proposal for dialogue between Brazilian Social Thought, History of Portuguese America and the Analytical Psychology of C.G. Jung, highlighting the following archetypes: Anima, Animus, Shadow and Persona. Directing the study to the image of Indian women in this Brazilian interpretation of Casa-Grande & senzala by Gilberto Freyre, have largely centered on denial of the feminine image as a creative and positive in the minds of Brazilian culture, where a more specific analysis. We assume that your work has inspired several bridges over imaginary things in Brazil, including aspects relating to miscegenation, the study of foreign travelers, Jesuits and settlers / invaders of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries the Portuguese disembarked in America and in this sense, the influence of his work as wasteful image through time and space of the Portuguese slave order. This thesis is a translation of work of the Brazilian doctor, Pedro da Silva Nava (1903-1984), in particular, his memoirs and chronicles, articulated with the writings of medicine history, aiming to defend that the autobiographical narratives are sources of research capable of promoting discussions on the expansion of the present at the confluence of complex and unequal society in constant changing process as the Brazilian. The theoretical and methodological support circulates around studies, proposals and thesis by Boaventura Santos about empowering past, destabilizing subjectivity, sociology of absences, cosmopolitan reason and translation work. The empirical support drawn from the literature produced by Nava were analyzed with reference this reasoning and studies that have facilitated the flow of translation among others, the studies of Antonio Candido, Arrigucci Jr., Boris Cyrulnik, Beatriz Sarlo, Ecléa Bosi, Ítalo Calvino, José Willington Germano, José Maria Cançado, Lev Vygotsky, Marilena Chauí, Paul Ricöeur and Walter Benjamim, without neglecting what we consider indispensable to scientific research, the production of relevant knowledge and prudent, in view of a decent life. The initial inflections reflect the subject of the Memoirs and its education/training, to then place the Memoir subject in the literary context, scientific, historical and Brazilian poetic (1972-2010), bringing great interpreters and discussing the rationale used by the Narrator that we defend stand closer to the cosmopolitan, showing the formation of narratives whose presence insert itself beforehand to modernist verve, linked to the discursive array against the literature as domination space, disseminated in Brazil in the early twentieth century. So, it articulate with those in which the concerns adjust the construction of the social formation of Brazil as a national heritage through literary narrative that focuses on a historical principle that becomes the past empowering, allowing his rereading, whose converge to memory, the lifestyles, the plurality of language and Brazilian culture, formed by several people, converging into a design not of culture but multiculturalism in Brazil. The memory issue was addressed in the space-time of experiences of being that narrates, shaped by a destabilizing subjectivity that sought to order the testimony of a time, a history and society, retelling them by creative imagination, almost fictional, to make circulate his knowledge about Brazil attached to his medical knowledge, as well as other subjects in his living group and other groups with whom they maintained contact. Thus, he portrayed both tangible and intangible cultural assets of the country as a form of preservation, giving them meanings and sense. It approaches, therefore, from the perspective of sociology of absences, the expansion of the present and by the logic inherent in his narratives of self and Brazil

The analysis of this work seeks to investigate the meaning of the laughter in the paraibano writer Ariano Suassuna s armorial theater. The study departs, firstly, from an argumentation which centers its content in the theory of the many theoreticians of the question: Henri Bergson, Vladimir Propp, Jolles, Freud, Bakhtin. The essence of the laughter in Suassuna and its esthetic relations are commented, because those elements are responsible for the strength of the literary text. On the condition of scholar about Esthetic and Art History, Suassuna always puts the methods of the estheticism in favor of the loud laughter bearing in mind that it is a source of improvisation, i.e., it may have many senses depending on what it is pretended to transmit to the reader/viewer. The laughter is a mask which is changed to each new situation, representing that way own human condition. Because the theater is an art subjected to recreation, the laughter also is. And because it is a great party where other arts (the dance, the music, mamulengo e the bumba-meu-boi) are present, united to compose a confluent and hybrid language, the meaning of hilarity during the popular celebrations is studied mainly those that happened in Medieval Europe. Thus, in the second part, the basis of the research is the Russian Mikhail Bakhtin s theory that helps to link Suassuna s laughter to the popular party, showing the language used in them and the jokes that give life to the joy of the folk. Soon after, the importance of Suassuna s laughter to the Brazilian Culture, is examined making a reflection about its function at the sociocultural context of the country

