Computerunterstützte Rigiditätsmessung zur Differenzierung psychopathologischer Gruppen [Computer-assisted determination of rigidity in the differentiation of psychopathologic groups]

The measurement of rigidity and perseveration respectively gets increasing importance in clinical psychodiagnostics. Recently we have developed a computer-assisted technique which allows to get information about inadequate persisting in psychic processes and behaviour within shortest time and to differentiate between psychopathological groups. 257 patients of both sexes who came for elucidation of their disorders to the department of clinical psychodiagnostics were investigated. The most significant differences between the groups were found in redundance of second degree (the patient has to press 10 buttons indiscriminately according to the beat of a metronom--standard condition) and in personal speed (the patient has to press 10 buttons as fast as possible--speed condition). Furthermore the psychopathological groups were ranged in the particular variables of rigidity according to their mean values and their average ranges the schizophrenics and effective psychoses were characterized by a high tendency of perseveration while the neurotics, patients with organic brain syndrome and alcohol and drug dependents showed more flexibility.

HTPSELEX--a database of high-throughput SELEX libraries for transcription factor binding sites.

HTPSELEX is a public database providing access to primary and derived data from high-throughput SELEX experiments aimed at characterizing the binding specificity of transcription factors. The resource is primarily intended to serve computational biologists interested in building models of transcription factor binding sites from large sets of binding sequences. The guiding principle is to make available all information that is relevant for this purpose. For each experiment, we try to provide accurate information about the protein material used, details of the wet lab protocol, an archive of sequencing trace files, assembled clone sequences (concatemers) and complete sets of in vitro selected protein-binding tags. In addition, we offer in-house derived binding sites models. HTPSELEX also offers reasonably large SELEX libraries obtained with conventional low-throughput protocols. The FTP site contains the trace archives and database flatfiles. The web server offers user-friendly interfaces for viewing individual entries and quality-controlled download of SELEX sequence libraries according to a user-defined sequencing quality threshold. Prototipação e usabilidade em interfaces para aplicações móveis

Como já é de conhecimento de todos as tecnologias móveis permitem aceder à informação em qualquer lugar e em qualquer altura. Por isso, essas tecnologias móveis podem facilitar o dia-a-dia dos utilizadores, e tornar mais eficiente e eficaz a prestação de serviços. Os profissionais da universidade necessitam de partilhar e aceder à informação adequada para auxiliar nos serviços frequentes do dia-a-dia. Assim a existência de uma interface que interage e disponibilize as diversas informações pode trazer grandes benefícios. Analisando ainda dentro desse contexto existe actualmente alguma falha no sector académico, visto que ainda existe dificuldades em aceder à informação a quem dela necessita, antes pelo contrário, originando atrasos nos afazeres do dia-a-dia. Em muitos casos a introdução de tecnologias pode evitar a ocorrência de problemas. No entanto os profissionais têm de estar preparados para a evolução dos actuais processos nos serviços académicos. Desenvolver um protótipo para aplicações móveis nesta área constitui um desafio, pois não basta somente conhecer os processos realizados pelos potenciais utilizadores, sendo igualmente necessário assegurar que funcionam do mesmo modo quando são executados através de um equipamento com características muito próprias, como os dispositivos de computação móvel.
