Characterisation of montmorillonites simultaneously modified with an organic dye and an ammonium salt at different dye/salt ratios. Properties of these modified montmorillonites EVA nanocomposites

In this work, a sodium montmorillonite (Na+-Mt) was modified with two molecules simultaneously, an organic dye, methylene blue (MB), and ethyl hexadecyl dimethyl ammonium (EHDDMA). The synthesised organo-montmorillonites (OMt) combining different proportions of the two molecules were thoroughly characterised and mixed with ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) in order to check the ability of these OMt as pigments and reinforcing additives. The synthesised OMt combining both surfactants, MB and EHDDMA, present higher interlayer distances than those with only MB, which were employed in previous works as nanopigments. When these OMt were incorporated in the EVA matrix, the obtained clay polymer nanocomposites (CPN) showed a high exfoliation degree of the OMt in the polymer, in such a way that at 80% of the cationic exchange capacity (CEC) of the Mt exchanged with EHDDMA, most of the OMt was exfoliated. Moreover, all the obtained CPN showed an increase in the Young's Moduli compared to the EVA reference, and especially those containing higher amounts of MB. The thermal stability of the CPN also increases with the MB content, compared to other CPN including conventional surfactants. The hiding power and colouring power achieved in the CPN are higher even with a much lower load of MB when EHDDMA is exchanged in the Mt.

La sensualidad pervertida. Reflejo de las ideas y de la vida de Pío Baroja en el personaje de Luis Murguía

El personaje de Luis Murguía, protagonista y narrador de La sensualidad pervertida, parece haber sido construido por Pío Baroja haciendo uso de varias de sus vivencias personales. Además, encontramos en su personalidad formas de pensar que se hallan muy vinculadas a las ideas que caracterizaron a su autor, por lo que en el presente trabajo vamos a intentar abordar el estudio de la obra partiendo de las similitudes entre autor y personaje. Sin embargo, lejos de quedarnos en una simple comparación entre ambos, intentaremos además profundizar en otros temas, como el camino espiritual de Luis Murguía o su forma de enfrentarse a la realidad de su momento, sin perder de vista el componente autobiográfico que marca la obra.

Los homenajes a Eva Perón como prácticas de memoria en tiempos de la Resistencia peronista (1955-1963)

El objetivo de este artículo apunta a visualizar los homenajes efectuados en memoria de Eva Perón como instancias de participación en la Resistencia peronista (1955-1963), a partir del análisis de fuentes periodísticas, informes de inteligencia y entrevistas. La observación de este tipo de prácticas nos ha permitido analizar cómo se realizó el proceso de construcción de memoria durante esta etapa y sus anclajes materiales, el carácter religioso que impregnó a dichas prácticas, y cómo la imagen de Eva Perón se constituyó en una instancia de legitimación para la participación política femenina, aunque fueron atributos conservadores los que habilitaron dicha participación

Data on behavior of iron, manganese, nickel, copper, and zinc in the zone where acidic volcanic waters of the Yur'eva River (Paramushir Island, Kuril Islands) mix with sea water are presented. Distributions of dissolved and particulate forms of these elements indicate that the mixing zone acts as a pH-based geochemical barrier, at which almost all dissolved iron and smaller amounts of other metals are precipitated. When chemogenic particulate matter formed in the mixing zone enters the open ocean, it can sorb trace elements from sea water.
