Poesia digital: três leituras da Obra de Jason Nelson

The development of digital technologies has opened up a new niche for artistic production. It began to emerge artworks that could only happen in the digital context. In this study, we investigated the syntax of defining digital poetry, recognized internationally as one of the possibilities of this new artistic practice, and how happens the meaning during the reading process. As research corpus, we chose the poem "Birds Still Warm From Flying", by american poet Jason Nelson. And we structure our analysis looking through three perspectives: the digital poem as a game; as the evolution of experimental trends of twentieth-century poetry; and as a representation of Rubik`s Cube, a famous three-dimensional puzzle from the 1970`s. Initially, we made some considerations about the construction of digital poetry as a hypermedia artwork, looking through convergence and hybridization of artistic and media languages. Then, we saw some similarities between Nelson`s poem and electronic games, based on our critical observations about the concept of interactivity. Subsequently, we wrote a historical overview about the poetic experimentation in the twentieth century, bringing examples of sound poetry and visual poetry as evidence that the birth of digital poetry is also the result of the evolution of these experiments. Finally, we use the Charles Sanders Peirce`s semiotics to analyze the signs that give references able to make us recognize the Rubik`s Cube in "Birds Still Warm From Flying"

Sair curado para a vida e para o bem: diagramas, linhas e dispersão de forças no complexus nosoespacial do Hospital de Caridade Juvino Barreto (1909-1927)

This work has as object of study the Hospital de Caridade Juvino Barreto, nosocomial institution located in the city of Natal (RN), between the Praia de Areia Preta and the Monte Petrópolis, focusing on the period from 1909, the year in which the new hospital building was constructed and opened, and 1927, the date of the transfer of administration of the public domain to the newly created Sociedade de Assistência Hospitalar (SAH). We study the conditions of possibility of the emergence of this hospital space in the urban environment of the capital of Rio Grande do Norte, seeking to understand the different tactics and strategies implemented by the historical subjects involved in the formation of this institution nosocomial. Starting from a corpus of documents consisting of medical memories (with Dr. Januário Cicco as privileged observer), information present in newspapers (the Republic and the Christmas Journa l), photo collection and extensive administrative and legal material (Speeches, Exhibitions, Reports, Laws and Resolutions), we analyzed in detail the medical geography of HCJB, relating the discourses of medicine and geography in choosing the spatial location of the hospital as we examine the architecture of the hospital, its inner spat iality, divisions, forms of space control, and, finally, we discuss the medical practices that took place within it, leading us in this regard, from the experiences of clinical hospital chief, Dr. Januário Cicco, especially the discussion on "ethics" in hospital work. The perception of HCJB as medical nosoespaciality always on the move, incorporated under taxonomic principles based on difference and dispersion forces, led us to articulate it theoretically from the conceptual-methodological arsenal of philosopher Michel Foucault, particularly his reflections of genealogical phase, focusing on the phenomenon of power, a position that allows us to enhance our space-hospital construction, invention, product of power relations, which give the unfinished aspect nosocômio, apparent, always at stake, perpetual non-modeling possibility has previously defined array, establishing it at the field of possible, of virtuality, of power: hospital that could have been and that it was not. Deciding difference logic in a Nelson-Oppen combination framework

O método de combinação de Nelson-Oppen permite que vários procedimentos de decisão, cada um projetado para uma teoria específica, possam ser combinados para inferir sobre teorias mais abrangentes, através do princípio de propagação de igualdades. Provadores de teorema baseados neste modelo são beneficiados por sua característica modular e podem evoluir mais facilmente, incrementalmente. Difference logic é uma subteoria da aritmética linear. Ela é formada por constraints do tipo x − y ≤ c, onde x e y são variáveis e c é uma constante. Difference logic é muito comum em vários problemas, como circuitos digitais, agendamento, sistemas temporais, etc. e se apresenta predominante em vários outros casos. Difference logic ainda se caracteriza por ser modelada usando teoria dos grafos. Isto permite que vários algoritmos eficientes e conhecidos da teoria de grafos possam ser utilizados. Um procedimento de decisão para difference logic é capaz de induzir sobre milhares de constraints. Um procedimento de decisão para a teoria de difference logic tem como objetivo principal informar se um conjunto de constraints de difference logic é satisfatível (as variáveis podem assumir valores que tornam o conjunto consistente) ou não. Além disso, para funcionar em um modelo de combinação baseado em Nelson-Oppen, o procedimento de decisão precisa ter outras funcionalidades, como geração de igualdade de variáveis, prova de inconsistência, premissas, etc. Este trabalho apresenta um procedimento de decisão para a teoria de difference logic dentro de uma arquitetura baseada no método de combinação de Nelson-Oppen. O trabalho foi realizado integrando-se ao provador haRVey, de onde foi possível observar o seu funcionamento. Detalhes de implementação e testes experimentais são relatados

El pensamiento de Carlos Nelson Coutinho: interpretar el Brasil

El presente artículo muestra una interpretación de Brasil a partir de la fecunda apropiación del pensamiento de Gramsci por el intelectual brasileño de izquierda Carlos Nelson Coutinho. Se destaca la osadía intelectual que caracteriza su producción a lo largo de cinco décadas en la búsqueda permanente de la ampliación conceptual como superación dialéctica, siendo fiel a la relación fundante entre historia y teoría política. A partir de una revisión del pensamiento de Coutinho, las autoras analizan el proceso de modernización de Brasil en el tránsito al capitalismo por la vía de la revolución pasiva. Se rescatan aportes de Coutinho sobre las configuraciones estatales en la historia brasileña, enfatizando el proceso de occidentalización con la ampliación del Estado a través de la actuación política de la sociedad civil que emerge de las entrañas de la dictadura militar. Respostas morfológicas em Guibourtia hymenifolia (Moric.) J. Leonard (Fabaceae) e Genipa americana L. (Rubiaceae), submetidas ao estresse por deficiência nutricional e alagamento do substrato

Foram estudadas as respostas plásticas em duas espécies nativas. em G. hymenifolia, não foram verificadas modificações morfológicas significativas, exceto quanto ao conteúdo de amido de reserva, que foram menores nos lotes capacidade de campo desnutrido (CCD) e alagamento desnutrido (ALD). em Genipa americana os indivíduos do lote (CCN - capacidade de campo nutrido) exibiram raízes adventícias com aerênquima distinto, mais freqüentes nas plantas do lote controle submetidas ao alagamento (ALN - alagado nutrido). Nessa última espécie, nos lotes ALN, verificou-se o surgimento de aerênquima lisógeno no caule, além da hipertrofia lenticelar. A diversidade de respostas às condições de alagamento, aliada à uma larga ocorrência de populações de Genipa americana em áreas sazonalmente inundadas, como por exemplo no Pantanal de Miranda-MS, sugere um complexo de interações entre caractes adaptativos morfológicos e fisiológicos, sendo o potencial gênico fundamental neste tipo de resposta.
