Introduction : L’adolescence est une période cruciale dans le développement des saines habitudes alimentaires et pour le maintien de celles-ci à l’âge adulte. Les choix alimentaires sont guidés par de multiples facteurs individuels, environnementaux et sociaux qui, durant la période de l’adolescence, se butent à une quête identitaire. Objectifs : Explorer et mettre en relief les principaux déterminants jouant un rôle dans le processus décisionnel des choix alimentaires chez de jeunes adolescents québécois tout en évaluant la méthode de recherche qualitative utilisée. Méthodologie : Issue du projet de recherche « Les dimensions socioculturelles des pratiques alimentaires et d'activité physique des jeunes : une enquête qualitative auprès d'adolescents québécois de 12 à 14 ans », cette étude repose sur l’analyse de 30 entrevues semi-dirigées utilisant des photographies en lien avec l’alimentation. Résultats : Les facteurs individuels et ceux liés aux environnements sociaux se démarquent principalement. Parmi les facteurs individuels, le goût et les perceptions sensorielles, la représentation ou l’impression personnelle des aliments et les connaissances nutritionnelles sont très influents. La famille ainsi que les activités sociales associées à l’aliment ou au lieu de consommation dominent au chapitre des facteurs sociaux. Enfin, l’utilisation de la photographie s’avère un outil de collecte de données très intéressant afin d’obtenir des propos complémentaires en situation d’entrevue. Conclusion : Cette étude confirme l’importance de certains déterminants (surtout individuels et sociaux) qui influencent les comportements alimentaires des jeunes adolescents québécois. Les connaissances acquises dans le cadre de ce projet seront utiles pour les divers intervenants appelés à développer ou à mettre en œuvre des programmes d’intervention adaptés pour la promotion de la santé et de saines habitudes chez les jeunes adolescents québécois. From the introduction: Mexico is in a state of siege. In recent years, organized crime and drug-related violence have escalated dramatically, taking innocent lives and leaving the country mired in bloodshed. The Mexican government, under the leadership of President Felipe Calderón, has responded in part by significantly extending the reach of its security operations, deploying thousands of federal police officers and military troops to combat the activities of drug cartels, and collaborating with the United States on an extensive regional security plan known as the Mérida Initiative. In the midst of the security crisis, however, the government has somewhat paradoxically adopted judicial reforms that protect human rights and civil liberties rather than erode them, specifically the presumption of innocence standard in criminal proceedings and the implementation of oral trials. Assuming that the new laws on the books will be applied in practice, these reforms represent an important commitment on the part of the government to uphold human rights and civil liberties. This is in stark contrast to the infamous judicial reforms in Colombia—the institutionalization of anonymous or “faceless” prosecutions in special courts—implemented after a surge in leftist and cartel brutality, and the murders of several prominent public and judicial officials in the 1980s.

The study was carried out with the broad objective to understand the quality attributes of Kerala as a global tourism destination. It also sheds some light on the nature of international travel market for Kerala in terms of activities , benefit sought , country and trip profile. For understanding the difference in level of tourists perception , the study also tried to compare overall trip satisfaction and impression with destination for different tourists groups categorized into country of origin and various socio-demographic groups.

Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have a dramatic impact on the tourism industry because they force this sector as a whole to rethink the way in which it organises its business . In the light of such rethinking within the tourism industry, this study has focussed on the Small and Medium Tourism Enterprises (SMTEs) in two island destinations, namely Mauritius and Andaman Islands, India.Suggestions. The findings conceming SMTEs in Mauritius and Andaman Islands have been compared to make some destination-specific inferences. The relevance of the findings has been discussed with reference to the SMTEs in the two destinations as well as the possible acceptability in other comparable settings. Suggestions have been made for further research in SMTEs’ use of the Internet for marketing function.

Tourism being a smokeless industry is now a multi-billion, multi-sectoral and multi-dimensional activity in the world. Twenty first century tourism has reached up to space when a Russian rocket carried the space vehicle of Dennis Tito, an American businessman and the world’s first space tourist, to the space station. Time is not too far to carry tourists to moon and other planets in specially launched vehicles. Tourism is being considered as an agent of social change bridging gaps among nations, regions and people and helping them to open up. It is a promoter of development-material and spiritual both at macro and micro level. The General Assembly of the United Nations, in designating the year 1967 as ‘International Tourism Year’ recognized the importance of international travel as a means of fostering understanding among people, and giving them a knowledge of the rich heritage of the past civilizations, a better appreciation of the values of different cultures, thus contributing to the strengthening of world peace. It adopted the theme “Tourism-Passport to peace”. Our veteran national leader and the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru had said” welcome a tourist and send back a friend” which indicates the need for extending friendly hospitality to the in bound tourists. Modern transportation has removed the obstacles of distance enabling people to appreciate each other engage in the exchange of ideas and commerce. Tourism can help overcome real prejudices and foster bonds. Tourism can be a real force of world peace. Considering the vast and varied potential of tourism in the state and its impact on the economic, social and cultural environment of the state, a detailed study is found to be relevant and imperative

