Ausbildung und Praxis gehören zusammen - Die Bedeutung der Praxisorientierung in der Ausbildung von SozialarbeiterInnen und SozialpädagogInnen

In this paper the authors review the expectations of the “practice field” of the social services in Southern Tirol in the light of the “Recommendations for a university-based study programme for social work” (Empfehlungen zum universitären Studiengang für Soziale Arbeit), published by the “Autonomous Province of Bolzano“. They stress the mutual relationship -“give and take” - between the two learning areas (Lernfelder) i.e. the practice field and the university setting in the process of professional education and training of Social Workers and Social Pedagogues. In this context the “practice field” offers various means to the University in order to enhance the development of “Social Work” both as a professional activity and an academic discipline. Additionally the authors express their gratitude to Walter Lorenz and underline his contributions to and impact on the practice field in the region.

Neue Einblicke in die Praxis der frühen Wiedergutmachung in Bayern: Die Auerbach-Korrespondenz im Bayerischen Hauptstaatsarchiv und die Akten des Strafprozesses gegen die Führung des Landesentschädigungsamtes von 1952

Wie kaum ein anderer hat Philipp Auerbach die Anfänge der Wiedergutmachung in Westdeutschland nach 1945 geprägt. Durch seine zahlreichen Funktionen im Staatsdienst und in Organisationen ehemaliger Verfolgter gelang es ihm, 'Wiedergutmachung' an den Opfern des Nationalsozialismus in einem sehr weiten Sinn zu betreiben. Seine eigenwillige Vorstellung davon, wie Rückerstattung, Entschädigung, Entnazifizierung und öffentliches Gedenken miteinander verbunden werden sollten, trug ihm jedoch heftige Gegnerschaft ein. 1952 wurde er in einem hochpolitischen Prozess verurteilt und nahm sich unmittelbar danach das Leben. Auerbachs Korrespondenz und weitere persönliche Unterlagen aus den Jahren 1946-1951 sind jetzt im Bayerischen Hauptstaatsarchiv zugänglich. Ergänzend können seit kurzem im Staatsarchiv München die Verfahrensakten zum Strafprozess von 1952 eingesehen werden. Beide Archivalienkomplexe zusammen bieten ausgezeichnete Einblicke in die frühe Wiedergutmachungspraxis in Bayern. Sichtbar werden vor allem die vielfältigen Interessenkonflikte, die bei der Entschädigung, der Rückerstattung und der Sühne von NS-Verbrechen auftraten.

Anti-Feminist Backlash and Violence against Women Worldwide

Although globalization, through the communications revolution and international law, brings the promise of progressive social change, the concern of this paper is with the backlash against women’s increasing emancipation, a backlash that is evidenced in the United States through making a mockery of women’s bid for equality by turning the principles against some women whose lives are troubled while rewarding others. Meanwhile across the world the victimization of women, personal and cultural, is taking place in both democratic and totalitarian regimes. Two related forms of backlash are institutional and personal. That forces from the global market and the corporate media help fuel this backlash is a major contention of this paper.
