Unidades estratégicas de negócios: uma ferramenta para gestão competitiva de empresas

Este artigo tem por objetivo discutir e apresentar algumas considerações acerca das vantagens e implicações da utilização do conceito de UEN - Unidade Estratégica de Negócios, na gestão de empresas, de modo geral. O artigo discute algumas relações que devem ser esclarecidas antes da plena adoção do conceito. Baseado na literatura e na experiência do autor em consultoria em empresas, o artigo propõe uma abordagem metodológica para permitir que gerentes possam definir, analisar e compreender os efeitos da utilização do conceito de UEN - Unidade Estratégica de Negócios, considerando as dimensões competitivas ou Fatores Críticos de Sucesso típicos e intrínsecos da natureza de cada negócio.

Avaliação das exigências nutricionais de pequenos ruminantes pelos sistemas de alimentação recentemente publicados

Um experimento foi conduzido com o objetivo de verificar os efeitos de diferentes relações flúor:fosforo na alimentação sobre o desempenho de frangos de corte. Foram utilizados 1.000 pintos de corte de 1 dia distribuídos em um delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com quatro tratamentos e cinco repetições de 50 aves por boxe. Os tratamentos consistiram de quatro fontes de fósforo com relações flúor:fósforo de 1:40, 1:60, 1:80 e 1:100. O experimento foi dividido em três fases experimentais: 1 a 21, 22 a 42 e 43 a 49 dias de idade. em cada fase, avaliou-se o consumo de ração, o ganho de peso e a conversão alimentar. Ao final do experimento, foram abatidas duas aves de cada repetição para coleta da tíbia e de músculos do peito para análise das concentrações.

A compilação de corpora comparáveis na área de negócios e sua relevância para a tradução e terminologia

This article aims at highlighting the importance of Corpus Linguistics particularly to the compiling of specialized comparable corpora to the field of Translation as well as to the practice of translation itself. Hence, we report the stages of the compilation and the organization of bilingual comparable corpora in the Business field and its applications, with the purpose of also highlighting its relevance to two of our target audiences: translators and also researchers in the Terminolgy/Terminography field.

Obtenção e caracterização de lipossomas unilamelares pequenos contendo cafeína

Due to great difficulty of penetration of drugs through skin, different organized systems, such as liposomes, have been studied in order to increase percutaneous penetration. The aims of this work were to obtain and characterize small unilamellar liposomes containing caffeine (CAF). Liposomes composed by soy phosphatidylcholine - PS (40 mM) or hydrogenated PS - PSH (40 mM), with and without cholesterol - CHO (6 mM) and CAF (30 mg/mL), were characterized by size distribution, determination of mean diameter and encapsulation efficiency. Uniform size distribution with low polidispersity was observed. The mean of diameters obtained were: PS/CHO (64 nm), PS (80 nm), PSH/CHO (85 nm), PS/CAF (145 nm), PS/CHO/CAF (147 nm), PSH/CHO/CAF (152 nm), PSH (166 nm) and PSH/CAF (481 nm). The obtained encapsulation efficiency was 10.84% for PSH/CHO/CAF, followed by PS/CHO (6.61%), PSH/CAF (3.07%) and PS/CAF (1.57%).

Estresse oxidativo nos estágios finais da doença renal crônica em pequenos animais

The chronic kidney disease (CKD) it is characterized by irreversible structural lesions that can develop progressively for uremia and chronic renal failure (CRF). In the CRF it happens the incapacity of executing the functions of maintenance of the electrolyte balance and acid-base, catabolitos excretion and hormonal regulation appropriately. When the mechanism basic physiopathology of the renal upset is analyzed, it is observed that present factors, predispose to the unbalance oxidative. Most of the time, the renal patient comes badly nurtured, with lack in reservations of vitamins and minerals, what reduces the antioxidant defense mechanisms, what favors the installation of the renal oxidative stress, with the formation of species you reactivate of reactive oxygen species (ROS), substances these potentially harmful to the organism. The reduction of the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in the evolution of CKD in dogs and cats is a component for the installation of the renal oxidative stress. The ROS possesses important action in the kidneys, and these substances are highly reactivate, and when presents in excess damage lipids, proteins, DNA and carbohydrate, driving functional and structural abnormalities taking the cellular apoptosis and necrosis. That is possible due to the activity of the antioxidants. Like this, to present literature revision had as objective describes the participation of the oxidative stress in CRF, as well as the mechanisms defenses against the harmful action of those substances.

Ultrassonografia torácica extracardíaca em pequenos animais

Until recently, ultrasonography was not considered one of the prevailing imaging methods for thoracic evaluation due to its limitations in evaluating lesions located below thoracic gas collections in individuals with normal lung tissue as well as in those with pneumothorax. Nevertheless, ultrasound has an advantage over other imaging techniques. It allows not only differentiating pleural from pulmonary lesions, but also identifying and assessing peripheral pulmonary lesions. Thus, thoracic ultrasound has become more popular in Veterinary Medicine as an ancillary method in the diagnosis and treatment of several diseases of the thoracic cavity, especially in emergency settings. This review aims at providing information on the main alterations found in the chest wall, mediastinum, pleura, lung and diaphragm by means of ultrasonography.

N-acetilcisteína - Ação antioxidante e utilização na clínica de pequenos animais

For a long time, N-acetylcysteine was only used as a mucolytic and as an expectorant agent in the treatment of paracetamol/ acetaminophen intoxication. With the advent of studies on free radicals, antioxidants are gaining prominence and the N-acetylcysteine is amongst them. The objective of this article is to emphazise the farmacological activity of this amino acid in affections in the small animal clinical routine, as well as to show new perspectives of its use in humans, which could, in the future, form the base for similar studies in dogs and cats.
