O léxico de uma língua pode ser considerado um bem ou um conjunto de bens lingüísticos pertencente a uma sociedade de importância e valor reconhecidos num determinado lugar, região ou país que, devido ao progresso técnico e científico, evolui em continuidade, nas mais diversas frentes, uma vez que o processo de nomeação da realidade é uma constante dinâmica e vivaz. É nesse conjunto imenso de unidades lexicais, cujas divergências lingüístico-semânticas são inerentes e formadoras de culturas e comunidades de fala, que se inserem os itens lexicais cromáticos como microssistemas lingüísticos singulares repletos de significação e riqueza sintático-semântico-pragmática. No microssistema das cores, esse universo lexical abarca tipos de combinações fixas das mais variadas espécies, de forma representativa e peculiar. Nesta exposição, tratarei, especificamente, daqueles proverbiais e das expressões fixas, por meio de considerações de cunho teórico e prático concernentes à sistematização e à busca dessas expressões lexicais no processo de elaboração de uma obra lexicográfica especial, no caso, um Dicionário Multilíngüe de Cores – DMC.

Examining three bleaching systems, this in vivo clinical trial evaluated the relationship among tooth sensitivity, light activation, and agent concentration, and it correlated dental sensitivity with tooth thickness.Materials and Methods: Eighty-seven volunteer patients were included. Inclusion criteria were the presence of anterior teeth without restorations as well as the absence of a previous bleaching experience and absence of non-carious cervical lesions or dental pain. Exclusion criteria included pregnancy or breastfeeding, a maximum of TF3 hypoplasia, tetracycline-fluorosis stains, malpositioned teeth, orthodontic treatment, periodontal disease, and/or analgesic/anti-inflammatory intake. Patients were randomly assigned to three bleaching groups: Group A (n=25) was treated with 15% H2O2 and nitrogenous-titanium-dioxide and was light activated (Lase Peroxide Lite, DMC, SaoCarlos, Sao Paulo, Brazil); Group B (n=27) was treated with 35% H2O2 and was light activated (Lase Peroxide Sensy, DMC); and Group C (n=35) was treated with 35% H2O2 (White Gold Office, Dentsply, 38West Clark Ave., Milford, USA) without light activation. Tooth sensitivity (TS) was self-reported by the patients using the visual analog scale (VAS) at baseline (TSO), immediately after treatment (TSI), and at seven days after treatment (TS7). In 46 patients, tooth thickness was determined by computed tomography. TSO, TSI, and TS7 were compared between the A and B groups to determine the effect of concentration and between the B and C groups to determine the effect of light using analysis of covariance. The correlation between tooth thickness and TSI was determined by Spearman Rho test (SPSS 15).Results: Eighty-seven patients were evaluated at baseline, and 61 were evaluated at seven days. Separated by groups, tooth sensitivity, expressed as VAS value at the time points TS0, TS1, and TS7, respectively, were as follows: Group A: 13.76 +/- 13.53, 24.40 +/- 25.24, and 5.94 +/- 5.5; Group B: 15.07 +/- 18.14, 42.4 +/- 31.78, and 8.68 +/- 17.99; and Group C: 10.80 +/- 14.83, 31.51 +/- 29.34, and 7.24 +/- 9.2. Group A showed significantly lower tooth sensitivity than group B at TSI (p=0.032). No differences were observed in the tooth sensitivities between groups B and C. No correlation was encountered between tooth thickness and tooth sensitivity immediately after treatment (Rho=-0.088,p=0.563). The median tooth thickness was 2.78 +/- 0.21 mm.Conclusions: Increases in the concentration of bleaching agents directly affect tooth sensitivity, and LED/laser activation and tooth thickness are not correlated with tooth sensitivity after dental bleaching.

