Due to the popularity and need to learn sign language, there are tools that help in this type of communication. In Brazil, for example, the government offers professional Sign Language to assist communities, however, if think the hypothesis that people live in places difficult access, there is a difficult in movement of professionals to such places, besides bringing government overspending. Thus, a tool that simulates the movements of professional, fully exploiting the technological resources (cost-benefit) to enrich and provide a tool for communities, it becomes possible order to fill this gap. The system provides resources for editing movements, and these, later, are retrieved by tool for the visualization and representation of signals in a Virtual Environment. The resources used, provide two unconventional devices for tracking body, the Wiimote controllers and P5 glove.

História da comunicação social: um campo em construção

Not intending to exhaust the subject, we will attempt to show the issue status in the construction of the History of Mass Media. An initial literature review, in order to identify works relating to the subject, shows us how this issue has gone unnoticed in Academy. Expert authors in the history of every media outlet (newspaper, radio, television, movies, and more recently, internet) have been rising, but few have faced the challenge of building a History of Media. There are many reasons to justify this. It comes from the fact it is a young science, in construction, to the absence of a clear definition regarding the subject matter, sources, and methods of their own area of expertise. After all, journalism and film, for example, can be inserted in the same methodological procedure?

Comunicação pública, transparência e políticas públicas: avaliação de informações em portais brasileiros de governo

An expansion of the professional field of Public Relations can be seen nowadays, influenced by factors such as the increasing use of information and communications technologies for the dissemination of information on public management and the potential creation of dialogue between government and citizens. Despite this trend, there is still a need for specific knowledge about normative aspects of public communication generated by governments on the internet and its role in the fulfillment of the right to information. This article offers a contribution to fulfill the gap of guidelines and standards for professional performance. It describes the results of empirical research which identified the potential contribution of government web portals of the main cities of São Paulo, in the southeastern Brazil, to the strengthening of citizenship, considered in its dimension of exercising the right to information about public policies, particularly those which have an impact on education. The depth and breadth of information were investigated according with twelve categories of evaluation: history; diagnoses; goals; goals; resources and current actions; planned resources and actions; efficiency; effectiveness; impact; cost-effectiveness; user satisfaction; and equity. The data found on the analyzed portals correspond to the average of 11% of which was considered, under the theoretical-methodological context of the research, as information necessary to comprise the full characterization of a public policy in relation to the categories of assessment. Opportunities to improve government web portals were detected, for which we suggest communication management strategies.

Capas de Vicente Di Grado na década de 1960

O resgate da história e da memória do design gráfico brasileiro ainda possui algumas lacunas, pois muitos profissionais, seus projetos e obras não são lembrados ou ainda não foram estudados e registrados, deixando uma lacuna na história gráfico-visual de nosso país. Este artigo pretende contribuir nesse sentido, resgatando as capas de livros projetadas por Vicente Di Grado. Designer gráfico, artista plástico e docente, Di Grado (1922-2005) atuou como principal capista para a Editora Clube do Livro entre as décadas de 1950 e 1970, sendo seu maior período de produção a década de 1960, justamente o objeto deste estudo. Pelo conjunto de seu trabalho, recebeu o Prêmio Jabuti em 1963. Sua obra representa uma grande fonte de elementos e referências gráficas, além de ter marcado a linguagem editorial da Editora Clube do Livro.

Há sinergia entre o sistema lean manufacturing e a gestão ambiental? mapeando o estado da arte

In recent decades, two research themes have been prominent in the academic and organizational setting: lean manufacturing and green management. Since 1996, when Florida (1996) wrote an article focusing on the synergy between these two areas, the debate if “Lean is Green?” enters in the academic field. It is in this context that this research presents the results of a systematic literature on the topic, focusing on the characteristics, positive and negative impacts, lean paradigms, green paradigms and design of supply chains. To perform this procedure it were followed the methodological footsteps of Lage Junior and Godinho Filho (2010). The research occurred in the database Scopus and it was conducted from June, 2012 to July, 2012.The key word used was “green lean” and as search filter it were included only articles and conference Papers. Their main result is a deep analysis of the accumulated knowledge on the subject, where it is revealed that the majority of studies point to the synergy between some components of the lean manufacturing system in relation to environmental management. The research gap found is related to articles that address the entropy of the union of lean and green systems.

Participação de mulheres na gestão esportiva: uma revisão sistemática

During the last decades of the XX century occurred several demographic, cultural and social changes that directly affected the inclusion of women in the labor market. However many of them have found and still find barriers to work in various fields of endeavor and in the case of this study, the sports management. The purpose of this study was to assess through a systematic review, the participation of women in sports management, listing the main characteristics, challenges and difficulties. The research consisted of a systematic review of studies that discuss the thematic related to the participation of women in sport management in Brazil, including the Google Scholar database. The key words used and that generated proceeds were woman, sports management and women in sports administration. In the discussion and results has been possible to list the insert forms in a management position, the main ones being: by invitation, conduction or family relationship. The arguments about the limited participation of women in sports management and their encountered barriers are justified because there is a male domain and prejudice, resulting often the career waiver for these women. The profile of the sporting managers has found a predominance of men aged between 30-49 years old. For unavailability of articles, the present study was restricted to use only one database. In short, there is a lacuna in studies on women's participation in the administration or sporting management, with a prevalence of literature review articles. To expand overview on this issue would be important to carry out quantitative studies. It was concluded that the difficulty of women entering in sports management still seems to be a current problem and can only be minimized from a greater attention from the scientific community. A sífilis na gestação e sua influência na morbimortalidade materno-infantil

Syphilis in pregnancy is a public health problem, responsible for the high intrauterine mortality rates. This article aims to present a review of historical and epidemiological aspects, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, the treatment of maternal and congenital syphilis, and its perinatal repercussions. The manuscript also describes the Brazilian main policies in public health care for pregnant women with syphilis and for congenital syphilis eradication. The set of words used were “congenital syphilis”, “syphilis in pregnancy” and “syphilis prenatal care”. The databases searched were PubMed (National Library of Medicine - USA), SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), LILACS (Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences), PAHO (Pan American Health Organization), IBECS, and WHOLIS Cochrane Library, from 1980 to 2011. Fifty-six articles were included in this review, 18 institutional technical manuals, two textbooks and 36 articles relating to maternal and congenital syphilis. The present review showed that there is a gap between intention and action needed to control and eradicate the disease especially with regard to the expansion of access, not only in relation to the number of visits recommended male gender, it is important to assess the quality of their content as well as the actions to be carried out between appointments.