Fotografie ist zu einem festen Bestandteil technisierter Kulturen geworden, zu so einem selbstverständlichen Segment unserer Gesellschaft, dass wir sie als solche oft gar nicht mehr wahrnehmen. Dabei haben die Bilder den Blick auf die Welt radikal verändert und neue Wirklichkeiten geschaffen. Die Durchdringung unserer Welt mit dieser visuellen Macht, erfordert die grundsätzliche Feststellung, dass fotografische Bilder nicht einfache Abbilder der Realität sind, sie dürfen nicht mit dieser verwechselt werden. Deshalb wird zunächst das Wesen der Fotografie thematisiert, um anschließend die Bildproduktion als zentrales Medium touristischer Aneignung zu illustrieren. Kernstück der Ausführungen bilden Reflexionen zu Motivationen und Funktionen des Fotografierens im Urlaub. An dieser Stelle findet dann eine Verknüpfung von Rassismus und Reisefotografie statt, wobei sich die geäußerten Denkmuster und beschriebenen Verhaltensweisen auf Touristen, die aus den westlichen Instudrienationen stammen und in die Länder des Südens reisen, beziehen. Die Ergebnisse werden mit empirisch gewonnenen Ausssagen von Urlaubern und mit Fotografien selbst belegt.

The paper analyses the regional flows of domestic tourism that took place in Spain in year 2000, contributing to the state of knowledge on tourism required by authorities and private firms when faced with decision making, for example, for regional infrastructure planning. Although tourism is one of the main income-generating economic activities in Spain, domestic tourism has received little attention in the literature compared to inbound tourism. The paper uses among others, gravitational model tools and concentration indices, to analyse regional concentration of both domestic demand and supply; tourism flows among regions, and the causes that may explain the observed flows and attractiveness between regions. Among the most remarkable results are the high regional concentration of demand and supply, and the role of population and regional income as explanatory variables. Also remarkable are the attractiveness of own region and neighbour ones, and that domestic tourism may be acting as a regional income redistributing activity

Innovation is a research topic with a broad tradition. However, learning processes, from which innovations emerge, and the dynamics of change and development have traditionally been studied in relation with the manufacturing sector. Moreover, the objects of study have been usually process and tangible product innovations. Although recently researchers have focused their attention in other sectors, more research on service innovation should be carried out. Furthermore, regarding innovation in tourism, there is a need to adapt generic theories to the tourism sector and to contribute with new ideas. In order to find out, which are the origins of innovation processes, it is necessary to look into two fundamental subjects that are inherent to innovation, which are learning and interaction. Both are closely related. The first appears to be an intrinsic condition of individuals. Moreover, it can also be identified in organizations. Thus, learning allows individuals as well as organizations to develop. However, learning and development is not possible without taking the environment into account. Hence, it is necessary that interactions take place between individuals, groups of individuals, organizations, etc. Furthermore, the concept of interaction implies the transfer of knowledge, which is the basis for innovations. The purposes of this master thesis are to study in detail several of these topics and to develop a conceptual framework for the research on innovation in tourism

Esta investigación tiene como objetivo general el análisis del impacto de la venta de acciones sobre la salud financiera y el riesgo en el grupo Aval. La necesidad por este estudio nace del interés por conocer los costos y beneficios que tienen las empresas a la hora de emitir acciones, siendo ésta última una práctica común en las últimas décadas. Algunas de las motivaciones relevantes para emitir acciones, son la financiación de nuevos proyectos de la empresa, el status que le pueda dar a la misma, una manera de hacer frente a la deuda, etc. Es importante conocer las implicaciones que tienen sobre la empresa la venta de acciones en términos de sus resultados, el impacto sobre los accionistas y sobre la misma sociedad. Esta investigación busca responder a la pregunta: ¿Cuál es el impacto de la venta de acciones sobre la salud financiera y el riesgo en los grupos financieros? Nos interesaremos por la revisión bibliográfica acerca de la salud financiera abordando autores que hablan de la misma desde el punto de vista de la posición de la empresa, refiriéndonos siempre a tres indicadores relevantes para el estudio y que son utilizados en la literatura para medir la salud financiera: liquidez, rentabilidad y endeudamiento. En la revisión de la literatura se ha encontrado una relación entre la salud financiera y el riesgo, por lo tanto buscaremos identificar cuál es el riesgo que afecta a las empresas cuando se emiten acciones centrándonos en tres tipos de riesgos financieros: riesgo de mercado, de interés y riesgo operacional; se ha escogido el grupo Aval para éste estudio ya que es uno de los grupos financieros más importantes en Colombia, con varios años de gestión y que actualmente realiza la práctica de emitir acciones.
