Airplane Invoice, 1949

An invoice for a Luscombe Silvaire, Model 8-A Sky Pal plane with additional items installed. The total for the invoice is $2541.63 for all items. The invoice was made out by Aero Activities Limited, Barker Airport, Toronto 10, Ontario. There is a handwritten note at the top of the invoice that reads, "Our 1st airplane".

General Price List, Dispensaries sell liquor for medicinal, sacramental, scientific and manufacturing purposes only. The sale of liquor for beverage purposes in the Province of Ontario is prohibited by The Ontario Temperance Act. A price list for Lawrence A. Wilson Co. Limited, 87 James St., Montreal Quebec. It is addressed to The Toronto Hunt, 52 Bay Street, Toronto. There are additional handwritten notes. One of the handwritten notes reads "ck to W. Stephen Haas"

Gooderham's Labels

A collection of Gooderham's labels that include: Bonded Stock Canadian Whisky, London Dry Gin, Big Brown Jug Canadian Rye Whiskey, and Rich and Rare Canadian Whiskey. The labels indicate the distillery was established in 1832, Toronto, and is Canada's first.

Four Seasons Hotel (Sheraton) records, 1974 – 1980, 1982, n.d.

The Four Seasons Sheraton is located on 5 acres of land in downtown Toronto, Ontario. It opened in October of 1972 as part of a joint venture with the Four Seasons chain. At that time, it was the second largest hotel in Toronto boasting 1,450 rooms. The hotel was advertised as a “city within a city”. The connection with the Four Seasons chain was severed in 1976 when Isadore Sharp (founder) sold his 49% share in the hotel.

21 ½ cm x 13 ½ cm photograph of Samuel DeVeaux Woodruff taken in October of 1891 at DeVeaux Hall in St. Catharines. Mr. Woodruff is carrying a rifle and has caught 6 woodcock and 2 quail. The photograph was described by R. Band of Toronto in 1977 and is included.

Photograph - Lawn Bowling St. Catharines

Black and white photograph, 13 cm x 20 cm, which appears to have been cut from a scrapbook. This is a photo of lawn bowling in St. Catharines in about 1900. The man on the extreme left is Hamilton Killaly Woodruff. The picture is described on the back by R.W. Band of Toronto.

She is posing with a setter and the Chihuahua at Dr. Cleveland’s house in Erie Pennsylvania. This photograph is mounted on a board. This was described by R. Band of Toronto on the back of the photo in 1975.

Royal Bank of Canada records, 1973-1977

In 1973, the Royal Bank of Canada began construction on a new office in downtown Toronto known as the Royal Bank Plaza. The $100 million construction project consisted of two triangular office towers linked by a glass-enclosed banking hall. In addition to housing the Royal Bank of Canada’s Ontario headquarters, the Plaza included a two-level shopping concourse with restaurants and boutiques, as well as office space available for lease. The Plaza officially opened on March 10, 1977.

The Book of Common Prayer Canada

The book of Common Prayer Canada is bound in soft leather. This book contains 2 book plates from St. George's Church, St. Catharines. The first one says that Margaret Julia Band was confirmed April 17, 1935 and had her first communion April 21, 1935. The second one says that Percy Caruthers Band was confirmed April 8, 1936 and received first communion April 12, 1936. There is also an inscription which reads "To Margaret from her mother, April the 21st, 1935, St. Catharines. The full text is available in the Brock University Special Collections and Archives.

Dictionary of the Zeta Psi Fraternity of North America

A hardcover Dictionary of the Zeta Psi Fraternity, edited by Arthur H. Motley and Harry B. Carpenter. An excerpt from the forward reads: "Having the sincere purpose of placing in the hands of all Brothers of the Fraternity a Directory of the full membership of our order, with addresses as perfectly correct as time and equipment would permit, supplemented with such alphabetical and geographical indices as will make the volume a handy and accurate cross-reference to our membership...". Included with this book is a typewritten letter from Gordon Waldie, treasurer of the Toronto Chapter of the Zeta Psi Fraternity thanking Mrs. Percy Band for the gift of the original initiation certificate of the late Hamilton K. Woodruff. Mr. Woodruff was one of the Charter members of the Fraternity and he was the 7th man initiated into this, the first Canadian chapter of any fraternity. The letter is dated Nov. 21, 1949. Haswell's Engineers' and Mechanics' Pocket-Book

The book is bound in a leather case with a clasp in the front. Inside is printed "S.D. Woodruff, St. Catharines, C.W." in the front of the book and there is a label which says "Band, 74 De Vere Gardens, Toronto 20, Ontario". The Monastery

The Monastery by Sir Walter Scott, was prsented to margaret Woodruff for proficiency in tennis singles, June 17th, 1913. The book is bound in a leather cover which is embossed with the St. Margaret's College, Toronto insignia.
