The study of the generation of landfill gas contributes to the understanding of the relationship between gas production and other parameters, such as time of disposal of waste and moisture (rainfall) and, thus, can subsidize the viability study for energy. This study aims to evaluate the interference of the time of disposal of waste and moisture (rainfall) in the production and composition of biogas generated at the landfill in Rio Claro - SP. As a result it was observed that for the landfill studied, the average percentage of methane in biogas ranged from 49.9% to 54.7%. It was found that moisture (rainfall) and the time of waste disposal are parameters which do not cause significant changes in methane concentration in biogas. However, when analyzed the flow of biogas, which had the maximum average value of 152.86m3/h and minimum average value of 15.47m3/h was observed great interference of moisture (rainfall) and the time of disposal of waste, because well of gas located in newer areas of the landfill showed higher values of flow rate than the areas where the landfill was the beginning of the arrangement. The same way, it was observed that in the dry season flow of biogas decreased in all drains gas analyzed

The climate and weather have direct implications on society, are factors that can to regulate or restrict human occupation in a determined space. In this way, studies of climate and weather are justified to be extremely necessary for urban planning and economic activities, especially agriculture. The precipitation of hail, which enters in the classification of severe storm, causes large, direct and indirect impacts on society, mainly when it occurs in urban areas. This work aims to study the precipitation of hail, explain what is a severe storms and how hail is formed in clouds, making use of a literature review in geography and also in weather sciences. It is also an aim of this work analyze the genesis, evolution and dissipation of a specific case of precipitation of hail occurred in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, especially in Guarulhos, on 21st of September 21 of 2010, through the use of GOES-12’ satellite’s images and the use of São Roque’s weather radar. And in this way, show the potential impact of hail storms in society and contribute to a greater preparedness of the population, urban planners associations and emergency management, such as municipalities, the civil defense and fireman

A espécie Prochilodus lineatus, considerada um migrador por excelência, possui intensa ocorrência durante a migração reprodutiva. São peixes de elevado valor econômico e a sua adaptação em cativeiro os tornam altamente interessantes para desenvolvimento de programas de piscicultura. O monitoramento regular das variações genéticas nos estoques é importante em programas de conservação, evitando o declínio da variabilidade genética, essencial para a conservação das espécies. No entanto, os poucos dados moleculares populacionais para Prochilodus lineatus justificam a presente proposta. Nesse sentido, tivemos como objetivo caracterizar a variabilidade genética e estabelecer as relações filogeográficas entre 6 populações de P. lineatus das bacias dos rios Paraguai (2 do rio Paraguai e 3 do rio Cuiabá, MT) e Paraná (1 do rio Mogi-Guaçu, SP), num total de 34 indivíduos. Outros 16 indivíduos dos rios: da Prata, Uruguai, Paraná, Bermejo, Paraguai, Amazonas e Madeira, cujas sequências foram obtidas do National Center for Biotechnology Information (Genbank), foram analisados, totalizando assim, 50 indivíduos. Como grupo externo foi utilizado Salminus brasiliensis. O estudo foi realizado através das análises das sequências do gene mitocondrial ATPase 8/6. O interesse do uso de um gene mitocondrial está na vasta literatura que esse possui em análises filogenéticas e na confiança que existe nos dados gerados de tais análises. O gene citado foi completamente sequenciado (842pb), as análises filogenéticas foram conduzidas pelos métodos “Neighbor Joining (NJ)”, “Minimum Evolution (ME)” e “Máxima Parcimônia (MP)”, com 1000 réplicas de bootstrap no programa MEGA 5.0. Para análises filogeográficas as sequências foram analisadas no programa TCS e no programa Arlequin. Os resultados auxiliarão em uma melhor compreensão da história evolutiva, migração... There are many studies about longitudinal modulus of elasticity of wood, but you can´t say the same of transverse modulus, especially for conifers. The study aimed to characterize and compare the species Pinus elliottii var. elliottii and Pinus elliottii var. elliottii x Pinus cariabeae hondurensis (hybrid), and the longitudinal modulus of elasticity (E) and lateral (G) in bending, to analyze the modulus of elasticity in different spaces and to verify the species studied the ideal range is equal to 21 times the height of the specimen, as prescribed in the normative document NBR 7190/1997, as well as analyzing the relationship G = E/20 defined in the normative document NBR 7190/1997. The wood came from the farm located in Paranapanema, split at the mill São José and the rest of the work was conducted at the Experimental Itapeva Campus - UNESP. Were removed fourteen specimens of each species. The average values of the modulus of elasticity and cross were, respectively, 5828 MPa and 452 MPa for Pinus elliottii var. elliottii and 6407 MPa and 320 MPa for the species of Pinus elliottii var. elliottii x Pinus cariabeae hondurensis (hybrid). The trend lines for the plotted graphs showed an exponential behavior to near linear 21he will equal the constant after this value. We have found the relationship G = E/13, for Pinus elliottii var. elliottii and G = E/20 for hybrid. The results of the modulus and strength for Pinus elliottii var. elliottii and the hybrid were lower than those reported in the literature, showing that this batch inferior quality to apply to structures

