Estableciendo la agenda. Los orígenes y la evolución de la teoría de la Agenda Setting

El presente trabajo es una revisión de la teoría de la Agenda Setting. Se analiza el contexto teórico de su nacimiento, sus antecedentes y su evolución en los estudios de la relación entre medios de comunicación y opinión pública. Asimismo, se describe una serie de casos en los que se ha estudiado la función de establecimiento de la agenda, tanto en el extranjero como en Argentina. Finalmente, se esboza una propuesta de complementación de esta perspectiva con otros abordajes teóricos, con vistas a lograr una mirada más integral, que entienda a los productores de la información como actores insertos en una comunidad, cuyos valores expresan y redefinen.

Resumen: El presente estudio se enmarca en la teoría de la agenda setting. Esta teoría tiene dos niveles; en el primero sostiene que la agenda de los medios transfiere al público la importancia relativa de los asuntos públicos, en qué pensar y discutir. En un segundo nivel, sostiene que los medios también transfieren la manera como evaluamos a los protagonistas de esos mismos asuntos públicos, en este estudio en particular, a los políticos. La presente investigación describe y analiza la imagen y características que destacan los medios masivos de comunicación acerca de los candidatos políticos que compitieron durante las elecciones presidenciales en Argentina de octubre 2011

El 29 de noviembre de 2012, el Lord Justice Brian Leveson presentó al Gobierno británico su informe de 1987 páginas sobre la “Cultura, prácticas y ética de la prensa”. Este reporte fue el resultado de un año y cuatro meses de labor de la comisión presidida por el juez, convocada para analizar la situación de la prensa y proponer reformas en su regulación a raíz del escándalo desatado debido al descubrimiento de la red de escuchas ilegales organizada por el periódico News of the World. El organismo regulador de la prensa británica es la Press Complaints Commission, cuya característica principal es la de estar integrada mayoritariamente por miembros de la industria de medios...

Poder de agenda : a supremacia do Poder Executivo e seus efeitos na sistematização da pauta do Plenário da Câmara dos Deputados

Analisa a agenda do Poder Legislativo brasileiro. Investiga a organização da pauta do Plenário da Câmara dos Deputados e as interações existentes entre a inclusão de matérias na pauta e as deliberações daquele órgão. Aborda os seguintes tópicos: o presidencialismo de coalizão e a supremacia do Executivo; matérias constantes da Ordem do Dia da Câmara dos Deputados; limitações regimentais e constitucionais; análise das sessões plenárias deliberativas da Câmara dos Deputados convocadas durante a 52ª Legislatura; eficiência do Senado Federal na apreciação de matérias encaminhadas em revisão; a problemática da edição de medidas provisórias.
