Efeitos da amonização sobre o valor nutritivo do feno de capim-braquiária

This work was conducted to determine the effects of ammoniation and supplementation on the nutritive value of signal grass (Brachiaria decumbens Stapf) hay. The hay was treated with anhydrous ammonia (3.0% DM) and introduced into the rations for sheep with 12.00% of CP, identified as T1 grass hay without NH3 + cotton seed meal; T2 = treated hay (3.0% de NH3); T3 = treated hay (3.0% de NH3) + com grain meal; T4 = hay + cotton seed meal + corn grain meal. nit: following coefficients of digestibility were determined for T1, T2, T3 e T4, respectively: DM (54.90; 55.50); 54.50; and 56.12%); NI)I: (51.36; 60.20; 55.30; and 48.35%); ADF (47.36; 58.66; 56.03; and 47.07%); hemicellulose (58.80; 63.32; 56.00; and 49.70%); cellulose (55.58; 71.80; 68.07; and 58.21%); lignin (10.10; 32.18; 31.74; and 0.72%) and protein (64.6; 59.36; 56.16; and 70. 15%). nle N balances for T1, T2, T3 and T4 were 5.69; 3.88; 3.90; and 8,82 g N/day. It was concluded that the ammoniation was equivalent to the vegetable protein supplementation in the rations. Furthermore, this treatment showed a greater potential to increase fiber digestion, particulary for ADF and cellulose.

Perturbative breaking of the pseudospin symmetry in the relativistic harmonic oscillator

We show that relativistic mean fields theories with scalar S, and vector V, quadratic radial potentials can generate a harmonic oscillator with exact pseudospin symmetry and positive energy bound states when S = -V. The eigenenergies are quite different from those of the non-relativistic harmonic oscillator. We also discuss a mechanism for perturbatively breaking this, symmetry by introducing a tensor potential. Our results shed light into the intrinsic relativistic nature of the pseudospin symmetry, which might be important in high density systems such as neutron stars.

A New Indirect Electrochemical Method for Determination of Ozone in Water Using Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes

Synthesis and characterization of ruthenium complexes immobilized on poly(4-vinylpyridine)

The [Ru(NH3)5(H2O)]2+ and trans-[Ru(NH3)4SO2(H2O)]2+ complexes ions were immobilized on poly(4-vinylpyridine) (4-PVP) through reactions in aqueous solutions. The stability of the imobilized complexes was checked in aqueous solution in the pH 2.0-8.0 range. The number of pyridinic nitrogens in the polymer 4-PVP is 2.80±0.05 mmol/g according to nitrogen elemental analysis. Potentiometric titration experiments showed that the accessible nitrogen, in aqueous medium, was 0.94±0.02 mmol/g with a p Ka value of 7.4±0.2. In addition, ruthenium and sulfate analysis has demonstrated that about 15% of the accessible nitrogen sites are able to coordinate to the metal centers. The characterization of the immobilized complexes was made through diffuse electronic and infrared spectroscopies and differential pulse and cyclic voltammetries. © 1993 Plenum Publishing Corporation.

Structural and surface morphology characterizations of oriented LiNbO3 thin films grown by polymeric precursor method

Polymeric precursor solution was used to deposit LiNbO3 thin films by dip coating on sapphire substrates. The effects of processing variables, such as heat treatment conditions and number of deposited layers, on crystallinity and morphology of the final films were investigated. X-ray diffraction patterns show the oriented growth of the films. The rocking curves, obtained around the (006) LiNbO3 peak, revealed that the shape peak and the FWHM value were influenced by the processing variables. According to these parameters, some films presented very homogeneous dense and smooth surfaces, as shown by the SEM and AFM studies.

Open and standardized tools for smart transducer networking

IEEE 1451 Standard is intended to address the smart transducer interfacing problematic in network environments. Usually, proprietary hardware and software is a very efficient solution to in planent the IEEE 1451 normative, although can be expensive and inflexible. In contrast, the use of open and standardized tools for implementing the IEEE 1451 normative is proposed in this paper. Tools such as Java and Phyton programming languages, Linux, programmable logic technology, Personal Computer resources and Ethernet architecture were integrated in order to constructa network node based on the IEEE 1451 standards. The node can be applied in systems based on the client-server communication model The evaluation of the employed tools and expermental results are presented. © 2005 IEEE.

Defensor de los derechos humanos: homenaje a Raoul Wallenberg

En la presente publicación se recogen las intervenciones realizadas por diversas personalidades en el acto solemne celebrado el 12 de noviembre de 2012 en la sede de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL), en conjunto con la Embajada de Israel y la Embajada de Suecia en Chile, con motivo del centenario del nacimiento de Raoul Wallenberg (1912-1947). La extraordinaria labor humanitaria desplegada por este diplomático sueco durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial es bien conocida en todo el mundo. Sus esfuerzos por salvar judíos húngaros de los horrores del Holocausto nazi son realmente asombrosos y únicos. Él, que libró a tantos de la muerte segura, que escamoteó miles de víctimas a los verdugos del totalitarismo racista, sucumbió a su vez en las manos de nuevos verdugos. Con la perspectiva de los años, su figura emerge como expresión concreta de humanismo y como inspiración para las nuevas generaciones.
