Scattering Amplitudes Interpolating Between Instant Form and Front Form of Relativistic Dynamics

Among the three forms of relativistic Hamiltonian dynamics proposed by Dirac in 1949, the front form has the largest number of kinematic generators. This distinction provides useful consequences in the analysis of physical observables in hadron physics. Using the method of interpolation between the instant form and the front form, we introduce the interpolating scattering amplitude that links the corresponding time-ordered amplitudes between the two forms of dynamics and provide the physical meaning of the kinematic transformations as they allow the invariance of each individual time-ordered amplitude for an arbitrary interpolation angle. We discuss the rationale for using front form dynamics, nowadays known as light-front dynamics (LFD), and present a few explicit examples of hadron phenomenology that LFD uniquely can offer from first-principles quantum chromodynamics. In particular, model-independent constraints are provided for the analyses of deuteron form factors and the N Delta transition form factors at large momentum transfer squared Q(2). The swap of helicity amplitudes between the collinear and non-collinear kinematics is also discussed in deeply virtual Compton scattering.

Confirmatory factor analysis of different versions of the Body Shape Questionnaire applied to Brazilian university students

This study aimed at evaluating the validity, reliability, and factorial invariance of the complete (34-item) and shortened (8-item and 16-item) versions of the Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) when applied to Brazilian university students. A total of 739 female students with a mean age of 20.44 (standard deviation = 2.45) years participated. Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to verify the degree to which the one-factor structure satisfies the proposal for the BSQ's expected structure. Two items of the 34-item version were excluded because they had factor weights (lambda)< 40. All models had adequate convergent validity (average variance extracted =.43-.58; composite reliability=.85-.97) and internal consistency (alpha =.85-.97). The 8-item B version was considered the best shortened BSQ version (Akaike information criterion = 84.07, Bayes information criterion = 157.75, Browne-Cudeck criterion= 84.46), with strong invariance for independent samples (Delta chi(2)lambda(7)= 5.06, Delta chi(2)Cov(8)= 5.11, Delta chi(2)Res(16) = 19.30). Scaling properties and universality in a ratchet system

Critical exponents that describe a transition from unlimited to limited diffusion for a ratchet system are obtained analytically and numerically. The system is described by a two dimensional nonlinear mapping with three relevant control parameters. Two of them control the non-linearity while the third one controls the intensity of the dissipation. Chaotic attractors appear in the phase space due to the dissipation and considering large non-linearity are characterised by the use of Lyapunov exponents. The critical exponents are used to overlap different curves of average momentum (dynamical variable) onto a single plot confirming a scale invariance. The formalism used is general and the procedure can be extended to different systems.

This work investigates the variance and invariance of subject clauses patterns in spoken and written contemporary Brazilian Portuguese. I analyze four parameters (category and semantic class of matrix predicate, form of embedded clause and mood-tense correlation between matrix and embedded clauses) and show that there is less variance in speech patterns.

Adaptação transcultural Brasil-Portugal da escala Brief Cope para estudantes do ensino superior

The aim of this study was to adapt the BriefCOPE Inventory for Portuguese-speaking university students. We evaluate the Portuguese BriefCOPE psychometrics qualities and estimated the BriefCOPE factorial invariance in Brazil and Portugal. The data collected from a sample of 1573 students of both nationalities did confirm the 14-factor structure of the BriefCOPE and showed both factorial, convergent and discriminant related validities. However, the factor model did not show invariance across countries indicating that the use of the Portuguese version of the BriefCOPE cannot be bailed for comparisons of scores of inter-countries' student coping.
