Este artigo apresenta o método, critérios, atividades e produtos obtidos no mapeamento de risco de escorregamentos realizado em ocupações urbanas subnormais na cidade de São Paulo para subsidiar a implantação de medidas de mitigação destes riscos. A necessidade de questionar o “conceito essencial da educação” e de assumiruma postura crítica em face das “concepções usualmente presentes a respeitodos fins da educação” motivou o desenvolvimento desta investigação. Nossaintenção é contribuir para uma reflexão sobre os fundamentos da razão e daspráticas educativas de maneira geral e da educação ambiental em especial.Assim, entendemos como significativo investigar as concepções de educação eeducação ambiental presentes nos trabalhos de pesquisa e nos ensaios críticosapresentados no I Encontro de Pesquisa em Educação Ambiental (julho/2001).As questões que orientaram esta investigação podem ser assim sistematizadas:que concepções de educação e educação ambiental podem ser identificadas nostrabalhos apresentados no I EPEA? Que elementos ou indícios podem serevidenciados nos textos que permitem a identificação de tais concepções?Tanto a coleta de dados como a análise destes foram realizadas a partir dospressupostos da “análise de conteúdo”, privilegiando o desenvolvimento deanálises temáticas. A dimensão política do processo educativo,consubstanciada a partir das perspectivas de transformação social e daconstrução do ideal de cidadania, destaca-se nos textos analisados. Aconcretização de tal perspectiva, segundo os textos, deve considerar nasjustificativas, objetivos, diretrizes e/ou princípios o processo de participação, ainterdisciplinaridade, o desenvolvimento de valores, as relações local-global-local,o potencial de conflitos socioambientais, entre outros. Considerando o risco dapresença de concepções nos textos de pesquisas em educação ambiental que seaproximam de uma perspectiva “tradicional” ou “tecnicista”, associadas, às vezes, a um processo de instrumentalização da educação ambiental, assumindo, assim,uma perspectiva pragmática, entendemos ser necessário a busca da perspectivahumanizadora da educação.

Descrito como o presente Privilégio de Invenção, refere-se a um processo que possibilita a desinfecção do substrato de fermentação, sem adição de agentes tóxicos, de modo a garantir a compatibilidade ambiental da atividade alcooleira, para tanto, a presente invenção garante a desinfecção do substrato de fermentação eliminando as bactérias, que são nocivas ao processo e, preservando as leveduras, além do mesmo ser ambientalmente compatível, pois não deixa resíduos nem necessita a adição de substâncias químicas e, os agentes biocidas, comumente utilizados no controle de contaminações dos processos de fermentação, são dispensados nesse tratamento, sendo usados eletrodos de carbono para tal tarefa.

OBJECTIVE: To verify the existence of fungal contamination prior to and following the cleaning and disinfection process of hospital mattresses used by patients with Candidemia. METHODS: Cross-sectional study analyzing 25 mattresses used by patients with Candidemia confirmed by blood culture from different hospital wards. The study made use of convenience samples. After growing the samples in an Agar Sabouraud Dextrose environment, isolated yeasts were identified by macroscopic, microscopic and physiologic characteristics. RESULTS: Analyses showed 15 (60%) mattresses contaminated by Candida spp. From these, 10 (66.7%) and five (33.3%) mattresses corresponded respectively to the collection prior to and following disinfection, with Candida parapsilosis being the isolated species with the highest frequency. CONCLUSION: Considering that half of the mattresses remained contaminated after cleaning and disinfection, there is a risk that these mattresses may act as potential secondary reservoirs in the infection chain.

The lack of risk management can generate disruption in the supply chain, and there is little literature related to the aerospace industry. This article aims at identifying the risk factors for supply chain of the main Brazilian aircraft manufacturer. Nine risk factors specific to aircraft manufacturers were identified: Environmental, Natural and Political, Supply Chain, Business Strategy, Product Management, Indicators, Organization, Productivity, and Quality and Information System. These factors were quantitatively evaluated with respect to their criticality using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The Quality and Productivity factors were considered the most relevant in this study, which can be classified as a single case study. The necessary data were obtained through interviews with professionals from different areas of the studied enterprise.

