Jerarquización multicriterio de la Banca: una herramienta de apoyo a la toma de decisiones en las cajas de ahorro del municipio Guanare, Venezuela

En ésta investigación se propone una jerarquización multicriterio de la banca como apoyo a la toma de decisiones financieras de las cajas de ahorro. Para ello, se muestrearon cuatro cajas de ahorro ubicadas en el municipio Guanare y se seleccionaron cinco indicadores financieros utilizados por SUDEBAN más la tasa de interés pasiva, además se emplearon los métodos PAJ y PC. Los principales resultados fueron los siguientes: 1) La importancia del directivo en los procesos de toma de decisiones financieras en las cajas de ahorro guarda relación positiva con el nivel jerárquico que ocupe, 2) Se evidencia un conflicto en la importancia que le asignan a los indicadores financieros los distintos tipos de directivos en el proceso de toma de decisiones y 3) El uso de la metodología multicriterio facilitó la toma de decisiones grupal, en un contexto de preferencias en conflicto, para jerarquizar la banca con fines de inversión

Characterization of a Low-Molecular-Weight Glutenin Subunit Gene from Bread Wheat and the Corresponding Protein That Represents a Major Subunit of the Glutenin Polymer1

Both high- and low-molecular-weight glutenin subunits (LMW-GS) play the major role in determining the viscoelastic properties of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) flour. To date there has been no clear correspondence between the amino acid sequences of LMW-GS derived from DNA sequencing and those of actual LMW-GS present in the endosperm. We have characterized a particular LMW-GS from hexaploid bread wheat, a major component of the glutenin polymer, which we call the 42K LMW-GS, and have isolated and sequenced the putative corresponding gene. Extensive amino acid sequences obtained directly for this 42K LMW-GS indicate correspondence between this protein and the putative corresponding gene. This subunit did not show a cysteine (Cys) at position 5, in contrast to what has frequently been reported for nucleotide-based sequences of LMW-GS. This Cys has been replaced by one occurring in the repeated-sequence domain, leaving the total number of Cys residues in the molecule the same as in various other LMW-GS. On the basis of the deduced amino acid sequence and literature-based assignment of disulfide linkages, a computer-generated molecular model of the 42K subunit was constructed.

Net community production, Thorium-234 activity and particle flux during the Southern Ocean iron fertilization experiment LOHAFEX

A closed eddy core in the Subantarctic Atlantic Ocean was fertilized twice with two tons of iron (as FeSO4), and the 300 km**2 fertilized patch was studied for 39 days to test whether fertilization enhances downward particle flux into the deep ocean. Chlorophyll a and primary productivity doubled after fertilization, and photosynthetic quantum yield (FV/FM) increased from 0.33 to >0.40. Silicic acid (<2 µmol/L) limited diatoms, which contributed <10% of phytoplankton biomass. Copepods exerted high grazing pressure. This is the first study of particle flux out of an artificially fertilized bloom with very low diatom biomass. Net community production (NCP) inside the patch, estimated from O2:Ar ratios, averaged 21 mmol POC/m**2/d, probably ±20%. 234Th profiles implied constant export of ~6.3 mmol POC/m**2/d in the patch, similar to unfertilized waters. The difference between NCP and 234Th-derived export partly accumulated in the mixed layer and was partly remineralized between the mixed layer and 100 m. Neutrally buoyant sediment traps at 200 and 450 m inside and outside the patch caught mostly <1.1 mmol POC/m**2/d, predominantly of fecal origin; flux did not increase upon fertilization. Our data thus indicate intense flux attenuation between 100 and 200 m, and probably between the mixed layer and 100 m. We attribute the lack of fertilization-induced export to silicon limitation of diatoms and reprocessing of sinking particles by detritus feeders. Our data are consistent with the view that nitrate-rich but silicate-deficient waters are not poised for enhanced particle export upon iron addition.
