In the context of an autologous cell transplantation study, a unilateral biopsy of cortical tissue was surgically performed from the right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC) in two intact adult macaque monkeys (dlPFC lesioned group), together with the implantation of a chronic chamber providing access to the left motor cortex. Three other monkeys were subjected to the same chronic chamber implantation, but without dlPFC biopsy (control group). All monkeys were initially trained to perform sequential manual dexterity tasks, requiring precision grip. The motor performance and the prehension's sequence (temporal order to grasp pellets from different spatial locations) were analysed for each hand. Following the surgery, transient and moderate deficits of manual dexterity per se occurred in both groups, indicating that they were not due to the dlPFC lesion (most likely related to the recording chamber implantation and/or general anaesthesia/medication). In contrast, changes of motor habit were observed for the sequential order of grasping in the two monkeys with dlPFC lesion only. The changes were more prominent in the monkey subjected to the largest lesion, supporting the notion of a specific effect of the dlPFC lesion on the motor habit of the monkeys. These observations are reminiscent of previous studies using conditional tasks with delay that have proposed a specialization of the dlPFC for visuo-spatial working memory, except that this is in a different context of "free-will", non-conditional manual dexterity task, without a component of working memory.

The relevance of attentional measures to cognitive and social adaptive behaviour was examined in an adolescent sample. Unlike previous research, the influence of both inhibitory and facilitory aspects of attention were studied. In addition, contributions made by these attentional processes were compared with traditional psychometric measures of cognitive functioning. Data were gathered from 36 grade 10 and 1 1 high school students (20 male and 16 female students) with a variety of learning and attentional difficulties. Data collection was conducted in the course of two testing sessions. In the first session, students completed questionnaires regarding their medical history, and everyday behaviours (the Brock Adaptive Functioning Questionnaire), along with non-verbal problem solving tasks and motor speed tasks. In the second session, students performed working memory measures and computer-administered tasks assessing inhibitory and facilitory aspects of attention. Grades and teacher-rated measures of cognitive and social impulsivity were also gathered. Results indicate that attentional control has both cognitive and social/emotional implications. Performance on negative priming and facilitation trials from the Flanker task predicted grades in core courses, social functioning measures, and cognitive and social impulsivity ratings. However, beneficial effects for academic and social functioning associated with inhibition were less prevalent in those demonstrating a greater ability to respond to facilitory cues. There was also some evidence that high levels of facilitation were less beneficial to academic performance, and female students were more likely to exceed optimal levels of facilitory processing. The accident toll on our road traffic is staggering. Obviously this appalling toll of life and.health represents heavy economic loss in addition to human tragedy. the enormous increase in the number of motor vehicles with its rash, negligent and reckless use by unscrupulous, inexperienced and dangerous drivers in the most miserably managed roads coupled with concomitant hazards would draw our attention that Accident Prevention, and Accident compensation are thoroughly two compatiable aims. Proposed solutions to the traffic Problems abound. Preventive efforts concentrated on each of the variables the driver, the road and the vehicle are all being initiated. Still it is a Will the .Motor Vehicles are not considered as dangerous machines. Motoring activity is found useful.A competent and specially trained police force has to be created to deal with the traffic offences in a more scientific ways.The term ‘legal representative needs to be defined on the constructive aspects of relation and dependence.Services of legal aid and public counsels shall necessarily be extended to the poor Motor Accident victims.Timely reporting and timely investigation of Motor Accidents cases will reduce the number of fraudulent claims. There are instances where cases are taken in to investigation after several months of occurrence.It is hoped that the suggestions made above as a result of the present study, if pwgninto practice, may make a humble contribution to the prevention sssof motor accidents and to a faster and speedier settlement of motor accident compensation claims.

This paper presents the design and analysis of a novel machine family of Siotiess Permanent Magnet Brushless DC motors (PMBLDC) for precise positioning applications of spacecrafts. Initial design, selection of major parameters and air gap magnetic flux density are estimated using the analytical model of the machine. The proportion of the halbach array in the machine was optimized using FE to obtain near trapezoidal flux pattern. The novel machine topology is found to deliver high torque density, high efficiency, zero cogging torque, better positional stability, high torque to inertia ratio and zero magnetic stiction suiting space requirements. The machine provides uniform air gap flux density along the radius thus avoiding circulating currents in stator conductors and hence reducing torque ripple

En el món dels videojocs el realisme és un punt molt important a tenir en compte ja que dónamés sensació a l’usuari d’estar immers en el videojoc. Això passa en part per aconseguir realisme en la dinàmica dels objectes i fer que aquests segueixin les lleis de la física de Newton. Per això s’han desenvolupat diverses llibreries que s’anomenen “motors de física” (physics engines), que empren variables com la massa, la velocitat, la fricció i la resistència del vent. Els objectius d’aquest projecte seran l’estudi de diferents llibreries físiques existents, la seva comparació i com s’integren en els motors de jocs. A més a més , la generació de contingut amb comportament que respongui a les funcions definides a aquestes llibreries no és trivial i per aquest motiu també es desenvoluparà una aplicació per generar murs de forma semiautomàtica que respongui a impactes. Per assolir aquests objectius caldrà: d’ una banda, comparar els cossos rígids, unions i funcionament en general de diferents llibreries físiques: Newton Game Dynamics, NVIDIA PhysX Technology, Open Dynamics Engine, Bullet Physics Library, Tokamak Physics Engine i Havok i d’ altra banda, implementar una aplicació que donant-li una imatge en planta d’una paret o conjunt de parets en format vectorial i les mides d’un maó, generi murs que puguin reaccionar de forma adequada quan rebin l’impacte d’una massa determinada. L’aplicació s’implementarà en C++ i amb l’entorn de desenvolupament Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. La visualització serà amb OpenGL