Previous studies show that in areas contaminated by fuel spill (NAPL- non-aqueous phase liquids), from operational activities, transport and storage, it was possible to observe a significant decrease of ²²²Rn (radon) gas concentration in the soil, even a non-uniform distribution of this gas in top soil, even with a geological situation was practically homogeneous. These anomalies may be associated with the preference partitioning of radon in NAPLs. This work consists of applying ²²²Rn as an indicator for locating subsurface contamination by NAPLs in an area of the city of Rio Claro (SP) where, according to the “Survey of Contaminated and Rehabilitated Areas in the State of São Paulo (Environmental Sanitation and Technology Company - CETESB), there was, in the year 2007, groundwater contamination from leaks of liquid fuels. The challenges of this research are: Promulgate the use of a new tool with greater efficiency in obtaining results, in addition to generate less impact in half and have less expenditure; disseminate scientific culture promoting greater integration of C&T (culture & technology) between universities and businesses. The emanometric technique to estimate the location, number and interfacial area of NAPL in saturated and non-saturated zone, has the advantage of locating and determining plumes of free phase even when the amount of VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) that reaches the surface is low or non-existent. In addition, the measurement techniques ²²²Rn are quite developed. The results obtained show that, similar to the other studies, the 222Rn soil gas presents an anomalous behavior in the area bounded by NAPL plume, being possible to note a significant deficit in the concentration of the gas in spots where the saturation by NAPLs is still critical. In the last few decades, Brazil has experienced an accelerated urbanization process in which many cities have grown in a disorderly way occupying environmentally fragile areas unsuitable for habitation. Anthropogenic actions such as high levels of impermeable soil, structural changes in watercourses, lack of riparian vegetation, illegal presence of trash and rubbish along the river banks added to irregular settlements in floodplains result in the rise of high risk areas. When accompanied by intense and prolonged rainfall phenomena, those areas have been the scenery of serious accidents such as floods. This study aims to classify the level of the risk of floods in the neighborhood of Jardim Inocoop, in the town of Rio Claro, São Paulo countryside, Brazil. One of the main technical support to tackle this issue is the identification and classification of the risks. In order to classify the risk level of flood in this case study, the methodology adopted was developed by the Ministry of Cities and Technology Research Institute, and take into account the arrangement of the hydrological scenario, vulnerability of households and dangerous process according to the distance of the houses from the axis of drainage. Therefore, the risk levels adopted to classify are listed below: very high (MA), high risk (A), moderate (M) and low risk (B). In conclusion, it is imperative to develop prevention plans in order to avoid or to minimize the damages caused by natural disasters. Therefore, the zoning of the risk sceneries remains as an important issue once it helps to identify the areas with high level risk of flood. Os sistemas convencionais de produção agropecuária são considerados grandes causadores de impactos ambientais, tais como degradação do solo, poluição e assoreamento dos rios, destruição da vegetação nativa, perda de biodiversidade e contaminação dos alimentos, o que conseqüentemente induz o aparecimento de problemas sociais, econômicos e ambientais. Os sistemas naturais em bom estado de conservação oferecem serviços ambientais que são vitais para o ser humano. Diante disso, torna-se necessário compatibilizar a preservação dos recursos naturais com a produção agropecuária. Para a manutenção da saúde ambiental de uma microbacia hidrográfica submetida à produção agrícola, as matas ciliares, encontradas ao longo das margens da rede de drenagem e ao redor das nascentes, exerce importantes funções do ponto de vista hidrológico, ecológico e geomorfológico. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo geral propor medidas de adequação ambiental para a microbacia da cabeceira do córrego do Taquari (3.260 ha) no município de Leme/SP. Como objetivos específicos teve-se: a) delimitar as Áreas de Preservação Permanente (APP’s) e Reserva Legal (RL), conforme a legislação ambiental vigente e b) realizar uma proposta de adequação ambiental para a microbacia, considerando a sua estrutura fundiária. Através de estudo de caso realizado nesta microbacia, que faz parte do Programa Estadual de Microbacias Hidrográficas do Estado de São Paulo, procurou-se por meio de um banco de dados cartográfico, gerar no final, um mapa de adequação ambiental. A microbacia possui 62,5% de sua área ocupada por cultura de canade- açúcar e 16,6% por culturas anuais, com maior destaque para milho e algodão. As ações do homem têm causado danos à natureza, colocando em risco a vida na Terra, muitas vezes, pelo erro de se acreditar na infinitude dos recursos naturais. Torna-se assim necessário um processo de educação para a formação da consciência ecológica, que pode ser definido como Educação Ambiental. A Botânica é o estudo do Reino Vegetal, o que envolve seus aspectos estruturais, sua fisiologia, bem como seu papel no meio ambiente, sendo que este último tem recebido muita ênfase, dada a importância dos vegetais na manutenção das condições da vida. Dada essa forte relação entre a Botânica e a Preservação ambiental, torna-se relevante a busca por propostas de ensino que articulem estes dois campos. Documentos como os Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais, do ensino médio e do ensino fundamental, assim como o Referencial Curricular Nacional para a Educação Infantil incentivam uma abordagem contextualizada dos assuntos relacionados ao meio ambiente, de forma a permitir ao aluno, não apenas a compreensão da diversidade e complexidade dos seres vivos, mas também, a percepção de seu próprio papel como agente transformador do ambiente. No nível infantil, a educação ambiental é um dos temas que pode e deve ser abordado, favorecendo a formação da consciência ambiental que se deseja, bem como despertando o interesse pelo ensino de Botânica para que este permaneça nos próximos níveis de ensino e para a vida. A importância das atividades práticas na Educação Infantil é inquestionável e o jogo é uma das atividades que favorece o desenvolvimento da criança, podendo ser utilizado como material didático capaz de auxiliar na formação de indivíduos críticos e criativos. This paper deals with a case study of assessing risk to human health, with the study area of an industrial site in the city of Paulinia (SP) contaminated by oil, which is disturbing situation that occurs in the state of Sao Paulo, which represents risks for human health, as toxic and carcinogenic potential of petroleum products. As an essential foundation for risk assessment, a Geo-environmental diagnosis of the region was made, posing as historical information of the area and accidents, regional geology and hydrogeology, characterization of contaminants and affected media, contaminant transport and data on potential receptors and pathways. Because of the detection of contaminants above the intervention values CETESB (2005) it was possible to proceeded to quantify risks to human health and the determination of maximum acceptable concentrations for no damage to health, using the methodology and software RBCA Tier 2 (ASTM , 1998) and Spreadsheet Risk Assessment recently published by CETESB. The results showed the risk to the health of industrial workers and regular employees of civil works (both on site) for ingestion of groundwater and inhalation of vapors indoors.

