Desempenho escolar: análise comparativa em função do sexo e percepção dos estudantes

This paper discusses the results of an investigation of academic achievement by gender and student perception of the expectations of their teachers. 120 students from the 5th year of primary education municipal public schools in the metropolitan region of Campinas city participated in the research: 60 of the students have satisfactory academic performance and the other 60 have unsatisfactory performance. We used a scale of student perception of teacher expectations and, to measure academic performance, we considered the grade teachers assigned to students. Research results revealed significant differences between boys and girls in the group of students with unsatisfactory performance, because most of them (83.3%) were male. On the other hand, there were no statistically significant differences between boys and girls in the group with satisfactory academic performance, although girls' average academic performance was higher. Regarding the perception of their teachers, we observed differences in both groups. Students with satisfactory performance have the perception that they are more praised and more often chosen to assist the teacher in the classroom while underperforming students believe they receive more criticism from their teachers and are seen as more unruly. The data allow discussing student-teacher bond, the influence of experience at the time of learning and how it influences the interest and motivation of students.

Given the pedagogical practices in respect of acts of reading in the current context of education institutions in primary education, it is clear that they are connected to decipher and not the search for meaning and understanding. In thinking about the use of new technologies that can contribute to the formation of the reader, it is believed that reading subtitles allows such training since it requires a quick read that does not cling to every word and attribution of meaning to monitor all the course of the film. This makes the children learn to read and make sense using the expertise of its cultural heritage. This research aimed to analyze the contribution of film subtitles to the formation of the reader from elementary school. Thus, students were invited, between the ages of six and ten years, with interest to see subtitled films, and they learn to read subtitles. The film sessions were held fortnightly at the school, in an adapted room. After the sessions, held group discussions to see what the problems in understanding the plot this paper presents data on the session of the film "Coração de Tinta". Children, assisted by the researchers could understand the story and learned to articulate their knowledge in situations of movies. The research is ongoing, but we can see that during the projection there are indications that they are able to read the subtitles, sometimes lose the timing of reading, but gradually evolve in the field of reading this kind of discourse.

Mapeando a Situação Educacional no estado de Sergipe

This article examines historical and legal aspects of educational policy in Brazil, presenting the main challenges for the consolidation of the new National Education Plan, currently under construction. From this, the article focuses on the description of some educational indicators, describing the educational reality in the state of Sergipe. The study focuses on indicators for early childhood education, to primary education and teacher training, showing historical deficits in basic education. In describing data on education in the state of Sergipe, contextualizing it within the framework and illustrates some national educational policies implemented in the state. As a result of the study is intended to show the importance of research into the educational policy in the state of Sergipe, in order to contribute to improving the quality of educational provision.

Assessoria Fonoaudiológica na Educação Infantil

This study aims at indicating possibilities for speech therapists at schools of Primary Education. The project was developed in three centers of Primary Education in Irati, Paraná. It took into consideration 114 students and 30 teachers. Teachers filled in questionnaires and attended conferences. Regarding to the children, it was constructed a profile and activities related to phonological subjects. The extension project represented an important role for development of academic skills and competence of the school community.

The concern with infant mortality has been a priority in public policies, especially for Brazil to achieve the Millennium Development Goal number four: reducing child mortality by 75% by the year 2015. It is known that prematurity has an intimate relationship with mortality of children under one year and therefore it is necessary an effective intervention in risk factors linked to premature births. To evaluate the profile of mothers and newborn babies living in Botucatu-SP, in the period 2001 to 2009, focusing on prematurity. A quantitative study, retrospective, descriptive, epidemiological, from the Information System Newborn Alive. The prevalence of preterm births was 15.1%, and low birth weight 14.7%. Among infants, the Apgar score below 7 at 1 and at 5 minutes was 13.1% and 2.4% respectively. Considering the total of pregnant women studied, 20.3% were adolescents and 10.3% were aged 35 years or more and most (63.2%) had eight or more years of school approval. The profile of mothers of premature infants shows that 23.6% were teenagers, 14.1% had at least 35 years and 60.4% had at least primary education. With regard to premature deliveries, caesarean sections and 58.4% were between the total newborns, this type of delivery was achieved in 46.6% of cases. Prematurity was associated with an Apgar score below seven in the first and fifth minutes of life, presence of malformation and multiple pregnancy. Among maternal variables, prematurity was associated with extremes of maternal age, maternal education, history of stillbirth, primiparas, white and presence of the mother's partner. With regard to delivery was associated with cesarean section and outside the hospital. This study assessed maternal characteristics associated with prematurity and point out how relevant the pregnancies at the extremes of age and those that occur in women with low education level, indicating the interference... Qualidade de vida em mulheres com ausência ou presença de terapia de reposição hormonal

