OBJETIVO: O objetivo deste estudo foi comparar o comportamento oscilatório de cada membro inferior na tarefa de alcance frontal. Além disso, verificar a influência da informação visual nestas tarefas, em pacientes com doença de Parkinson. MÉTODO: Participaram deste estudo 8 pacientes com doença de Parkinson idiopática, de ambos os sexos, classificados entre os estágios 1 a 3 da escala de Hoehn e Yahr e 8 sujeitos controle. Para avaliar o comportamento oscilatório, foi aplicada a tarefa de alcance frontal que consistiu em elevar os braços a 90º, posicionar uma mão sobre a outra, estender os dedos e tentar alcançar à frente o mais longe possível sem retirar ou mover os pés da posição inicial. Os pés foram posicionados sobre duas plataformas de força, próximas uma da outra. Para aquisição dos dados de comportamento oscilatório foi utilizado o software AMTI Net Force, com freqüência de coleta de 100 Hz. Foram realizadas 3 tentativas para cada condição (com e sem informação visual), totalizando 6 tentativas com duração de 30 segundos cada. As avaliações clínica e postural foram realizadas no estado on do medicamento. Variáveis do COP analisadas: Trajetória, Velocidades Ântero-posterior e Médio-lateral e Limite de Estabilidade. RESULTADOS: Plataforma 1- MANOVA revelou apenas efeito de momento, Wilk’s Lambda= 0,04, F(8,6)=18,74, p≤0,01. Testes univariados apontaram diferença significativa para as variáveis Trajetória (F=31,62, p<0,001), Velocidade média médio-lateral (F=83,24, p<0,001) e para Limite de estabilidade (F=27,36, p<0,001). Plataforma 2- MANOVA revelou apenas efeito de momento, Wilk’s Lambda=0,026, F(8,6)=28,23, p<0,01. The intervertebral disc disease is considered a major neurological disorder involving the spinal cord, being a disease commonly seen in dogs in clinical practice of small animals. The pathophysiology of most discopathies have not been fully elucidated, but it is known that the symptoms observed will depend on the severity of spinal cord compression and location of spinal injury, ranging from localized pain to complete paralysis. Through a detailed clinical examination and laboratory tests, we choose the most appropriate treatment for each patient, which can be conservative, through the use of anti-inflammatories, analgesics and acupuncture or surgical, through decompression techniques. Acupuncture, therapeutic method of ancient Chinese medicine, uses the stimulation of specific points on the body in order to balance the body's physiological. The action mechanism of acupuncture in discopathies has not been fully elucidated, but its analgesic effects, anti-inflammatory and restoration of sensory and motor function are known, showing results as good as surgical therapy

The aim of the present study was to examine tapping synchronization in children with and without Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). Participants were 27 children from which 13 diagnosed with motor difficulties composed the DCD group and 14 children with typical development (TD) the comparison group. The experimental task consisted of performing 25 continuous tapping on a surface of an electronic drum with the preferred hand. Participants were required to tap in synchrony with an auditory bip generated by customized software. Three interval values the tapping task were tested: 470 ms, 1000 ms, 1530 ms. The dependent variables were constant error (CE) and absolute error (AE) and standard deviation of absolute error (SD of AE). The ANOVA 2 x 3 x 3 (Group X Age x Interval) with repeated measures in the last factor for the CE indicated significant interaction among Group X Age X Interval. For the AE and SD of AE the ANOVAs yielded significant main effect of Interval and a significant interaction between Group X Interval. The results of the present study indicated that children with DCD were less accurate and more variable in the tapping synchronization than children with TD. Differences in performance between DCD and children with TD become larger as the interval of the auditory signal increases.

