Análise de gestão da comunicação interna - Estudo de Caso: Agências/serviços da Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde na Cidade da Praia

O presente documento, de carácter científico, insere-se no âmbito do trabalho de conclusão do curso de Licenciatura em Psicologia, variante Social e Social e das Organizações na Universidade Jean Piaget de Cabo Verde. Este trabalho visa analisar a gestão da comunicação interna nas agências/serviços da Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde (CECV) da cidade da Praia. Trata-se de um tema pertinente e decorrente e, que permite ter um conhecimento mais aprofundado do processo da comunicação interna nas agências/serviços da CECV.

La sociolinguistique en psychiatrie de liaison: un certain regard [Sociolinguistics and liaison psychiatry]

Verbal language is a major tool of medical communication. However, its use can be problematic, namely because the speakers of a given language do not necessarily agree on the meaning of the words they exchange. This phenomenon is usually called linguistic variability. Based on a famous political and legal case and medical examples, we will show how variability is a critical source of misunderstandings and other communicational breakdowns. In addition, we will suggest some strategies which are likely to limit the impact of variability on clinician/patient interaction.

Coleoptera species of forensic importance from Brazil: an updated list

ABSTRACT A list of the Coleoptera of importance from Brazil, based on published records was compiled. The checklist contains 345 species of 16 families allocated to 16 states of the country. In addition, three species of two families are registered for the first time. The fauna of Coleoptera of forensic importance is still not entirely known and future collection efforts and taxonomic reviews could increase the number of known species considerably in the near future.

Invertebrados marinos acompañantes de la merluza peruana en verano 2004: Crucero BIC Olaya 0401-02

Se capturaron tres invertebrados como parte de la fauna acompañante de la merluza Merluccius gayi peruanus: (1) el calamar gigante o pota Dosidicus gigas, cuya talla o longitud del manto (LM) tuvo rango de 39 a 108 cm; su principal presa fue la merluza peruana; en relación al proceso de reproducción, predominó el estadio madurante en hembras y el de evacuación en machos; (2) el calamar común Loligo gahi, que presentó una gradación latitudinal de tallas, fue mayor hacia el sur y con predominio de ejemplares pequeños e inmaduros en 3 y 4°S; (3) el camaroncito rojo o múnida Pleuroncodes monodon, en cuya población predominaron los machos cuya longitud del cefalotórax fue superior a 26 mm.

Adolescent(e)s migrant(e)s et sexualité [Migrant adolescents and sexuality].

Besides its emotional, hormonal and physical components, sexuality has also an important social function. Analyzing these interactions in immigrant adolescents who are challenged at the same time by developmental changes and modified cultural and social rules--especially if they differ from the rules assimilated during childhood--might help professionals to access better comprehension. Personal experience, individual and external resources, whether they are family oriented or professional, are prone to influence on behavior, perception and outcome related to sexual health. The subject is discussed on the base of scientific literature and medical practice.

The effect of fluoxetine on the pharmacokinetics and safety of risperidone in psychotic patients

In this open, 30-day trial, the pharmacokinetics, safety and tolerability of a combination therapy of risperidone (4 or 6 mg/day)and fluoxetine (20mg/day from day 6) were evaluated in 11 psychotic inpatients. CYP2D6 genotyping revealed that 3 and 8 patients were poor metabolizers (PMs) and extensive metabolizers (EMs) of debrisoquine, respectively. The mean (+/- SD) AUC of risperidone increased from 83.1 +/- 46.8 ng.h/ml and 398.3 +/- 33.2 ng.h/ml (monotherapy) to 345.1 +/- 158.0 ng.h/ml (p < 0.05) and 514.0 +/- 144.2 ng.h/ml (p < 0.001) when coadministered with fluoxetine in EMs and PMs, respectively. The AUC of the active moiety (risperidone plus 9-hydroxy-risperidone) increased from 470.0 +/- 170.0 ng.h/ml to 663.0 +/- 243.3 ng.h/ml (p < 0.05)and from 576.3 +/- 19.6 ng.h/ml to 788.0 +/- 89.1 ng.h/ml (ns) in EMs and PMs, respectively. In EMs, the AUC of 9-hydroxy-risperidone remained similar (monotherapy vs. combination therapy: 386.8 +/- 153.0 ng.h/ml vs. 317.7 +/- 125.2 ng.h/ml, ns),whereas it increased in PMs (178.3 +/- 23.5 ng.h/ml vs. 274.0 +/- 55.1 ng.h/ml (p < 0.05)). Ten of the 11 patients showed a clinical improvement (reduction of 20% or more in total PANSS score and 70% on the mean MADRS score compared to baseline). The severity and incidence of extrapyramidal symptoms and adverse events did not significantly increase when fluoxetine was added.

Genome-wide association study to identify common variants associated with brachial circumference: a meta-analysis of 14 cohorts.

Brachial circumference (BC), also known as upper arm or mid arm circumference, can be used as an indicator of muscle mass and fat tissue, which are distributed differently in men and women. Analysis of anthropometric measures of peripheral fat distribution such as BC could help in understanding the complex pathophysiology behind overweight and obesity. The purpose of this study is to identify genetic variants associated with BC through a large-scale genome-wide association scan (GWAS) meta-analysis. We used fixed-effects meta-analysis to synthesise summary results across 14 GWAS discovery and 4 replication cohorts comprising overall 22,376 individuals (12,031 women and 10,345 men) of European ancestry. Individual analyses were carried out for men, women, and combined across sexes using linear regression and an additive genetic model: adjusted for age and adjusted for age and BMI. We prioritised signals for follow-up in two-stages. We did not detect any signals reaching genome-wide significance. The FTO rs9939609 SNP showed nominal evidence for association (p<0.05) in the age-adjusted strata for men and across both sexes. In this first GWAS meta-analysis for BC to date, we have not identified any genome-wide significant signals and do not observe robust association of previously established obesity loci with BC. Large-scale collaborations will be necessary to achieve higher power to detect loci underlying BC.

Nodal staging in colorectal cancer: should distant lymph nodes be recovered in surgical specimens?

To assess the value of sampling lymph nodes located far sidelong colorectal cancer specimens, we analyzed retrospectively surgical specimens from 345 colorectal cancer patients. The mesocolic and perirectal fat was divided into 2 fractions: close to (<5 cm) and distant from (>5 cm) the tumor. Tumors were located in the cecum (n = 61), ascending colon (n = 29), transverse colon (n = 31), descending colon (n = 27), sigmoid colon (n = 108), and rectum (n = 89). The median number of lymph nodes sampled was 17 in both fractions (range, 4-66), 12 (range, 0-46) in the close fraction, and 3 (range, 0-33) in the distant fraction. There were 169 pN0, 104 pN1, and 72 pN2 cases. The pN staging was accurate in all cases except 10 based on the close fraction alone; of these, 6 were upstaged from pN0 to pN1 and 4 from pN1 to pN2 when the distant fraction was considered. Among pN1-upstaged cases, 5 were rectal (3/5 with neoadjuvant radiotherapy) and 1 colonic. In the colon, we found that lymph node location is more important than lymph node number because metastatic lymph nodes were present mostly in the peritumoral area. This suggests that lymph nodes should be initially recovered from the pericolic fat close to the tumor. If there are less than 4 positive lymph nodes and less than 12 lymph nodes examined in total, additional lymph nodes should be retrieved from the distal fraction for potential upstaging. In the rectum, systematic sampling of close and distant lymph nodes is mandatory because in rare cases, metastases are detected only in distant lymph nodes, particularly in patients who have undergone neoadjuvant radiotherapy.