The objective of this study was to evaluate the quality of life (QL) of a group of menopausal women in the presence or absence of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It consists of a cross-sectional analytical study involving women from the School Health Center - Unity Village Farmers' and Town Railway on the city of Botucatu. Participants were divided into two related groups of studies: run HRT and do not realize. We used the SF 36 and QRS, and a questionnaire to characterize the study population. No differences were seen when comparing the groups with regard to age, age at menarche and menopause. It was observed that 92% were white women and who have studied up to primary education (p = 0.0209), and those who had a partner (p = 0.0055), were the most reported changes in QL. The most frequent comorbidities were hypertension and diabetes, which is significantly more important in women without HRT. The account of the lower of QL was expressed by 28% of the sample, and the population obtained in MRS score more negative (p, 0.05). The correlation of the eight components of the SF36 and the MRS, with the presence or absence of TRH showed no significant differences. The concept of quality of life and evaluation of it is subjective and individual. However they can notice changes in QL, evidenced by instruments. One can see that menopause is not necessarily accompanied by changes in QL, however, when expressed, tend to be perceived more negatively. Despite the lower level of social and low education and women interviewed have QL as good. There is a need for studies to improve a more real relationship between HRT and QL

The life and work of Tatiana Belinky are steeped in fantasy, his works speak of magic and charm of the stories. This research aimed to investigate the knowledge that teachers in the early years of Primary Education (Early Childhood and 1st year of elemen tary school education) have on the work of Tatiana Belinky. Therefore, a survey research theoretical framework in printed documents and digital media (websites and platforms indexed) was performed in order that he might collect data about the life and work of this writer. Concomitantly, the benchmark survey, a field study with teachers from preschool (4) 1st year of elementary school (2), a public school in the town of Jaú, in which a questionnaire semi - structured questions was used was performed . The survey and qualitative study, a case study allowed the lifting of the life and work of the author, approximately 104 considered early childhood education. As to knowledge of teachers studied in the research almost all said they knew the author, however there were few works cited by them

A seleção dos conteúdos cartográficos presentes na proposta curricular dos cadernos São Paulo faz escola de geografia do 6. ano do ensino fundamental II

Cartography is one of the languages that express the knowledge of the geographic space and, therefore, the official curriculum proposals have highlighted the importance of the geography teaching which articulates its contents with this language in primary education. So, we present an analysis of the content selected to the curriculum mapping specifications of the São Paulo faz escola material, specifically for the 6th year of Elementary School II, version 2009. From the perspective of qualitative research, with instruments and techniques of quantitative and qualitative research, we analyzed documents and observed little concern with the proposition works that present the physical and social characteristics of the state of São Paulo. Also, we noticed the lack of concern with representations in local and regional scales. The research brings many examples on the global scale. It explores few activities using graphics and charts. Despite bringing thematic maps in their entirety, it does not show an example of conical projection as well as cartograms and anamorphosis. A arte do teatro na educação durante a infância: a percepção dos professores acerca de suas contribuições

Seeking new ways to be used in the process of teaching and learning, he turned a look at alternative lines of research, going to value the arts in education, and inside, there has been a major focus of the relationship to both the theater and education. Currently, the theater has been the subject of research in education and has been also widely used as an educational resource, and its adoption by professionals is based on studies showing the contributions of the theater to child development. The theater, while playing, artistic expression and involves imagination, creation and sociability.This paper presents child development in all its phases, the importance of games, especially the symbolic games, during this process, through the perspective of Jean Piaget, a brief history of the theater within the education and the contributions actuallyits use as methodology of teaching and learning brings to children's development of the early years of elementary school, bringing the discussion as teachers' perception about the real possibility of its use in schools as a way of teaching and learning.