Researching about the art of tell and the tales told by João Cota is somehow revisiting the oral tradition and social practice in the story-telling art. It takes into consideration the resistance this art still exerts, mainly by using the performance of oral transmission and receptiveness to tales. The study of this practice contributes to the vivacious and dynamcis permanence of this authentic and traditional storyteller of his repertory and of his form to tellin our culture. Story-telling is part of the humankind living heritage communicated by means of popular wisdom. Despite the risk of vanishing into thin air, along with their narrators, the tales still manage to resist the contemporary mass culture model. How long further will stories like the ones narrated by João Cota be able to resist to strong and stronger structures dictated by writing and other communication means? João Cota s practice in story-telling will be studied not only as a proposal to identify the presence of this practice and the oral cultural resistance but also, through the performance prospective, to identify the oral transmission and receptiveness to the tales that are part of this storyteller s repertoire. In other words: what he tells, how he tells it, and why he tells it. The advent of new technologies such as internet, through which people can easily communicate with others in different parts of the world, and the greater and greater expansion in the writing skill concept interfere the maintenance of the oral tradition elements present in João Cota s narratives and inserted in the Brazilian culture. This has become more visible in the latest decades although we still notice the living tradition and permanence of the story-telling practice in several parts of the country through their wise storytellers. Our research target will require - in each of its study stages reference to works by several theoreticians namely Paul Zumthor, Mikhail Bakhtin, Câmara Cascudo, theoreticians from the receptiveness aesthetic, from the written culture history, from oral cultures and reading practices, from tradition and the Brazilian Culture of oral story-telling. In order to get to know and draw a profile of this storyteller, we ve chosen to use the comprehensive interview method by French Sociologist Jean Claude Kaufmann. The originality in the method consists of the qualitative data put together in situ , concentrated on the storyteller s narratives/speeches recorded on tape, which will be the focal point of this study. Our analysis method is based on tireless sessions of listening to interviews out of which we gathered information related to the storyteller, his practice in telling the tales, and his repertoire

Tropicalia concerns the attempt of understanding of Brazil and a national identity characterized by the transience of time and space, rhizomatic action, perpetual laceration of cultural boundaries and at the same time act synchronously to instances such as policy and the social. A word created by artist Hélio Oiticica and registered by him on the National Register of Trademarks and Patents, was later used to a name the eponymous song by Caetano Veloso and also in this fertile cultural impulse at the turn of the sixties to the seventies on last century, who had the intention to make creating new spaces and simultaneously rethink the spatial cuts of Brazilian culture, encouraging them to be much more than a myth of a paradise within a lush new look of a tropical truth.

Based on the relation history, literature and space, this work examines the production and the closing of the representation of the hinterland in the Romance d A Pedra do Reino of the paraiban writer Ariano Suassuna. Inspired by method proposed by deconstructionist by Jacques Derrida, our reflection decomposes the writing scene of Suassuna by means of it s tracks to interpret the operation of the representation of the space-hinterland for the speech of the writer. Being thus, we present the elements chosen for Suassuna to weave an identification it s with this space-hinterland, taking a priori as a sentimental place and of familiar origin . The construction of this relation of belonging in great is measured grounded for a familiar memory entangled in the context politician who culminated in the Revolution of 1930 and that he resulted for the writer in the death of father. Suassuna launches a look on the identity and the Brazilian culture that guided in the tradition concept it searchs to deny the gift grounding its speech in the return to the past, a past order . Specifically in it s romance we notice to exist the fusing of these tracks in the production of a representation of the hinterland that it intends to close a concept of this space and its culture. Soon, the idea of kingdom sends to the space of the enchantments manufactured in infancy and retaken by the intellectual radical who in the anxiety of honor the father figure, does not save efforts in constructing a space representation that, over all, either faithful the representation that it searchs to trace of proper itself. Under one it marks of universality , the hinterland-kingdom of Suassuna if discloses eurocentric in the measure where it perpetuates discurse the filiation of the European cultural traditions.

Ballroom dance and Forro are part of Brazilian culture, and Xote and Baiao are part of Forro. The aim of this study was to diagramate the dances Xote and Baiao they are danced inside São Paulo State and to describe rhythmly these movements. It was observed and filmed several college couples dancing Xote and Baiao for analysis and description of the movements of the dances, by a discursive way and by diagrams. It was identified two basic structures ("Lateral Basic Step" and "Forward and Back Basic Step"), and variation steps "Open" and "Change of places with Turn", very used by couples.

Com objetivo de avaliar qualidade de vida entre mulheres portadoras de HIV/AIDS, aplicou-se o HIV/AIDS ­ Quality of Life test (HAT-QoL), instrumento específico para indivíduos infectados pelo HIV. Compõe-se de 42 questões e divide-se em nove domínios com questões sobre diversos aspectos de vida dos portadores. A escala foi submetida à tradução reversa e pré-teste. Sua forma definitiva foi aplicada entre 73 mulheres com HIV/AIDS. Os resultados, após análise estatística, indicaram que os domínios mais comprometidos foram: Preocupações financeiras, Preocupação com sigilo sobre a infecção, Atividades sexuais e Preocupações com a saúde. Esses resultados foram atribuídos ao fato das mulheres apresentarem, além da infecção, uma situação sócio-econômica precária que, provavelmente, também interferiu negativamente em sua qualidade de vida. Concluímos que a escala HAT-QoL foi adequada para a população de mulheres portadoras de HIV deste estudo, apesar de ser originária de uma cultura diferente da brasileira, já que sua aplicação produziu resultados semelhantes aos da literatura internacional.

The text analyzes the debates put forward in the defense for a humanist curriculum in the Brazilian secondary schools me the period from 1920 and 1960. Basing on the articles published in the periodic of national circulating and texts by educators who problematize the question f humanism as the orientation guide for the curriculum, the text highlights the positions of the intellectuals connected to the Catholic Churcho beside the thoughts of the secondary school teachers and the intellectuals of the progressive tendency. The analyses also show how the humanism notion is going to be transformed along the twentieth century and how this notion was enrooted in the Brazilian culture.
