Les confidences de Zéro Legel, ou la poésie à bas bruit de Gilbert Langevin

L'une des particularités de l'univers de Gilbert Langevin consiste dans la création d'un double énigmatique, Zéro Legel (et de tout un cortège d'alias), qui accompagnera son oeuvre poétique de ses commencements jusqu'à la toute fin. Non sans raison, ces Écrits de Zéro Legel — fragments, aphorismes, proses diverses — ont souvent suscité un certain malaise chez les lecteurs de Langevin. Cette étude examine la première réception de ces textes inclassables et iconoclastes, et tente de réévaluer leur portée à partir des enjeux textuels mais aussi philosophiques qui y étaient engagés pour le poète. Relus dans cette perspective, l'investissement onomastique, les jeux de mots et autres détournements de maximes et de lieux communs pratiqués de manière extensive par Langevin témoignent surtout exemplairement de son rapport à la langue, les rapports troubles entre nom et identité de Zéro Legel relevant dès lors de la même opération qui pousse le poète à constamment s'affronter, à travers proverbes et aphorismes, à la loi de la langue.

Commentary on the Humble Remonstrance of the Company of Stationers 1643

A petition from the Company of Stationers to Parliament to introduce some form of legislative regulation of the press. The petition is significant in revealing the extent to which the Stationers depended upon the state to support the regulation of the book trade, as well as the nature of the various public and private interest arguments upon which they sought to base their claim. The commentary articulates the various arguments presented by the Stationers within their petition. The benefits of the legal regulation they suggested concerned not only the censorship and suppression of seditious and heretical texts, but also facilitated the advancement of learning and knowledge and the flourishing of the printing industry itself. In addition, the petition presents the figure of the ‘author' as reliant upon the benefit of his work, and that the ‘production of the Brain' was to be regarded as equivalent to any other commodity or chattel.

Commentary on Burnet v. Chetwood (1721)

Chancery case concerning the publication of a translation of a work protected under the Statute of Anne 1710. The decision established that the reproduction of works in translation was not unlawful under the 1710 Act. The decision is also significant, however, in relation to the court's inherent jurisdiction concerning the publication of works on grounds of public policy.
Drawing upon material in the National Archives the commentary explores the background to, and substance of, the decision as well as its relationship with current judicial practices in refusing the court's protection to copyright protected materials on the grounds that the content of the work is, for example, obscene, sexually immoral, defamatory, blasphemous or irreligious.

Unusual presentation of Gilbert disease with high levels of unconjugated bilirubin: report of two cases

Gilbert's syndrome is a benign condition characterized by asymptomatic sporadic episodes of jaundice, due to a mild unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia caused by a deficiency in bilirubin glucoronidation. Under certain physiologic or pathologic events, bilirubin level rises but according to literature it does not reach out more than 3 mg/dl. We report 2 cases of Gilbert's syndrome, genetically tested, which presented with bilirubin levels above 6 mg/dl without any trigger or coexisting condition. In conclusion, bilirubin levels higher than 6 mg/dl in Gilbert syndrome are rare, hemolytic and other metabolism diseases must be ruled out, and genetic testing may be necessary in some cases.
