Aportación a la Flora Bentónica de las Islas Baleares, V.

Los numerosos trabajos sobre fitobentos marino de las islas Baleares fueron recopilados en los catálogos florísticos de RIBERA & GÓMEZ (Collect. Bot. (Barcelona) 15: 377-406. 1984; Collect. Bot. (Barcelona) 16:25-41.1985). Posteriormente, debido a la realización de numerosos estudios bentónicos de la zona, se han publicado adiciones a dicho catálogo (PERICAS, Boll. Soc. Hist. Nat. Lectotypification of Halymenia rodrigueziana J.Feldmann [= Sebdenia rodrigueziana (J.Feldmann) Codomier ex Athanasiadis (Sebdeniaceae, Rhodophyta)].

Here we designate as a lectotype of Halymenia rodrigueziana J. Feldmann the sheet JF2328 held in the Herbarium of J. Feldmann, included in the Herbarium of the Cryptogam Laboratory of the Muséum National d"Histoire Naturelle de Paris (PC). Also we present the correct citation of this species and for Sebdenia rodrigueziana (J. Feldmann) Codomier ex Athanasiadis.

Antimicrobial Activity of Iberian macroalgae

The antibacterial and antifungal activity of 82 marine macroalgae (18 Chlorophyceae, 25 Phaeophyceae and 39 Rhodophyceae) was studied to evaluate their potential for being used as natural preservatives in the cosmetic industry. The bioactivity was analysed from crude extracts of fresh and lyophilised samples against three Gram-positive bacteria, two Gram-negative bacteria and one yeast using the agar diffusion technique. The samples were collected seasonally from Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts of the Iberian Peninsula. Of the macroalgae analysed, 67% were active against at least one of the six test microorganisms. The highest percentage of active taxa was found in Phaeophyceae (84%), followed by Rhodophyceae (67%) and Chlorophyceae (44%). Nevertheless, red algae had both the highest values and the broadest spectrum of bioactivity. In particular, Bonnemaisonia asparagoides, Bonnemaisonia hamifera, Asparagopsis armata and Falkenbergia rufolanosa (Bonnemaisoniales) were the most active taxa. Bacillus cereus was the most sensitive test microorganism and Pseudomonas aeruginosa was the most resistant. The highest percentages of active taxa from Phaeophyceae and Rhodophyceae were found in autumn, whereas they were found in summer for Chlorophyceae.

Catalogo de la flora bentonica marina de las islas Baleares I. (Rhodophyceae)

Catàleg de la flora marina bentònica de les illes Balears. S'inclouen les citacions bibliogràfiques que s'hi han trobat, aixi corn les aportacions personals. Els 420 taxons son 273 Rodoficies, 79 Feofícies i 68 Clorofícies. Aquesta primera part inclou les Rodoficies. Là flora marina de les Balears, a causa de 1'elevada temperatura de les sèves aigües, presenta una certa tropicalitat, carácter que queda reflectit en el seu élevât valor de l'index R/P.

Estudio fenologico de varias especies del genero Cystoseira en Mallorca

En el presente trabajo realizamos un estudio de las variaciones tanto desde el punto de vista morfológico como reproductor, sufridas por varias especies del género Cvstoseira, a lo largo del año. Las observaciones fueron realizadas mensualmente desde febrero de 1978 a enero de 1979 en cuatro localidades de la isla de Mallorca.

Nota sobre la variacion morfologica de Gelidium spathulatum en Mallorca

En esta nota presentamos las variaciones morfológicas sufridas por Gelidium spathulatum (Kützing) Bornet a lo largo del aro, en una población determinada de la cala de Portals Nous (Bahía de Palma). Estas variaciones quedan reflejadas en dibujos realizados mediante 'Visopan' y en los gue posteriormente se han marcado las líneas de crecimiento. El material fué recogido mensualmente desde febrero de 1978 hasta enero de 1979.

Catalogo de la flora bentonica marina de las Islas Baleares II: Phaeophyceae, Chlorophyceae

Este catálogo incluye 79 Feofíceas y 68 Clorofíceas que pertenecen a la flora bentónica balear. La flora bentónica marina de las Baleares, a causa de la elevada temperatura del agua, presenta cierta tropicalidad, carácter que queda reflejado en el elevado valor del índice R/P.
