El projecte és un estudi dels distints productes que es poden trobar per aconseguir la persistència dels objectes entre diferents sessions. Aquest projecte s'engloba dins la tecnologia Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE).

El projecte de fi de carrera proposat consisteix en l'anàlisi, disseny i implementació d'un conjunt de components que simplifiquen la construcció de la capa de presentació per a aplicacions web, servint de base per al desenvolupament d'altres productes.

Anàlisi, disseny e implementació d'una aplicació de comerç electrònic en la plataforma J2EE amb Struts e Hibernate

El present treball consisteix en l'anàlisi, disseny e implementació d¿una aplicació de comerçelectrònic equiparable en la seva forma bàsica a una botiga virtual de productes genèricsdisponible a Internet mitjançant el servei web. S'inclou en l'aplicació tant la part pública o frontend, consistent en la part accessible al públic, on s'efectuen els actes de negoci amb usuaris externs al sistema, com la part privada o back-end, destinada a les tasques de mantenimentper a l'administrador de la botiga.

Estudi comparatiu del mercat de les eines de gestió de projectes informàtics

Aquest treball es basa en l'avaluació de productes informàtics de gestió de projectes que hi ha al mercat. A més, en el segon capítol es presenten les diferents eines que ofereix Internet, com ara cercadors de cercadors, portals o comunitats i el Copèrnic (un programa que fa cerques dintre dels ginys que hi ha a Internet i que presenta els deu millors resultats de cada un), per tal de fer la recerca tan ràpida i eficient com sigui possible.

Aplicació per a la sol·licitud de recursos informàtics

L'objectiu d'aquest treball és l'exposició detallada de les etapes d'anàlisi, disseny i prototip del projecte de Sol·licituds de Recursos Informàtics. La finalitat d'aquest projecte és la creació d'una eina colaborativa de workflow (circuit de treball) que permeti gestionar de manera eficaç les peticions de serveis o productes rebudes pel departament de tecnologies d'una empresa mitjana/gran, informant en cada moment del seu cicle de vida les persones involucrades en la mateixa.

Electronic monitoring of compliance to lipid-lowering therapy in clinical practice

Nonadherence to treatment is a common problem in the clinical management of hypercholesterolemic patients. This study was carried out with the aim of monitoring the daily compliance to a 6-month course of lipid-lowering therapy, using a microelectronic device, the Medication Event Monitoring System (MEMS), versus pill count. Forty men with primary hypercholesterolemia were prescribed fluvastatin 1 x 40 mg daily, provided in a MEMS package to record the date and time of each opening of the pillbox. Thirty-nine of 40 patients (98%) completed the study. Total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels decreased significantly (18% and 25%, p < 0.001) during the 6-month therapy period. A high mean rate of compliance was achieved by MEMS using the following three indexes--compliance to total prescribed dose (88.8% +/- 13.5%), compliance to prescribed days (82.4% +/- 19.5%), and compliance to prescribed time of day (81.86% +/- 19.5%)--and by pill count (93.4% +/- 9.5%). In addition, the MEMS provided some patterns of nonadherence to medication, undetectable by pill count alone, such as a drug holiday in 38% of cases, a drug omission for more than 7 consecutive days in 9% of cases, and, conversely, use of more than the one prescribed daily dose in 47% of cases. A significant correlation between the rate of compliance and the decrease in LDL cholesterol was observed only when the compliance was assessed by MEMS. The results indicate that MEMS is a useful tool for monitoring compliance in clinical practice and may possibly increase adherence to long-term lipid-lowering therapy.

Comparació de SIG basats en codi lliure i SIG comercials.

El Projecte de Fi de Carrera desenvolupat consisteix, breument, en comparar un Sistema de Informació Geogràfica (SIG) comercial amb un de lliure. Per tant els objectius del projecte són conèixer què és un SIG, introduir-se en el món del programari lliure dels SIG, aprendre a treballar amb ambdós productes i saber detectar els punts més rellevants de cadascun d'ells.

El projecte estarà dedicat a dos tipus de clients: particulars i industrials ia la gestió que s'haurà de fer dels productes oferts (altes, baixes, manteniments, etc.). El web estarà configurada en un servidor d'aplicacions i constarà de dues parts: La interfície de l'administrador per al manteniment dels clients i articles i la interfície del client que li permetrà navegar pel catàleg i així poder fer les comandes dels productes que estiguin interessats. Utilitzarem els estàndards que ofereix el mercat per al programari de servidor (JSP, Struts, J2EE, etc.).

Reconstituted human polyclonal plasma-derived secretory-like IgM and IgA maintain the barrier function of epithelial cells infected with an enteropathogen.

Intravenous administration of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies has proven to be a clinically valid approach in the treatment, or at least relief, of many acute and chronic pathologies, such as infection, immunodeficiency, and a broad range of autoimmune conditions. Plasma-derived IgG or recombinant IgG are most frequently used for intravenous or subcutaneous administration, whereas a few IgM-based products are available as well. We have established recently that secretory-like IgA and IgM can be produced upon association of plasma-derived polymeric IgA and IgM with a recombinant secretory component. As a next step toward potential future mucosal administration, we sought to unravel the mechanisms by which these secretory Igs protect epithelial cells located at the interface between the environment and the inside of the body. By using polarized epithelial Caco-2 cell monolayers and Shigella flexneri as a model enteropathogen, we found that polyspecific plasma-derived SIgA and SIgM fulfill many protective functions, including dose-dependent recognition of the antigen via formation of aggregated immune complexes, reduction of bacterial infectivity, maintenance of epithelial cell integrity, and inhibition of proinflammatory cytokine/chemokine production by epithelial cells. In this in vitro model devoid of other cellular or molecular interfering partners, IgM and secretory IgM showed stronger bacterial neutralization than secretory IgA. Together, these data suggest that mucosally delivered antibody preparations may be most effective when combining both secretory-like IgA and IgM, which, together, play a crucial role in preserving several levels of epithelial cell integrity.

Identification of tumor-associated antigens by large-scale analysis of genes expressed in human colorectal cancer.

Despite the high prevalence of colon cancer in the world and the great interest in targeted anti-cancer therapy, only few tumor-specific gene products have been identified that could serve as targets for the immunological treatment of colorectal cancers. The aim of our study was therefore to identify frequently expressed colon cancer-specific antigens. We performed a large-scale analysis of genes expressed in normal colon and colon cancer tissues isolated from colorectal cancer patients using massively parallel signal sequencing (MPSS). Candidates were additionally subjected to experimental evaluation by semi-quantitative RT-PCR on a cohort of colorectal cancer patients. From a pool of more than 6000 genes identified unambiguously in the analysis, we found 2124 genes that were selectively expressed in colon cancer tissue and 147 genes that were differentially expressed to a significant degree between normal and cancer cells. Differential expression of many genes was confirmed by RT-PCR on a cohort of patients. Despite the fact that deregulated genes were involved in many different cellular pathways, we found that genes expressed in the extracellular space were significantly over-represented in colorectal cancer. Strikingly, we identified a transcript from a chromosome X-linked member of the human endogenous retrovirus (HERV) H family that was frequently and selectively expressed in colon cancer but not in normal tissues. Our data suggest that this sequence should be considered as a target of immunological interventions against colorectal cancer.