Com a evolução da engenharia tecidual novos materiais estão sendo estudados visando o tratamento de defeitos ósseos. O objetivo deste projeto foi preparar e caracterizar scaffolds a base de polihidroxibutirato (PHB), apatita e peptídeo osteogênico, osteogenic growth peptide (OGP), para aplicação em reparação óssea. Além disso, avaliar a liberação prolongada do peptídeo incorporado aos scaffolds na forma livre ou incorporado a lipossomas. Os scaffolds de PHB foram confeccionados por prototipagem rápida (PR) empregando a tecnologia Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). Posteriormente, a apatita foi incorporada in situ por meio de ciclos alternados de imersão em soluções de CaCl2 e Na2HPO4, respectivamente. Neste estudo foram selecionadas 2 marcações para o OGP, uma com 5,6-carboxifluoresceína (CF) e outra com triptofano (W), para análise de liberação prolongada. Os peptídeos foram incorporados ao sistema de liberação no momento de seu preparo. A caracterização por espalhamento de luz dos sistemas de liberação desenvolvidos mostrou que os peptídeos marcados com CF foram os melhores desenvolvidos. Portanto estes peptídeos foram adsorvidos nos scaffolds de PHB-CaP. Estudos in vitro foram realizados para avaliar o perfil de liberação do peptídeo OGP-CF do sistema de liberação controlada. A incorporação da apatita às matrizes de PHB foi confirmada por análises de microscopia eletrônica de varredura/ espectroscopia de energia dispersiva (MEV/EDS), espectroscopia na região do infravermelho (FTIR), absorção atômica, a difratometria de raios-X (DRX). Estas análises sugeriram que a principal fase precipitada foi -TCP. O sistema de liberação lipossoma/OGP-CF foi caracterizado pelas análises de dicroísmo circular e espalhamento de luz, que confirmaram a presença do peptídeo nas amostras. Naturally characterizes the human being the interference in the environment to ensure their survival and also convenience. After numerous environmental accidents caused by unbridled pursuit of this goal, the concern about providing for current needs without compromising the ability of the future generations to supply their own, gained space. In order to contribute to sustainable development the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) was implemented. This tool is based on the concept that if the environmental impacts of a product or service are known, it is possible to take better decisions concerning its environmental aspects. The purpose of this research is to conduct the LCA of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the world’s second most consumed thermoplastic. The methodology described in NBR ISO 14040 and NBR ISO 14044 was followed. As a result, the LCA of polyvinyl chloride produced in Brazil was obtained, and, therefore, the inventory of the product in question adapted to Brazilian reality. The research can be applied to various studies considering that actions were taken to ensure that it represents the Brazilian reality. Moreover, the procedures were described to guarantee the greatest transparency possible

The aim of this study is to demonstrate through a case report, a proposed treatment for discolored teeth, with and without pulp vitality, by the technique of external and internal tooth bleaching with hydrogen peroxide to 35% Lase Peroxide Sensy (DMC) using Whitening Lase II Device (DMC), and a silicone guide (3M ESPE) in the palatine portion of the upper teeth. In this clinical case, the patient had darkened dental elements 11 and 22, and dissatisfaction with the coloring of other elements. It was observed that the techniques used and the materials chosen allowed for an excellent aesthetic result, with technical simplicity and low cost, and minimal occurrence of signs and symptoms

The human dentition is naturally translucent, opalescent and fluorescent. Differences between the level of fluorescence of tooth structure and restorative materials may result in distinct metameric properties and consequently perceptible disparate esthetic behavior, which impairs the esthetic result of the restorations, frustrating both patients and staff. In this study, we evaluated the level of fluorescence of different composites (Durafill in tones A2 (Du), Charisma in tones A2 (Ch), Venus in tone A2 (Ve), Opallis enamel and dentin in tones A2 (OPD and OPE), Point 4 in tones A2 (P4), Z100 in tones A2 ( Z1), Z250 in tones A2 (Z2), Te-Econom in tones A2 (TE), Tetric Ceram in tones A2 (TC), Tetric Ceram N in tones A1, A2, A4 (TN1, TN2, TN4), Four seasons enamel and dentin in tones A2 (and 4SD 4SE), Empress Direct enamel and dentin in tones A2 (EDE and EDD) and Brilliant in tones A2 (Br)). Cylindrical specimens were prepared, coded and photographed in a standardized manner with a Canon EOS digital camera (400 ISO, 2.8 aperture and 1/ 30 speed), in a dark environment under the action of UV light (25 W). The images were analyzed with the software ScanWhite©-DMC/Darwin systems. The results showed statistical differences between the groups (p < 0.05), and between these same groups and the average fluorescence of the dentition of young (18 to 25 years) and adults (40 to 45 years) taken as control. It can be concluded that: Composites Z100, Z250 (3M ESPE) and Point 4 (Kerr) do not match with the fluorescence of human dentition and the fluorescence of the materials was found to be affected by their own tone.
