The present work aimed to study the composting process using two methods of treatment, conventional and mechanized for the treatment of pruning/weeding waste and organic waste generated in the canteens of the FCT/UNESP. For this work, it was quantified the generation of the waste However, of the tests with pure organic compound, which had the best result was T1 - 70% RPC / 30% ROC, again indicating the feasibility of applying this condition in scales at the campus. The conventional treatment by composting was carried out on manual aerated piles: 70% residue pruning/weeding (RPC) and 30% organic waste from the canteen (ROC); 50% RPC / 50% ROC, 30% RPC / 70% ROC. The mechanized system consisted of a reactor of 190 liters – 50% RPC / 50% ROC, with air injection from a compressor for 15 minutes daily. The parameters characterized and monitored were pH, organic matter, organic carbon, ash, nitrogen kjedahl and phosphorus. A crise ecológica, considerada reflexo de uma crise social por vários autores, tem na Educação Ambiental (EA) um dos caminhos possíveis na reversão desse quadro. Para isso, acreditamos que ela deva contemplar três dimensões (conhecimentos, participação e valores) que se articulam e se complementam. Particularmente interessadas na dimensão dos valores, voltamo-nos à questão da valorização estética da natureza. A dimensão estética, com destaque aqui para sua associação com a arte em geral, pode contribuir para a construção de uma visão de mundo menos fragmentada, na medida em que propicia ao educando a construção de novos valores e o desenvolvimento da sensibilidade, ampliando a perspectiva desenhada pela cultura em que ele está inserido. Reconhecendo o desafio que significa a abordagem da dimensão estética em projetos de EA, objetivamos com esta investigação, de caráter qualitativo, identificar os entendimentos e práticas de professores e de arte-educadores interessados no trabalho com EA, analisando os limites e possibilidades para o trabalho com essa dimensão. A pesquisa envolveu quatro professores de escolas públicas da cidade de Rio Claro-SP, participantes de um curso de formação docente cujo tema foi a EA e o trabalho com valores, e quatro arte-educadores que realizam trabalhos de EA. Os dados foram coletados a partir das transcrições de filmagens e de relatos das reuniões ocorridas ao longo do referido curso, da análise documental dos Planos de Ensinos e diários dos professores, observação das práticas dos professores, entrevistas e questionários respondidos pelos arte-educadores. Um dos principais aspectos que emergiu da análise dos dados refere-se à necessidade de se romper com o modelo racionalista adotado por nossa sociedade, o qual, dentre outras coisas, nega a sensibilidade a ponto de tornar a dimensão estética... The main objective of this work is to describe conceptions and practices of evaluation observed at a private language school. The theoretical background was gathered from Demo (2002a, 2002b), Luckesi (2001), Romão (2001), Shohamy (2001), Hughes (1994) and Depresbiteris (1989). Regarding the data collected, we made use of questionnaires, interviews, group discussions and diaries. Results show that the topics “fear of test” and “test content” were the most frequent ones. Furthermore, there was a harmonious relationship between teacher and students when tests were applied. We observed a “non-verbal agreement” between them, that is, there was a minimum content to be studied and to be asked on a test. We also noticed that classroom activities had a more complex level than the content actually tested.

In this article we present and discuss a number of beliefs about listening comprehension among students who were in their last year of a teachers’ certification Letters course in Italian and Portuguese. The data were collected by means of questionnaires answered by all the participating students, logs and interviews conducted with five of the participating students, classroom observation, lessons recorded on audio and video, and diaries. The study is supported by a rationale on beliefs and on definitions of listening comprehension as a skill. The analysis indicate that a number of students showed lack of motivation and low expectations about developing oral comprehension skills due to several drawbacks in foreign language learning during their teacher education course. However, other beliefs that emerged from the data, such as the importance of visual aids to help understanding an oral text, seem to have a positive effect towards a satisfactory proficiency level in oral comprehension.

The phenomenon of the World Wide Web, the Internet, has revolutionized the way we live in a contemporary relevance. The relationships among people have changed since the media also changed: the cyberspace has been established as an important vehicle of communication in which different languages, cultures and peoples coexist. Within the virtual space there are several fica possibilities for communication, interaction, fun, knowledge etc. Everything happens extremely quickly. An interesting example of that are blogs that, to survive virtuality, require constant updating. It has become interesting to notice the factor of personal expressiveness taking a new shape in the context of network, before being seen in elements such as diaries, poetry, artistic production or debate. The chances and, thus, the need to find people to interact and to share interests has taken a gigantic proportion, and, in this way, sources of audiovisual and reading activities are always in vogue, being shared every second. Blogging can be about different subjects, but what is perceived on all blogs is the strong trace of written text is always presented. Twitter has established itself as a microblogging network for the expression of dynamism, information sharing and interaction. Thus, it was interesting to approach the manner language is expressed in these microblogs thinking about the way that literary discourse is constructed when is seen, on quotations, in the context of this social network: Twitter. Being able to attest the great increase on the occurrences of quotes from different literary genres, it was useful to pay attention to this fact. In Brazil, Twitter has thousands of users, fans and readers, that rewrite and quote authors. The number of quotations is so abundant that it has popularized several Brazilian writers, such as: Clarice Lispector and Caio Fernando Abreu; authors that are frequetenly quoted. Circus activities have formed over the years as an important content to be exploited by the teachers in the school environment, and current projections, the inclusion of circus activities in physical education classes has been presented and defended by several authors. That being so, the objective was to offer a continuing education program thematising circus activities having as research focused on the analysis of this training process, as well as their implications, contributions, opportunities and challenges for teacher pedagogical practice. The research, qualitative, was developed in two phases: a questionnaire for physical education teachers working in public schools in order to highlight the reasons for the absence of most of the teachers in the training program. The second phase included the development of the continuing education program content circus activities in the continuing education of physical education teachers, the two teachers in the school environment, as well as analysis and reflection of teacher participation in the training program, described in daily class and daily meetings ending this step with a final interview. Participated in the study, 13 physical education teachers of the municipal school system of a city of São Paulo, of which only two teachers participated in the development of the training program in schools. The teachers manifestations through the questionnaire and participation in the training program showed that teachers make themselves available to participate in continuing education programs, however, the priorities of each teacher (such as family, leisure or other chores) can demarcate difficulties in establishing common to all teachers moments, preventing the effective participation of teachers within the continuing education programs.
