The present study aimed to analyze the effects of tooth bleaching with 10% carbamide peroxide (CP) gel on the bond strength of resin composite restorations to dentin. Material and Methods: Twenty cavities were prepared on the buccal surface of bovine teeth. After acid etching and application of bonding agent on dentin and enamel, the cavities were restored with composite resin. The specimens were divided into groups according to treatment on the surface of enamel / restoration: G1 - control (no treatment) and G2 (10% PC gel application for 8h/day during 14 days). After this period, the teeth were cut to produce beams with 0.81 mm2 cross-sectional area, which were subjected to microtensile test. The fractures were examined with a stereomicroscope and classified as cohesive in resin or dentin, adhesive, or mixed. Results: The statistical analysis (ANOVA / χ2) revealed that the factor treatment interfered with the bond strength, which was significantly higher for specimens of G2 (p <0.05). Adhesive fractures occurred in most of specimens of both groups with values ranging from 48.3% to 75%. Mixed fractures were the second more frequent in G1 and cohesive resin failure in G2. Conclusion: It was concluded that tooth bleaching with 10% of PC increased the bond strength of adhesive restorations to dentin.

Efeitos da aplicação de resina hidrofóbica sobre a resistência de união de adesivos autocondicionantes de frasco único

Introduction: It is known that self-etching adhesive systems can act as semi-permeable membranes. Objective: Evaluate the effects of additional layer of hydrophobic resin on the microtensile bond strength of self-etching one-bottle adhesives. Material and method: Sixty bovine incisors were used in this study. The facial enamel surfaces of the crowns were abraded with silicon carbide paper to expose flat, mid-coronal dentin surfaces. The following adhesives were used: Clearfil Tri S Bond (CTSB), AdheSE One (ADH) and One Coat  7.0 (OC). Each material was tested with and without applying an additional layer of hydrophobic material from the same manufacturer. Z-350 composite resin was inserted in three 1 mm increments. All adhesive restorative procedure was performed under simulated pulpal pressure and the microtensile test was performed immediately after curing the composite resin. Data were submitted to ANOVA and Tukey test (p < 0.05). Result: For all adhesives tested, the worst results were observed in groups which the additional layer of hydrophobic resin was not applied. Conclusion: The application of additional layer of hydrophobic material can improve the adhesion of self-etching all-in-one adhesive systems.

In recent years, the concept of art education has been changing substantially the artistic and cultural education in the Brazilian educational system, particularly in relation to the formation of a critical awareness and practice of citizenship. Besides the analysis of important materials, official documents and Brazilian projects involving art, culture and education, such as Research-Action Report 2013, the National Plan for Culture, the National Education Plan and the Municipal Act 6119; this paper seeks to explicit this affirmation, assuming the social transformation aiming a full citizenship, as a motivational factor. In this paper we also present a plan that includes a project in art education for the Stable Dance Company and the public elementary schools in Bauru SP

The perception of modern society regarding the nature and indigenous peoples came to be shaped in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, with two major events, the invasion of Europeans in America and the scientific revolution. These events symbolize the cultural overlap and European thinking about the rest of the world. The current scenario is industrialism, consumism and cultural standardization driven by Cartesian thought. This work demonstrates, through literature research and data analysis, that this dominant model has caused the crisis of modernity, focusing especially on the environmental crisis that threatens human life. The solutions are present in the modern society the knowledge of indigenous peoples that is inherently ecological and sustainable by tradition. From the union of diverse cultures and knowledge dialog you can find solutions for today's problems and provide a renewal of relationships between modern society, indigenous peoples and nature. The World Conscious Pact presents this proposal which can be increased through public relations strategies in order to reconnect the man-nature bond, generating critical behavior with respect to the current dominant system and motivate society to adopt truly ecological postures. Influência do agente de união na resistência ao cisalhamento da interface titânio/polímero de vidro

There is little information regarding bond strengths of polyglass to metal alloys. This study evaluated the influence of bonding system on shear bond strength of a composite resin (Artglass/Heraeus Kulzer) to cast titanium (Ti). Twenty metallic structures (4mm in diameter, 5mm thick) of titanium grade I were cast shaped and abraded with 250mm aluminum oxide and separated into two groups. For each group was applied one bonding system (Siloc or Retention Flow) before opaque and dentin polymer superposition. This procedure was managed using teflon matrices. They were manipulated and polymerized according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The samples were stored in distilled water for 24 hours at 37º and thermocycled (5º and 55ºC/500 cycles). Shear bond strength tests were performed by using an Instron Universal testing machine at a crosshead speed of 5mm/min. Results were analyzed statistically with one-way ANOVA (a=0,5) and they indicated that the Retention Flow system was statistically better than Siloc (20.74 MPa and 11.65 MPa , respectively). It was possible to conclude that the bonding agent influenced the adhesion between polymer and cast titanium.
