The revolution caused by the internet and its various social networks eventually bring forth fruitful reflections on cyberculture and the power of identity construction. What seemed purely fashion has become way of being, representation of self, reality creation (Lévy, 1996). Considering language as a social phenomenon, which occurs through interaction, as explicit in Bakhtin (1929), the speech aired on social networks shapes the profile of their users, constructing identities which, according to Hall (2006), are multiple and non-permanent . This research seeks to examine the use of Twitter by school students, developing a reflection on the construction of their own identities in cyberspace. The subjects are students of Educandário Nossa Senhora das Vitórias, private school in Assú/RN, all graduates from high school. Understanding the Vestibular year as a decisive and a reflection engine ever present about their condition of students, subjects eventually express their anxieties, fears and perspectives in the virtual environment, providing us with enough material to analyze how they are high school students, expectations for appropriate selection processes, plus several representations belonging to the school environment. From the discourse conveyed on Twitter expressed in Featured posts, this study reveals the identities of high school students that emerge from it, which led the cast of some evidence. From them, despite the multiplicity of identities observed, presented some common aspects that corroborate the requirements provided for specific objectives, such as: feeling of belonging to a group - class and school; change of routine and behavior towards education; desecration of traditional teaching practices; changing the identity of students'writings. The analysis of postings enables us to know the perceptions of students regarding the school, the disciplines , the pace of studies, interest in school practices, and from such evidence, the perception of how vestibular modify your daily life and a fondness their identities as school students.

Rocks of the lower sheeted dike complex of Hole 504B sampled during Leg 140 were analyzed for major and trace element compositions to investigate the effects of igneous processes and hydrothermal alteration on the compositions of the rocks. The rocks are relatively uniform in composition and similar to the shallower dikes. They are moderately evolved mid-ocean-ridge basalts (MORB) with relatively high MgO (7.9-10 wt%) and Mg# (0.60-0.70), and have unusually low incompatible element contents (TiO2 = 0.42-1.1 wt%, Zr = 23-62 ppm). Discrete compositional intervals in the hole reflect varying degrees of differentiation, and olivine and plagioclase accumulation in the rocks, and may be related to injection of packets of dikes having similar compositions. Systematic depletions of total REE, Zr, Y, TiO2, and P2O5 in centimeter-size patches are most likely attributed to exclusion of highly differentiated, late-stage interstitial liquids from small portions of the rocks. The rocks exhibit increased H2O+ reflecting hydrothermal alteration. Replacement of primary plagioclase by albite and oligoclase led to local gains of Na2O, losses of CaO, and slightly positive Eu anomalies. Some mobility of P2O5 led to minor increases and decreases in P2O5 contents, and some local mobility of Ti may have occurred during alteration of titanomagnetite to titanite. Higher temperatures of alteration in the lower sheeted dikes led to breakdown of pyroxene and sulfide minerals and losses of Zn, Cu, and S to hydrothermal fluids. Later addition of anhydrite to the rocks in microfractures and replacing plagioclase caused local increases in sulfur contents. The lower sheeted dikes are a major source of metals to hydrothermal fluids for the formation of metal sulfide deposits on and within the seafloor.

Diabases were recovered during Legs 137 and 140 at Hole 504B from depths between 1621.5 and 2000.4 meters below seafloor in the lower sheeted dike complex. The samples contain multiple generations of millimetric to centimetric veins. The orientation of the measured veins suggests that two main vein sets exist: one characterized by shallow dipping and the other by random trend. Thermal contraction during rock cooling is considered the main mechanism responsible for fracture formation. Vein infill is related to the circulation of hydrothermal fluids near the spreading axis. Some veins are surrounded by millimeter-sized alteration halos due to fluid percolation from the fractures through the host rock. Vein-filling minerals are essentially amphibole, chlorite, and zeolites. Amphibole composition is controlled by the microstructural site of the rock. Actinolite is the main amphibole occurring in the veins and also in the groundmass away from the halos. In the alteration halos, amphibole shows composition of actinolitic hornblende and Mg-hornblende. Late-stage tension gashes and interstitial spaces in some amphibole-bearing veins are filled with zeolites, suggesting that the veins likely suffered multiple opening stages that record the cooling history of the circulating fluids. Evidence of deformation recorded by the recovered samples seems to be restricted to veins that clearly represent elements of weakness of the rock. On the basis of vein geometry and microstructure we infer structural interpretations for the formation mechanism and for deformation of veins.

Twitter on internetissä toimiva lyhytviestipalvelu, joka voidaan lukea osaksi sosiaalista mediaa. Sen käyttäjät voivat julkaista korkeintaan 140 merkin mittaisia viestejä, eli twiittejä, sekä lukea, jakaa ja kommentoida toisten käyttäjien lähettämiä twiittejä. Palvelun piirissä lähetetään tätä kirjoitettaessa kymmeniä tuhansia suomenkielisiä twiittejä päivittäin. Twiitit koskevat usein ajankohtaisia aiheita ja tapahtumia. Tässä tutkimuksessa haetaan vastausta siihen, toteutuuko Twitterissä käytävässä eduskuntavaaliaiheisessa keskustelussa aggregatiivisen, deliberatiivisen tai agonistisen demokratiakäsityksen piir teitä. Normatiivisten demokratiateor ioiden operationalisoinnnissa tutkielmassa on käytetty erityisesti Raphael Kiesin deliberatiivisen demokratian operationalisointikehikkoa sekä Lincoln Dahlbergin digitaalisen demokratian positiomallia. Aineistona on Twitterin tietokannasta vuoden 2015 eduskuntavaalien alla suodatettu ja kerätty kokoelma twiittejä (n=870), jotka muodostavat yhteensä 25 kokonaista keskustelua. Analyysimenetelminä on käytetty laadullista, teoriaohjaavaa sisällönanalyysiä sekä kuvailevia kvantitatiivisia menetelmiä. Analyysin johtopäätöksenä voidaan todeta, että kaikkien edellä mainittujen demokratiateorioiden mukaisia piirteitä oli havaittavissa tutkituista keskusteluketjuista. Kokonaisuutena aineistosta havaitut vuorovaikutuksen piirteet muodostavat kuvan keskustelukulttuurista, joka muistuttaa käsitellyistä demokratiaihanteista eniten aggregatiivista, liberaalia demokratiaa. Mainittua normatiivista demokratiakäsitystä tukevat myös Twitterin asettama 140 merkin yläraja viestien pituudelle sekä Twitterin tämän tutkielman kirjoitusvaiheessa julkaisema äänestystoiminto. Merkillepantava huomio on myös se, että osallistujien välistä näkyvää vuorovaikutusta esiintyy Twitterissä vähän suhteessa twiittien kokonaisvolyymiin.

A combination of X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis and Raman spectroscopy was employed to characterise the ageing of alumina hydrolysates synthesised from the hydrolysis of anhydrous tri-sec-butoxyaluminium(III). X-Ray diffraction showed that the alumino-oxy(hydroxy) hydrolysates were pseudoboehmite. For boehmite the lamellar spacings are in the b direction and multiple d(020) peaks are observed for the un-aged hydrolysate. After 4 h of ageing, a single d(020) peak is observed at 6.53 Å. Thermal analysis showed five endotherms at 70, 140, 238, 351 and 445°C. These endotherms are attributed to the dehydration and dehydroxylation of the boehmite-like hydrolysate. Raman spectroscopy shows the presence of bands for the washed hydrolysates at 333, 355, 414, 455, 475, 495, 530 and 675 cm–1. These bands are attributed to pseudoboehmite. Ageing of the hydrolysates results in an increase in the crystallite size of the pseudoboehmite.
