Síndrome de Sweet: estudio retrospectivo de 24 pacientes en el área del Hospital Universitario Dr. Peset de Valencia

El Síndrome de Sweet (SS) es la más característica de todas las dermatosis neutrofílicas sobre todo por las entidades a las que se asocia, dada su finalidad pronóstica y terapeútica. Para definir el perfil de los pacientes diagnosticados de SS en nuestro departamento y evaluar las diferencias clínico-epidemiológicas entre subgrupos, hemos realizado un estudio retrospectivo desde 2001 a 2009, ambos inclusive, donde se han incluido veinticuatro pacientes (13 mujeres y 11 hombres) que han sido reagrupados en 4 categorías según la etiología: infecciosa, paraneoplásica, parainflamatoria e idiopática. Los resultados obtenidos se han comparado con estudios previos, encontrando algunas diferencias significativas.

The Minister for Health and Children has requested that an independent review be carried out of the circumstances surrounding the employment of a UK based Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr John Harding-Price, to a locum psychiatrist position with the South Eastern Health Board (SEHB) while he was suspended by the General Medical Council (GMC) in the United Kingdom and consequently the subject of legal proceedings by the Medical Council in Ireland. Estacionalidad de la tuberculosis en el área del Hospital Universitario Dr Peset de Valencia

La tuberculosi (TB) és una malaltia infecciosa. Diversos estudis han analitzat l'existència d'un patró estacional en la seva presentació amb resultats discordants. Ens vam proposar conèixer el patró estacional de diagnòstic de la malaltia en l'àrea del nostre hospital. Realitzem un estudi observacional prospectiu de tots els pacients, diagnosticats de TB durant el període 2002-2009 en el nostre Departament. Per a l'anàlisi estadística de les dades recollides s'ha utilitzat l'aplicació informàtica SPSS 15.0. amb un nivell de significació: p &0,05. En el nostre medi i clima, el diagnòstic de la tuberculosi pulmonar predomina durant els mesos càlids. Aquest predomini no s'ha relacionat amb les característiques socio-demogràfiques ni clíniques dels pacients.