The growing concern over deforestation of native forests from Brazil to the marketing of wood in various sectors had made greater attention from lawmakers. In this context, did the reforestation, which came into existence to meet the demand for forest raw material. This paper attempts to make a survey, focusing on the interplay between small and medium producers, consumers of forest products and reforestation associations. For this, we conducted a survey of legislation at the federal and state since the emergence, evolution and current context for understanding the legal basis on the subject. In addition, literature reviews have been made seeking to direct the concepts and importance of reforestation, reforestation, forest plantations and productive use of the species Eucalyptus sp for the supply of forest raw material. Approach was also sought on the structure of the system of reforestation of the state of Sao Paulo and their assignments. We also present an in loco study of Chairman Wenceslas municipality in order to analyze the participation of the municipality in the reforest the region of Pontal Paranapanema and actions of regulatory agencies. As a result presents a survey of consumers of timber enterprises in the municipality of President Wenceslas based on the resolution SMA No. 082/2008, which describes the characteristics of these companies and their fields of activity

Os eventos extremos pluviométricos quando ocorrem em cidades sem um prévio planejamento capaz de suportar tais episódios, trazem certo desconforto para a população e seu habitual modo de vida. Os impactos registrados nos ambientes urbanos estão associados, na maioria das vezes, à inadequação do uso e ocupação do solo urbano. Assim, através deste estudo buscou-se analisar os impactos deflagrados por eventos de precipitação na cidade de Presidente Prudente, baseando-se principalmente no referencial teórico-metodológico Sistema Clima Urbano, em especial, no Subsistema Hidrodinâmico, proposto por Monteiro (1976). Assim, procurou-se analisar os transtornos que ocorreram na dinâmica socioambiental da cidade durante os eventos de precipitação mais expressivos. Para isto foram analisados os dados quantitativos da Estação Meteorológica da FCT/UNESP de Presidente Prudente e também dados qualitativos por meio dos registros dos jornais da cidade. Para as análises quantitativas foram utilizados os dados da estação meteorológica do período de 1969 a 2009, e para as análises qualitativas foi considerado este mesmo período. Através desse estudo, foi possível conhecer e estudar a distribuição espacial dos problemas sociais e ambientais deflagrados pela precipitação no ambiente urbano de Presidente Prudente e também entender a dinâmica desses impactos. Portanto, com este estudo pretende-se contribuir com os órgãos públicos de gestão urbana para que eles possam tomar medidas preventivas para diminuir os impactos em época de chuvas intensas, visando assim, à melhoria da qualidade de vida

The term model refers to any representation of a real system. The use of models in Hydrogeology can be valuable predictive tools for management of groundwater resources. The numeric models of groundwater flow, object of this study, consist on a set of differential equations that describe the water flow in the porous medium. In this context, numeric simulations were made for a sub-basin located at Cara Preta farm – Santa Rita do Passa Quatro – SP. The aquifer at the local is composed by rocks of Pirambóia Formation, which is part of Guarani Aquifer System. It was developed a conceptual model from previous studies in the area, and from that, simulations were made through the software Visual Modflow®. The conceptual model established previously was considered consistent through the results of simulation.

The decreasing availability of drinking water is a problem that has existed for a long time and continues to be aggravated, especially by the increase in population and pollution of water resources. Due to the need to find alternatives in order to ensure water supplies in sufficient quantity and quality for consumption by populations, rainwater collection arises as an alternative. The present study was developed in Ipeúna-SP, consisting of an experimental system of collection and storage of rainwater on the roofs of buildings. Samples of the same precipitation, differentiated through the initial disposal and treatment of the collected water, were stored during a period of six months and monitored through physical, chemical and microbiological analyses. With the results, the qualitative characteristics of the stored precipitation were found, the main differences among the samples were identified and the needs of treatment were studied.

This work focuses on the analysis of extreme precipitation episode in the city of Rio Claro, held on 24 and 25 February 2010, which caused severe impacts to society, and a victim of drowning due to flooding due to flood in urban stream. Although the temporal concentration of summer rainfall is characteristic of tropical climatic regimes, each year there are issues of social and environmental impacts deflagrated by precipitation events in the city. These findings reinforce the importance of analyzing atmospheric conditions correlated to change in space usage