The late industrialization, together with other factors, ended up directing much of the rural population to cities, without adequate planning, resulting in high density and irregular settlements in risk areas to low-income population. The man settled in the urban site to break environmental laws that eventually causing an imbalance in the natural environment, causing or exacerbating the shortage in availability of water resources. This situation also happened in Presidente Prudente, especially in the east, the focus of this research. Therefore, this study aims to understand the causes of degradation of waterways in urban areas, focusing on society's relationship with nature and its consequences on environmental quality and quality of life of urban population located in the watershed of stream of Gramado, Presidente Prudente - São Paulo. In this catchment there is the irregular deposition of solid waste in the valley, remnants of old pollution release of domestic sewage and industrial (currently collected and intended for treatment), accelerated processes of erosion in some areas of intensive use of the relief and consequently, the bed siltation of streams that are part of the basin. The quality of urban life was seen through socioeconomic and environmental indicators, which were identified through questionnaires to residents, according to local residence in the landscape, divided into three segments: the tops 60 residents, 90 residents and 112 residents in the areas in valley bottoms. With these data we can relate them to the degradation of the basin and aggregate them to the quality of life of residents. During the last centuries, the human being have been considered the center of the universe. The man believed that nature was at his disposal. Appropriated their processes, their cycles changed, redefined their spaces. Today, when faced with an environmental crisis which threatens the planet life, including the human life, the Science Education can contribute to a reconstruction of man-nature relationship in other terms. The transformation of teaching practices in the school environment, to be reflective, it is still a process that challenges the vast majority of teachers. As has been indicated by Guerra (2004), among others, the traditional teaching of content delivery is still very strong and certainly more deeply embedded in ideas and activities of the teachers who focus on environmental education. With it, a theory and pedagogical discourses in critical-reflexive actions is still a major obstacle. Therefore, new proposals for education and continuing education activities need to be formulated and presented based on the characteristics and needs breathing. Therefore propose changes in the way of teaching, where there is more room for a theory and praxis alone or with a only scientific truth. The scenery of society requires that knowledge is constructed to interconnect all disciplines, joining theory and practice so we can understand the whole and their relations in an integrated manner. It was proposed here a way to build a school and applying theoretical and practical activities involving experimental and seeking to meet the principles of Environmental Education for the training of citizens aware and critical.
