Blood is one of the most important and powerful elements in magical and religious symbology. As it is an essential substance for animal survival, it does not sound strange that through the ages blood has been given many significant symbolic values (both positive and negative). It can provide life, protection and prosperity in the same proportion that it can cause calamities, destruction and even death. In Opus agriculturae, a farming treatise written by Palladius (V AD), more specifically in Book I, Chapter 35, the author presents prescriptions to protect farms against scourges and climatic phenomena. He mentions some procedures in which blood is a fundamental component in the success of the prescriptions. The aim of the present article is to identify any magic power associated with these practices, their specific symbolic value, especially when related to menstrual blood and to other feminine elements with some magical or religious value. An evaluation is also made of the extent of these symbologies in the context of other practices and situations linked not only to agricultural magic, but to religion and to the ritual practices of other communities, whether in ancient times or not.

Over the past 60 years, the advancement of the sciences, the urbanization process of industrial centers, the mediatical advancement, the new family arrangements, the conquers of sexual minorities: homosexuals, transsexuals, transvestites, among other phenomena, coupled with the emphasis on individualism, and upon obtaining mediatical visibility, have softened the ethos of gender relationships in such a way to insert other approaches to the hegemony of the heteronormativity, whose resonances are present in and through symbolic exchanges with the other being, through which the contemporary subject comprises the subjectivation process.

The date refers to the first section of 14.5 km of railway in Brazil (30/04/1854), in Rio de Janeiro, between Mauá and Fragoso, of the Petropolis Railway Company (Estrada de Ferro Petrópolis). Some of the texts and commemorative events indicated the symbolic values that the railroad took in the Brazilian history. Firstly, on 30.04.1954, the railway section Mauá-Fragoso and steam locomotive “Baroness” (the first used on the track) were declared national monuments(Decree No. 35,447-A, April 30, 1954). This paper seeks to understand the mediation of cultural products devoted to childhood in the children's play culture. This research focused on a dialogue between the TV cartoons, which are foods to playfulness and fantasy that characterize childhood cultures; the ethics, because the questioning of symbolic mediators (ideas, values, norms, rules) are essential to reflect on the society we want to live, and Physical Education as a curriculum component, shall contribute to the critical mediation of the body culture and the sports arising out from the media, which has close relation with the practical and moral problems that arise in the classroom. To analyze the narrative structures of cartoons we have adopted the comprehensive methodology of Joan Ferrés. Such method suggests a hermeneuticphenomenological approach, which allowed to access Paul Ricoeur’s hermeneutics; as one interpretative method, it allows the reflection on our values, and also the values presented by the audiovisual product, and possible changes. Successive readings indicate that the narrative structure of TV cartoons responds to a double moral standard, which are constructed from stereotyped models between good and evil, right and wrong, villain and hero, and propose universal role models of conduct. However, some cartoons, mostly based on animé productions, have broader visions of the human common living experiences. We concluded that the current symbolic production of childhood cultures proposes one challenge to the Physical Education teacher: the critical mediation of values related to the movement body culture. Along with the support of moral philosophy, it can target his/her practice for understanding the different manners of (re)creation of the ways, and the living in society.

The study shows that there projetual hybridity in the design of the Surface Design and the same occurs in two distinct stages: the creative phase , where the inherent design specialties together for their training , and executive process in which the diversity of technical information and construction procedures to assist the integration of design with other productive areas . Identify the products presented its projected surface condition , based on concepts checked the state of the art Surface Design was an action that enabled the verification of functional, aesthetic and symbolic object concepts . To evaluate this condition are presented six case studies to verify the levels of cooperation and implementation of the specialties of Design in objects that are highlighted by presenting different surfaces. Among the products are: DKR chair, bench Pai João, bench R540, Híbridos table, Facetas table and bench Xique-xique.
