This article aims to highlight, in the form of brief general notes, the broad outlines of Honneth's critique of some aspects of Habermas' thought. Honneth's critique is guided by an investigation of the moral and normative criteria of social struggles, which Honneth appropriates in a critical fashion from the young Hegel. Honneth's central point is that the possibilities of interactive-communicative experience cannot be summarized in, or taken exclusively from, linguistic interaction, nor can the latter be pursued in its ideal aspect without the presupposition of the conflicting contexts in which it is always inserted.

The interfaces between Semiotics of Information Science must also be analysed from a broader perspective, searching for signs of interdisciplinary involvement. So, as a complement to a theoretical study on the semiotic foundations of document analysis and information mediation, we undertook the analysis of the presence of semiotic perspectives in the Information Science literature —journals papers, conference proceedings and theses. The results showed that the semiotic studies related to the information analysis and information mediation are in an incipient stage, especially in Brazil, in spite of a substantial increase in the number of publications.

This article aims to contextualize the educational affirmative action policies for ethnic racial groups in Brazilian legal system, present the main philosophical fundamentals that support these educational policies and discuss the validity of those fundamentals. In the legal context, the principle of substantive equality and the fundamental objectives of the Federative Republic of Brazil, positivised in the Constitution of 1988, as well as the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, allow the implementation of these policies. The philosophical fundamentals presented in this article are the thesis of compensatory justice and the thesis of distributive justice. The thesis of distributive justice has been refuted by logical legal arguments and by analysis of the right to higher education positivised in the Constitution. The thesis of compensatory justice has been considered a valid argument to support affirmative action policies, due to historical facts and sociological factors existing in the Brazilian context. It is concluded that the affirmative action policies for ethnic racial groups should be part of the Brazilian social policies, but these affirmative action policies should not invade the context of higher education, since the intended purposes are unrelated to this.

Presents some specific elements of historical course, facing circumstances and moments that established milestones in the construction of the school curriculum in Brazil and directed the mentality of the pedagogical. The thought is present democratizing steadily, but still, is so inconclusive in academic and theoretically fragile in the school routine. Along the way the great complexity of this issue begins to reveal, for some traits, their chances for overcoming an institutional model in a state of exhaustion.

This article presents the theoretical and methodological unity between the historical-critical pedagogy and cultural-historical psychology. It highlights, in addition to the membership of both theories to historical-dialectical materialism, the basic premises that point toward the affirmation of school education as a condition of humanization of individuals, as well as the transmission of historically systematized knowledge as one of the requirements for the achieving this purpose. In this direction, we aim to demonstrate that the historical-critical pedagogy contains, in its innerness, a solid psychological foundation, consistently built by a cultural-historical conception of man, society and educative nature that guides the relationship between them through the human vital activity, that is, through the work. It is in the core of those fundamentals that the alliance between this pedagogical theory and cultural-historical psychology is evident.

It also considers implications for Physical Education Elementary and High School curricula aimed at forming emancipated, autonomous and critical individuals, taking the Physical Education Curriculum of the State of Sao Paulo as example. It concludes that the curriculum needs to imbricate into students'social life and take into account the challenges and issues from contemporary society.
