The world is an environment in constant process of globalization, where physical boundaries are no longer limits. The competitiveness has also evolved, forcing companies to adopt efficient practices in order to increase productivity gains, reduce losses and improve quality. Nowadays, the supply chain management and its element, including the internal logistics, is regarded as a key element for gaining competitiveness. Thus, this study focused on identifying and implementing improvements in the internal raw materials transport operations of a consumer goods company, based on concepts and tools of the lean thinking. The results showed considerable gains in productivity with consequent cost reduction, proving the efficiency of the methodology lean even in support areas of an organization.

The work consists of analyzing the risk management of investments by applying statistical concepts, economic and mathematical models considering the assets on the market on renowned financial institution. During the retaining wall project in soil reinforced with geogrids and face milling system for segmental blocks is essential to determine the maximum connection resistance between the block and the geogrid. Thus, the aim of this study was to analyze the connection resistance based on ASTM D- 6638-01 between the segmental block model MW of Muros Terrae® company with the geogrids model Fortrac® M 35 / 20x20, Fortrac® M 55 / 30x20, Fortrac® M 80 / 30x20 and Fortrac® M 110 / 30x20 of HUESKER Synthetic GmbH using gravel 1 as a filling material. As a result, the resistance curves were obtained for the four models of geogrids and was described how it fracture. An additional investigation was the average gain connection resistance percentage when it is applied to geogrid a second layer instead of a single layer. The average percentage gains in the connection resistance to the geogrids model Fortrac® M 35 / 20x20, Fortrac® M 55 / 30x20, Fortrac® M 80 / 30x20 and Fortrac® M 110 / 30x20 were, respectively, 63.20 %, 63, 47%, 62.23 % and 51.34 %. Finally, we made a comparative analysis of the results of this study with those obtained by Guimarães (2006), Urashima et. al (2008) and Almeida and Toma (2011) to evaluate which combinations offered higher connection resistance

This study aimed at evaluating the knowledge on visceral leishmaniasis gained after the application of an educative project for the 6th and 7th grade students from three public schools of Birigui, SP, Brazil. A questionnaire before (Phase I) and after (Phase II) activities that comprehended one conference by a health agent, a comic contest and one crossword about VL was used to measure scholar’s knowledge. We interviewed 711 students in Phase I and 693 in Phase II. A criterion of VL knowledge was adopted as “Good”, “Medium” and “Bad” when, out of 10 questions analyzed by Item Response Theory, 10 to 8, 7 to 4, and 3 to 0 were right, respectively. We observed a statistically significant increase in the students’ knowledge level after the educational project, since the number of students with “Good” concept changed from 35.7% (Phase I) to 59.7% (Phase II). The educational activities carried out led to gains in knowledge among students suggesting that continuing education can bring good results to public health.

Baixo desempenho e enriquecimento da interação: propostas de Feuerstein e mediação da aprendizagem

This text is the result of a larger study into the role of the mother tongue in the construction of school knowledge, with a view to promoting gains in the performance of teenagers. The three objectives in this particular paper are: (1) to address Feuerstein's ideas, how the mother tongue interrelates with specific content, and the management of pedagogical interaction; (2) to illustrate enriched interaction during interventions by the researcher; and (3) to point out that supervised internship actions may help underachieving students. This is done in light of an interpretive analysis of the specialized literature, course books, reports and notes concerning interventions with students, and video and audio recordings. The analysis of interactions and student output following the researcher's interventions reveals increased awareness and change regarding school knowledge and how speaking/writing about specific content may enhance their performance in the completion of pedagogical tasks.

Eficiência da cokrigagem na estimativa da produtividade do café conilon

The objective of this research was to estimate the productivity (PRODUT) in sc/ha of coffee conilon through the technique of cokriging, using as covariate the production of humid coffee (PROD) in kg and compare the results with estimates obtained by kriging ordinary. The study was conducted in a commercial area of conilon coffee, Coffea canephora Pierre var. conilon, located in São Mateus Municipality, Espirito Santo State. For the field work was sampled the humid coffee production in a sampling grid irregular of 18.5 ha, 87 sampling points in the total. We also determined the production of dry coffee beans and coffee benefited 12% moisture, to obtain the PRODUT variable. After exploratory data analysis, which showed the correlation between variables in the order of 0.899, was performed variogram analysis. Were adjusted theoretical variograms to PROD and PRODUT and cross variogram between two variables. Finally we estimated the value of productivity, both by ordinary kriging as per cokriging. The validation of the estimation by cokriging not shows, however, significant gains in relation to validation by ordinary kriging.
