Optimal recording wavelength for nonvolatile photorefractive holograms in Ce : Cu : LiNbO

Three wavelengths of red, green and blue of recording beams are systemically tested for the UV-assistant recording and optical fixing of holograms in a strongly oxidized Ce:Cu:LiNbO3 crystal. Three different photorefractive phenomena are observed. It is shown that the green beams will optimally generate a critical strong nonvolatile hologram with quick sensitivity and the optimal switching technique could be jointly used to obtain a nearly 100% high diffraction. Theoretical verification is given, and a prescription on the doping densities and on the oxidation/reduction states of the material to match a defined recording wavelength for high diffraction is suggested.

Metalotioneinen mailak eta metalen banaketa Ag eta Cu pean mantendutako ostretan

Laburpena: Ikerlan hau itsasoaren kutsaduran zentratzen da, itsasoak arriskutsuak eta kaltegarriak diren substantziak jasotzen dituelako, bai ibaietako ekarpenarengatik, baita zuzeneko karguetatik. Organismo behale gisa ostrak erabiliko dira, izaki iragazleak izanik elikagaien irenstearen ondorioz medio urtsutik kutsatzaileak metatzen dituztelako eta gainera, ingurugiroan dauden mailen gainetik kontzentratzen dituztelako. Ostretan zilarra (Ag) eta kobrea (Cu) bezalako metalen eragina aztertuko da, horretarako, metalen aurreko esposizio biomarkatzaileak erabiliko dira. Besteak beste, autometalografia erabiliko da metalen mailak eta banaketa ostren ehunetan neurtzeko eta metalotioneinen mailak ere neurtuko dira. Ostrek metalekiko izan duten esposizio denborak 0, 6, 7, 13 eta 14 egunetakoak izan dira, bai itsasoko eta bai estuarioko uretan mantenduz. Emaitzak ikusita behatu da estuarioko laginek, normalean, metal kontzentrazio baxuagoak aurkezten dituztela, eta zenbait kasutan kontrolek metalen pean jarritako laginak baino metal kontzentrazio handiagoak erakutsi dituzte aste bat igaro eta gero. Bigarren astean, metal mailen jaitsiera bat behatu da. Beste alde batetik, metalotioneinetan neurtutako indukzio mailak oso baxuak izan dira. Metalen distribuzioa ehun desberdinetan aldez aurretik beste molusku batzuetan deskribatutakoen oso antzekoa izan da ostretan.

Synthesis, spectral, and thermal characterizations of Ni(II) and Cu(II) beta-diketone complexes with thenoyltrifluoroacetone ligand

Two kinds of nickel(II) and copper(II) P-diketone complexes derived from thenoyltrifluoroacetone ligand with blue-violet light absorption were synthesized by reacting free ligand and different metal(II) ions in sodium methoxide solution. Their structures were postulated based on elemental analysis, ESI-MS, FT-IR spectra and UV-vis electronic absorption spectra. Smooth films on K9 glass substrates were prepared using the spin-coating method. Blue green emission from a Cu+-Doped transparent material prepared by sintering porous glass

A colorless transparent, blue green emission material was fabricated by sintering porous glass impregnated with copper ions. The emission spectral profile obtained from Cu+ -doped high silica glass (HSG) by 267-mn monochromatic light excitation matches that obtained by pumping with an 800-nm femtosecond laser, indicating that the emissions in both cases come from an identical origin. The upconversion emission excited by 800-nm femtosecond laser is considered to be a three-photon excitation process. A tentative scheme of upconverted emission from Cu+ -doped HSG was also proposed. The glass materials presented herein are expected to find application in lamps, high density optical storage, and three-dimensional color displays.

A partir de abril de 1500 a armada de Pedro Álvares Cabral dá início ao contato e ao registro através das páginas da carta de seu escrivão, Pero Vaz de Caminha de um novo mundo e uma nova humanidade: os índios que habitavam o território que atualmente conhecemos por Brasil. Practical vortex diodes from pinning enhanced YBa2 Cu 3 O7-δ

We identify a scalable, practical route to fabricating a superconducting diode. The device relies for its function on the barrier to flux vortex entry being reduced at the substrate interface of a superconducting pinning enhanced YBa2 Cu3 O7-δ nanocomposite film. We show that these composite systems provide a practical route to fabricating a useful superconducting diode and demonstrate the rectification of an alternating current. © 2009 American Institute of Physics.

Role of f electrons in the Fermi surface of the heavy fermion superconductor beta-YbAlB4.

We present a detailed quantum oscillation study of the Fermi surface of the recently discovered Yb-based heavy fermion superconductor beta-YbAlB4. We compare the data, obtained at fields from 10 to 45 T, to band structure calculations performed using the local density approximation. Analysis of the data suggests that f holes participate in the Fermi surface up to the highest magnetic fields studied. We comment on the significance of these findings for the unconventional superconducting properties of this material.

Enhancement of ferromagnetic properties in In1.99Co0.01O3 by additional Cu doping

This paper reports room-temperature ferromagnetism in Co- and Cu-doped In2O3 samples synthesized by a solid-state reaction method. Structure and composition analyses revealed that Co and Cu were incorporated into the In2O3 lattices. Photoluminescence measurement revealed an additional emission at 520 urn from these doped samples. The magnetic measurement showed that additional Cu doping greatly enhanced the ferromagnetism of In1.99Co0.01O3 bulk samples. The implication of the effects of additional Cu doping is also discussed.