A Shantala é uma técnica de massagem milenar realizada em bebês, descoberta pelo médico francês Frederick Leboyer quando fazia uma visita pela Índia. Popularmente é conhecida devido aos seus benefícios como a tranquilidade, a afetividade entre mãe e filho e o fortalecimento do vínculo entre eles. Através dela farei uma breve apresentação de sua origem e seus métodos, buscando apresentar a afetividade na infância, as principais teorias que perfazem a relação psíquica e motora no primeiro ano de vida, abordando o sistema sensorial e as interfaces com a pele, musculatura e linguagem corporal. Brazilian wines are appreciated by consumers for having fruity odor and taste which are typical from Vitis labrusca cultivars. The rusticity of these cultivars, the winemaking and the physicochemical properties are some of the key factors to obtain a quality beverage. In this context, the aim of this article was to analyze the quality of three white wines from wineries located in northwest region of São Paulo state by determining physicochemical properties and sensory profile. Data were analyzed by statistical tests and by Principal Component Analysis (PCA). It was possible to observe statistical differences (P<0,05) in most physicochemical properties. Furthermore, the PCA showed that the attributes body and color significantly explained the variance of the first and second component, respectively, higlighting the Vitis vinifera wine. Thus the connection between the physicochemical and sensory properties of white wines was important for characterization of these beverages produced in the northwest of São Paulo.

Brazilian red wines are very appreciated by consumers from tropical regions, because they typically have aromatic and fruity taste. Thus, the aim of this article is to verify the quality of red wines from wineries located in Northwest region of São Paulo, based on the relationship between physicochemical properties and sensory attributes. Three red wines from this region was evaluated by sensory and analytical methods and it was possible to observe significant differences in the fixed acidity, alcoholic content, total phenolic content and total dry extract. Multidimensional Scaling showed relationship between total phenolic content and astringency, total dry extract and body and the relationship of volatile acidity in the assessment of odor samples. It was possible to see the physicochemical influence in sensory evaluation, indicating the importance of the chemical profile in the elucidation of possible sensory alterations in red wines.

In this work were prepared with three ice cream added peppers of different varieties: Capsicum baccatum, Capsicum annuum and Capsicum frutescens. The peppers were first pasteurized and evaluated in relation to the effect of heat treatment on the ascorbic acid content. Results showed that the Capsicum annuum showed higher ascorbic acid content, but the heat treatment resulted in greater loss of biocompounds. The higher retention of ascorbic acid was observed with Capsicum frutescens, which presented lower content of biocompound, but near of the pepper Capsicum annuum. The follow attributes was performed to evaluate the acceptance of ice cream through the sensory attributes: color, aroma, flavor and texture. Analysis of variance showed no significant difference between ice cream formulations at the 5% level of significance with regard to color, aroma and texture. Regarding taste, the samples differed significantly, at 5% significance, and the most preferred was the ice cream made with pepper Capsicum frutescens.

The dulce de leche or milk candy is a food widely consumed in Brazil, which shows typical characteristics of taste, color, flavor and texture. The lady-finger red pepper is regularly present on the Brazilian people table as this product contains a pungent flavor favoring various spices; and it is also rich in ascorbic acid (vitamin C) which is an excellent antioxidant. This study aimed at developing a dulce de leche containing lady-finger red pepper, and to determine the composition of the product. Also, the ascorbic acid contents were quantified in products stored for different periods (0, 30 and 60 days). The product acceptance by consumers on the sensory characteristics was evaluated by means of hedonic scale for color, aroma, flavor and texture attributes. The composition of the product was in accordance with the legislation in force, and the ascorbic acid contents were practically stable during the storage, and the sensory analyses indicated that the red pepper-containing dulce de leche was well accepted.

Obesity is a growing problem all over the world, reaching all age groups and social categories. This is a concern ing fact, because the current life style, more and more sedentary, favors the develop of this disease. Children suffer with this ill more and more prematurely and many of its consequences will be carried during all their lives. With the intention of better understand the relationship between obesity and children's motor development, the present research investigated, through psychomotor evaluations of equilibrium and appendicular motor coordination, based on the Exame Neurológico Evolutivo (ENE), the existence of changes in the performance of this variables in obese children and children with normal weight, in their first year on fundamental education in a public state school. The static equilibrium presented itself lower than normal in obese, compared to the normal weight group. Statistically significant differences were not found in respect to dynamic equilibrium and appendicular motor coordination. With that, we can conclude that the static equilibrium suffered influence of obesity, because the centre of gravity might have been changed due to excessive weight