Colombia siempre ha velado por tener una mejor infraestructura del país, haciendo que se mantenga preocupado por su posición competitiva frente a su desarrollo como hub logístico de Latinoamérica. Esto se ve fundamentado a través de la política nacional logística escrita en el COMPES 3547. Sin embargo, hay un desconocimiento por los empresarios grandes y pequeños del país acerca de las pretensiones que el gobierno quiere llevar a cabo sobre los distintos sectores económicos. La simulación de estructuras como sistemas es de vital importancia para el desarrollo y mejoramiento de cadenas de suministro. La administración de la cadena como sistema que integra procesos permite producir constantemente, mantener niveles adecuados de inventario y cumplir con los requerimientos del cliente final. Lo anterior teniendo en cuenta que los principales actores de la cadena son proveedores, fabricantes, clientes, detallistas, transportadores y distribuidores, En un entorno en el que la globalización constituye quizá el motor más importante para el desempeño de la cadena de suministros, pues rompe barreras geográficas. En síntesis la simulación es un aporte importante para la correcta planeación y operación de la cadena de suministros y esto a la vez permite prestar un buen servicio al cliente mientras se reducen costos y tiempos.

This is seen through the lens of a study and characterization of administrative decisions issued by the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Cundinamarca –CAR- within the superficial water concessions procedure. It also discusses the conceptual contents of these licenses.

El Consulado General Central de Colombia en Madrid como representación consular acreditada ante el gobierno de España, tiene como funciones principales el promover y defender los intereses de Colombia y de los connacionales residentes en Madrid, brindándoles la asesoría adecuada y requerida para cada una de sus necesidades, proteger los derechos fundamentales de los colombianos en el exterior y ejercer ante las autoridades del país donde se encuentren, las acciones pertinentes, de conformidad con los principios y normas del Derecho Internacional. En el siguiente proyecto se planteará una investigación, la cual pretende analizar y evaluar el modelo de servicio al cliente prestado por el Consulado General Central de Colombia en Madrid. La idea central de esta investigación es conocer la opinión de los connacionales que hacen uso de los servicios consulares y evaluar el cliente interno, en este caso el equipo de trabajo del consulado para medir la percepción que tienen estos sobre el ambiente laboral dentro de la oficina consular, y convertir esa información en una herramienta útil, que ayude a generar posibles estrategias de mejora al modelo de servicio al cliente del Consulado, cuyo principal objetivo según La Cónsul General de Colombia en Madrid es “fortalecer el servicio y la atención a cada uno de los colombianos” (Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, Consulado de Colombia en Madrid, 2014). Se plantea una investigación concluyente, que proporciona información y evidencia para dar respuesta al interrogante, planteado ¿qué estrategias deberían implementarse al modelo de servicio al cliente del Consulado?.

La enfermedad de disco lumbar de origen laboral se presenta como una patología frecuente a nivel mundial en la masa trabajadora de diferentes sectores económicos expuesta a factores de riesgo biomecánico, afectando negativamente a la persona como ser individual y social, y repercutiendo en las economías en diferentes niveles. Objetivo Establecer la prevalencia de los factores de riesgo biomecánico en los casos con diagnóstico de enfermedad de disco lumbar calificados como enfermedad de origen laboral por la Junta Regional de Calificación de Invalidez del Meta, en el período comprendido entre 2011 a 2014, explorando la asociación entre los factores sociodemográficos y laborales. Metodología: Estudio de corte transversal con información retrospectiva de historias clínicas de pacientes con enfermedad de disco lumbar calificados de origen laboral, entre el 2011 – 2014. Resultados: La prevalencia de los factores de riesgo biomecánico fue: flexión columna con 94.1%, caminando durante la mayor parte de la jornada laboral 51.7%, levantar y/o depositar manualmente objetos 53.4%, manipulación de carga mayor a 25 kg, 49.2% y vibración cuerpo entero más de 4 horas 16.9%. Estos factores fueron mayores en trabajadores de obras civiles y manipuladores de materiales con 20.3%, en actividades económicas de servicios con 33.1% y construcción 21.2%. Se encontró asociación estadísticamente significativa de la enfermedad de disco lumbar con el género y la exposición a vibración/impacto cuerpo entero. Conclusión: Los factores de riesgo biomecánico como la posición de la columna vertebral en flexión, el levantamiento y depósito de carga, la manipulación de peso mayor a 15 kgs, la postura de cuerpo caminando, la exposición a vibración a cuerpo entero, y el tiempo de exposición, son elementos fundamentales a tener en cuenta en el proceso de calificación de origen de la enfermedad discal lumbar.
