La creciente heterogeneidad en la edad al primer hijo en el Uruguay: un análisis de las cohortes de 1951 a 1990

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar los cambios en la edad al primer hijo de las mujeres uruguayas nacidas entre 1951 y 1990. Los datos provienen del Censo Nacional de Población de 2011, en que se incluyó por primera vez una pregunta sobre el año de nacimiento del primer hijo para las mujeres con al menos un hijo nacido vivo. Mediante la construcción de tablas de vida se calcularon las probabilidades condicionales del nacimiento del primer hijo y la proporción de mujeres sin hijos, por edad. Para examinar las diferencias dentro de la cohorte, se utilizó la distribución de sus integrantes según los años aprobados en la enseñanza formal. La proporción de mujeres que inician la maternidad en la adolescencia prácticamente no exhibe cambios entre las cohortes, mientras que aumenta de manera sostenida el porcentaje de mujeres que aplazan la maternidad hasta después de los 30 años. Este patrón, fuertemente asociado con el nivel educativo, determina la creciente heterogeneidad de la edad al primer hijo en el Uruguay.

The plastic deformation is widely used in the metallurgical market due to its positive factors such as low prices and high speed production. Forming process products are obtained in high quality, both surface quality and mechanical properties. Friction is an importante factor in metal forming. Friction study in metal forming can be accomplished indirectly, such as the ring test of friction. Two samples of different materials being mild steel and copper alloy were used. The results showed the influence of friction in the flow behavior of the deformation of the second phase, as evidenced by standard metallography. It is observed that in the outer regions of the ring, plastic deformation occured in the radial direction. In the central region of the disc deformation occured in the direction of compression and the inner region of the ring flux lines showed a significant deformation in the radial direction towards the center of the ring

This paper examines how the reinvigoration of the exceptional American historical experience appears as a solution to some of the leading neoconservatives, considering Nathan Glazer and Irving Kristol as emblematic, regarding the fall of the American empire, beginning in the 1960s and 1970s, after its rise during the Cold War, the so-called 25 glorious years. We note that the arguments of these authors is rooted in the revival of reactionary rhetoric as an antidote to the decadence of American virtue supposedly caused by Communism, by the counterculture movement and the alleged perverse effect of the welfare state.

Type IIB R4H4g-4 conjectures

We propose SL(2, ℤ) (and SL(3, ℤ))-invariant conjectures for all R4H4g-4 couplings of Type IIB strings on ℝ10 (and ℝ8×T2), generalizing conjectures of Green and Gutperle (and Kiritsis and Pioline) for the R4 coupling. A strong check for our conjectures is that on T2 at weak coupling, they reproduce the multiloop scattering amplitudes which had been previously computed using N = 2 strings in the N = 4 topological formalism. Applications to (p, q) string production in a background H field, generalizing Schwinger's computation for pair production in a constant F field, are suggested. © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.

A new limit of the AdS(5) x S-5 sigma model

Using the pure spinor formalism, a quantizable sigma model has been constructed for the superstring in an AdS(5) X S-5 background with manifest PSU(2,2 vertical bar 4) invariance. The PSU(2,2 vertical bar 4) metric g(AB) has both vector components gab and spinor components g, 3, and in the limit where the spinor components g, 3 are taken to infinity, the AdS5 X S5 sigma model reduces to the worldsheet action in a flat background. In this paper, we instead consider the limit where the vector components g(ab) are taken to infinity. In this limit, the AdS5 X S5 sigma model simplifies to a topological A-model constructed from fermionic N=2 superfields whose bosonic components transform like twistor variables. Just as d=3 Chern-Simons theory can be described by the open string sector of a topological A-model, the open string sector of this topological A-model describes d=4 N=4 super-Yang-Mills. These results might be useful for constructing a worldsheet proof of the Maldacena conjecture analogous to the Gopakumar-Vafa-Ooguri worldsheet proof of Chern-Simons/conifold duality.

Problem with the superstring action of Deriglazov and Galajinsky

Deriglazov and Galajinsky have recently proposed a new covariant action for the Green-Schwarz superstring which can be constructed in any spacetime dimension. In this Comment, I show that their action contains extra on-shell degrees of freedom as compared with the standard action and is therefore inequivalent. ©1999 The American Physical Society.

Construction of R4 terms in N = 2 D = 8 superspace

Using linearized superfields, R4 terms in the Type II superstring effective action compactified on T2 are constructed as integrals in N = 2 D = 8 superspace. The structure of these superspace integrals allows a simple proof of the R4 non-renormalization theorems which were first conjectured by Green and Gutperle. © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
