El infinito: concepciones de los estudiantes que transitan del colegio a la universidad

En el presente trabajo nos interesa principalmente determinar qué concepciones sobre el infinito han desarrollado estudiantes de último año de secundaria y estudiantes universitarios de primer año. Aunque este concepto no aparece como un contenido específico del currículo de matemáticas, sobre él se desarrollan diferentes concepciones en escenarios no escolares que de una u otra manera afectan la construcción de conceptos matemáticos relacionados con él. Además, nos interesa confrontar las ideas que surgen cuando se habla de infinito en lo grande e infinito en lo pequeño, ya que aunque se trata de la construcción de un mismo concepto sus concepciones emergen de manera diferente en la mente de los individuos (Núñez, 1997). Lo que se puede justificar considerando que es más fácil comprender el infinito en lo grande como un proceso que continua sin parar y que no tiene fin, que el infinito en lo pequeño, en donde a pesar de conservarse el hecho de un proceso sin fin, aparece una nueva situación que sugiere que dicho proceso tiene un límite.

La matemática de último año de educación media en grupos diferenciados según intereses y habilidades. Una experiencia de atención a la diversidad

El proceso de aprendizaje y enseñanza de la Matemática presenta tradicionalmente una serie de dificultades. Su objeto de estudio, que es pura abstracción creada por el ser humano, así como la existencia de diferentes estilos y ritmos de aprendizaje en los estudiantes, son algunos de los factores que influyen en las dificultades mencionadas. La clase planificada y dirigida a la media del curso provoca frustraciones en los que tienen menos aptitud hacia la Matemática y aburrimiento en los más aventajados. Con el objetivo de que los estudiantes de último año pudieran aprovechar más efectivamente la diversidad curricular, se diseñaron tres grupos diferenciados de Matemática, con un mismo programa, pero ofreciendo la oportunidad de experimentar con un grupo afín en intereses y habilidades, y con una metodología adecuada a los ritmos y estilos de aprendizajes de cada individuo. En este trabajo presentamos la experiencia de estudiantes, profesores, psicólogos y directivos en un esfuerzo común por lograr el desarrollo humano integral.

Art, adolescence and Social Work: Anja, the invisible manager

This article has been written with the intention of being able to analyse the contributions of art —theatre, in this case— to the practice of social work. For this purpose, we have chosen to read the social reality in which we intervene through the lens of social constructionism. This helps us to rescue the social and subjective side of art, and, moreover, to recover the depathologization of the subject in professional intervention. Thus, using a practical case taken from work with adolescents in the German FSJ programme, hand-in-hand with a young girl called Anja we trace the developmental and sociological aspects of adolescence in order to later address certain common points of art and psychosocial work. Art will hence be redefined as a transitional object allowing questions to be addressed relating to (self-) perception, attachment, communication and changes in conduct as the ultimate goal of professional action. Lastly, we note the limitations and risks of art-based intervention, in order to conclude with a final synopsis.

Dynamic analysis of employment trajectories through the concept of fl exicurity

The paper presents a dynamic study of the Spanish labour market which tries to determine if it matches the characteristics of transitional labour markets from a fl exicurity approach. Employment trajectories of Spanish workers during the years 2007-2010 are studied using the Continuous Sample of Working Lives. This period covers the end of the expansion of the Spanish economy and the beginning of the current employment crisis. From the combination of the chosen topic, the approach, and the database used, this is a novel perspective in our country. The article shows evidence of the evolution of the employment and unemployment spells, the Spanish labour market turnover degree, and the diffi culties of some groups for carrying out transition between employment and unemployment. The results obtained show a labour market in which a) transitions have come to a halt, and b) there is high job insecurity.

The redemption of the gaze: the crisis of observation in the "fin de siècle" and the advent of cinema

The intention of this article is not to affirm, but rather to question wether it is possible to speak of a loss of the ability to gaze in the context of the nineteenth century and especially in the context of the fin de siècle, in the bosom of the epistemological crisis that beset the Turn of the Century. And very especially, this article tries to question about the impact this crisis had, perhaps, in the birth of cinema. Is in this context that arises the work of Marey and the advent of the cinematograph of the Lumière brothers in the fin de siècle Europe, both of them showing a deep faith in a mechanical apparatus that would allow the redemption of a battered gaze. And it seems to be a dream that continues over time through the tradition of shooting the everyday life.
