Introduction: The pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is composed of aerobic and resisted exercises that improve the functional capacity to the exercise, life quality and decrease respiratory symptoms in subjects with chronic pulmonary disease. Objective: Assess the effects of a combined PR program in the cardiorespiratory function and peripheral muscle strength in subjects with chronic pulmonary disease. Method: Patients with chronic pulmonary disease were submitted to the PR program, which was developed on 24 sessions of 60 minutes (three times per week). The program was composed of aerobic exercises (two times per week) and resisted exercises (once a week). Before and after the PR the patients were submitted to manovacuometry in order to measure the maximum inspiratory pressure (MIP) and the maximum expiratory pressure (MEP), ventilometry, peek expiratory flow (PEF), six minute walking test (6MWT) and one maximum repetition (1RM). The data are presented in absolute frequency, percentage and meanstandard deviation. The t Student test was used to compare data before and after the PR and the ANOVA test to compare before, after and predicted distances in the 6MWT (p<0.05). Results: Seven patients were part of this study, 85.70% of women, 71.40% with pulmonary emphysema diagnosis. The mean age was 69.435.59 years old, the height was 1.610.07 m, the mean weight was 66.208.40 kg and the body mass index mean was 25.502.48 kg/m. From the variables assessed, the MEP increased from 79.7113.69 to 84.4212.83 cmH2O (p=0,03), the PEF increase from 255.7166.3 to 320.0093.63 l/min (p=0,03) and the distance in the 6MWT from 415.2847.90 to 483,7979,77 m (p=0,02). The load in the 1RM test in the reverse peck deck exercise (before - - 17.108.10kg; after 210.409.00kg), knee in leg extension machine (before 17.109.50kg; after 26.4013.10kg) and hip extensors (right before 48.6022.10kg; after 62.9019.30kg; and left before 46.4020.10kg; after 62.1018.20kg) increased significantly (p<0,05). Conclusion: After the PR program there was improvement in the expiratory muscular strength, in the lower limbs strength and in the functional capacity. Besides that, there was a reduction in the airflow obstruction of the subjects with chronic pulmonary disease.

BACKGROUND: Previous studies suggested that some interactive video games induce cardiovascular responses. However, some different styles of video games have not been investigated. OBJECTIVE: We aimed to evaluate cardiovascular responses induced by video game boxing performance in healthy women. METHOD: We evaluated ten female sedentary volunteers, aged 20.9 1.4 years, weight 58.7 8.0 kg, height 163.2 5.4cm. All subjects were weighed and measured. Their heart rate, blood pressure and lactate levels were recorded before and after video game performance. The volunteers played a Sony video game (Nintendo Wii) by using the boxing method, in which all volunteers played for 10 minutes without interruption. At the end of the game the volunteers were reassessed using the same parameters mentioned above. RESULTS: At the end of the video game boxing performance we observed highly significant increases of lactate production (p < 0.0035) and the double product (heart rate vs. systolic blood pressure) was also higher (p < 0.0001). Both parameters indicate that the performance increased demands of the cardiovascular system. CONCLUSION: We conclude that a ten-minute video game boxing performance induces cardiovascular responses similar to aerobic exercise. This may be a practical form of exercise, but care should be exercised concerning subjects with cardiovascular disorders.

O presente trabalho surge em funo de buscar um melhor entendimento sobre o papel da torcida, diante dos estados emocionais dos atletas, em especial da ansiedade e da agressividade. Baseado em vasta reviso de literatura, que apresenta as diversas concepes conceituais aqui estudado (adolescncia, agresso, ansiedade e torcida) e seus desdobramentos, o estudo assume a vertente da pesquisa qualitativa, optando pela pesquisa participante, como estratgia de verificao. Assim, interessou-se em estudar os aspectos relativos ao da torcida e sua interferncia no comportamento agressivo e ansioso do jogador jovem, que participa de uma modalidade federada, afim de verificar se o aumento da ansiedade e da agressividade, no momento esportivo, reflete o aumento de presso que se exerce exteriormente. Considerou-se torcida aquele pblico presente, que assiste aos confrontos esportivos, nas figuras de pais, fs, familiares e crnica esportiva e o pblico ausente, como os pais e a imprensa, que ficam no aguardo do resultado, em seus ambientes prprios. Esta pesquisa, exploratria, analisou o contexto esportivo competitivo de atletas das modalidades de basquetebol, futebol de salo, voleibol, handebol, atletismo e natao, observando, entrevistando e coletando falas e expresses que pudessem, aps rigorosa categorizao, oferecer subsdios para um replanejamento na conduta esportiva de adolescentes. Constatou a grande influncia do pblico, em especial a dos pais, com muito determinismo, seguido do profissional da rea esportiva, conforme indicam outros estudos. Explicita a questo da causa efeito no que diz respeito a ansiedade e agresso, oferecendo propostas para trabalhos que possibilitem outra abordagem ou favoream outras interferncias por parte do pblico presente.

A escola compreende espao privilegiado na transmisso-assimilao do saber elaborado, e para tanto adota atividades curriculares e extracurriculares. Assim, como as demais disciplinas que compem o currculo escolar, a educao fsica desempenha uma funo especfica e integrante no processo de formao discente. Para tanto veicula contedos que lhes so muito prprios no mbito da escola. No entanto, o que a realidade evidencia que o desenvolvimento das atividades extracurriculares na Educao Bsica fica em sua maioria a cargo do professor de educao fsica e o pior: ocupando muitas vezes o horrio destinado realizao das aulas desta disciplina no decorrer do perodo escolar. Comprometendo desta maneira os contedos especficos desta disciplina. Este estudo buscou compreender a atuao do professor de educao fsica, face s atividades extracurriculares que perpassam o processo transmissoassimilao na escola bem como as implicaes que decorrem do atendimento por parte do professor das solicitaes advindas pela escola na realizao das atividades extracurriculares na escola, buscando identificar se os docentes esto preparados para lidar com suas prprias emoes e com as emoes advindas de seus alunos. A breve reviso de literatura feita proporcionou o estudo caracterizado como uma pesquisa qualitativa, utilizando pesquisas bibliogrficas e entrevista semi-estruturada, com a anlise interpretativa dos dados coletados. A delimitao do campo de investigaes desta pesquisa se deu com a escolha de professores de educao fsica inseridos em escolas da rede estadual de ensino. The study aimed to analyze coping strategies used by Young soccer athletes during the competition period. 172 male soccer athletes of 8 teams participating in Copa So Paulo de Futebol Jnior 2013, aged between 15 and 20 years old, most of high school education took part in the study. As instrument it was used the Brazilian version of the Ways of Coping Scale. Therefore, a contact was made with teams, where they had permission or not to apply and then day and time were scheduled to data collection, this was made in order to preserve the teams performance. Given that, most of the data were collected during the rest period of the teams, that is, when there was a long interval between one match and another. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and frequency through the program Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 17.0 for Windows. The collected data suggests that most athletes use the coping strategy problem-focused, because it had the highest average, while emotion-focused coping strategy was the factor with lowest average. The results indicate that athletes have a higher emotional control and aiming to solving the stressful situation at the own problem
