胶北晚中生代煌斑岩的岩石地球化学特征及其成因研究

胶北煌斑岩分别采自龙口、烟台和威海地区，包括拉辉煌斑岩、斜闪正煌岩和角闪煌斑岩，煌斑岩K—Ar全岩年龄变化于89．3～169．5Ma，为晚中生代岩浆活动的产物。在岩石化学组成上，SiO2=42．02％～54．95％，以钙碱性系列为主．岩石以富集大离子亲石元素（LILE）（Ba，U，K，Th）和LREE，亏损高场强元素（HFSE）（Nb，Ta和Ti）为特征，Mg^#=33．9～53．9，Eu／Eu^＊=0．71～0．89，^87Sr／^86Sr初始比值0．707642～0．709791，εNd（t）为-17．6～-10．4，^206Pb／^204Pb=37．588～38．431，^207Pb／^204Pb=15．423～15．531，^206Pb／^204Pb=17．204～18．179。表明煌斑岩源自俯冲陆壳（扬子下地壳）在地幔源区发生交代作用时形成的富集型地幔的部分熔融体．考虑到煌斑岩具有大陆边缘弧玄武岩的特征，我们认为煌斑岩在成因上同样与古大洋板块的俯冲作用有关，为碰撞后弧岩浆作用形成的脉岩。

金矿勘探中的“测不准”现象及原因分析

赋存于花岗岩中的金矿体，在勘探中的钻探结果被证实对矿体的控制偏差很大，这种“测不准”现象是由于花岗（斑）岩角砾硬度较大，含矿岩石破碎，含金硫化物在钻探过程中因硬度较小常被磨碎，并被泥浆带出钻孔，导致矿化段样品被严重贫化，从而失去探矿价值。应注意施工方法及管理，尽可能地以坑道作为这类矿体的首选勘探手段，慎用“以钻代坑”。

四川冕宁稀土矿床碳酸岩PGE地球化学初步研究

报道了四川冕宁稀土矿床碳酸岩7件样品的PGE和Au含量分析结果，其含量（WB／10^-9）范围分别为Ir0．5～0．78，Ru 1．61～6．75，Rh 0．08～0．14，Pt 2．62～12．15，Pd 1．11γ3．65和Au1．24～8．61。原始地幔标准化的PGE模式呈Ru、Pt、Pd相对富集和Ir、Rh相对亏损的“燕子型”。分析认为，碳酸岩具有一定携带PGE的能力；本区碳酸岩具“燕子型”PGE配分模式可能是其源区地幔PGE配分模式的反演；深源富CO2流体交代作用原始地幔可能是形成其“燕子型”PGE配分模式主要因素。

Reversible regeneration of molybdenum carbonyl species on an alumina thin film

The thin alumina film-supported metallic molybdenum model catalyst was prepared by thermal decomposition of MO(CO)6, and CO chemisorption on the catalyst was investigated in-situ by thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results showed that a molybdenum-carbonyl-like species was formed on the alumina surface at low temperature by high coordination of CO with the surface metallic molybdenum nanoparticles, indicating a reversible regeneration of molybdenum carbonyl on the alumina surface. CO chemisorption on the model catalyst surface caused the Mo 3d XPS peak to shift toward higher binding energy. The formed molybdenum carbonyl species appeared at about 240 K in the TDS. The supported metallic molybdenum nanoparticles were quite different from the bulk molybdenum in chemical properties, which indicated a prominent particle-size effect of the clusters.

Reaction path for oxidation of ethylene to acetic acid over Pd/WO3-ZrO2 in the presence of water

Pd-supported on WO3-ZrO2 (W/Zr atomic ratio=0.2) calcined at 1073 K was found to be highly active and selective for gas-phase oxidation of ethylene to acetic acid in the presence of water at 423 K and 0.6 MPa. Contact time dependence demonstrated that acetic acid is formed via acetaldehyde formed by a Wacker-type reaction, not through ethanol by hydration of ethylene.

High speed optical communication systems: From modulation formats to radically new fibres

High volumes of data traffic along with bandwidth hungry applications, such as cloud computing and video on demand, is driving the core optical communication links closer and closer to their maximum capacity. The research community has clearly identifying the coming approach of the nonlinear Shannon limit for standard single mode fibre [1,2]. It is in this context that the work on modulation formats, contained in Chapter 3 of this thesis, was undertaken. The work investigates the proposed energy-efficient four-dimensional modulation formats. The work begins by studying a new visualisation technique for four dimensional modulation formats, akin to constellation diagrams. The work then carries out one of the first implementations of one such modulation format, polarisation-switched quadrature phase-shift keying (PS-QPSK). This thesis also studies two potential next-generation fibres, few-mode and hollow-core photonic band-gap fibre. Chapter 4 studies ways to experimentally quantify the nonlinearities in few-mode fibre and assess the potential benefits and limitations of such fibres. It carries out detailed experiments to measure the effects of stimulated Brillouin scattering, self-phase modulation and four-wave mixing and compares the results to numerical models, along with capacity limit calculations. Chapter 5 investigates hollow-core photonic band-gap fibre, where such fibres are predicted to have a low-loss minima at a wavelength of 2μm. To benefit from this potential low loss window requires the development of telecoms grade subsystems and components. The chapter will outline some of the development and characterisation of these components. The world's first wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) subsystem directly implemented at 2μm is presented along with WDM transmission over hollow-core photonic band-gap fibre at 2μm. Gender differences in the risk of HIV infection among persons reporting abstinence, monogamy, and multiple sexual partners in northern Tanzania.

BACKGROUND: Monogamy, together with abstinence, partner reduction, and condom use, is widely advocated as a key behavioral strategy to prevent HIV infection in sub-Saharan Africa. We examined the association between the number of sexual partners and the risk of HIV seropositivity among men and women presenting for HIV voluntary counseling and testing (VCT) in northern Tanzania. METHODOLOGY/ PRINCIPAL FINDINGS: Clients presenting for HIV VCT at a community-based AIDS service organization in Moshi, Tanzania were surveyed between November 2003 and December 2007. Data on sociodemographic characteristics, reasons for testing, sexual behaviors, and symptoms were collected. Men and women were categorized by number of lifetime sexual partners, and rates of seropositivity were reported by category. Factors associated with HIV seropositivity among monogamous males and females were identified by a multivariate logistic regression model. Of 6,549 clients, 3,607 (55%) were female, and the median age was 30 years (IQR 24-40). 939 (25%) females and 293 (10%) males (p<0.0001) were HIV seropositive. Among 1,244 (34%) monogamous females and 423 (14%) monogamous males, the risk of HIV infection was 19% and 4%, respectively (p<0.0001). The risk increased monotonically with additional partners up to 45% (p<0.001) and 15% (p<0.001) for women and men, respectively with 5 or more partners. In multivariate analysis, HIV seropositivity among monogamous women was most strongly associated with age (p<0.0001), lower education (p<0.004), and reporting a partner with other partners (p = 0.015). Only age was a significant risk factor for monogamous men (p = 0.0004). INTERPRETATION: Among women presenting for VCT, the number of partners is strongly associated with rates of seropositivity; however, even women reporting lifetime monogamy have a high risk for HIV infection. Partner reduction should be coupled with efforts to place tools in the hands of sexually active women to reduce their risk of contracting HIV.

El desarrollo de habilidades matemáticas y actividades matemáticas universales. Sus implicaciones en la formación de profesores

En este artículo se expone parte de los productos de la investigación denominada “Habilidades matemáticas y formación de profesores de educación secundaria”, 98-SIBEJ- 03024 y de “Programa de capacitación y actualización para profesores de matemáticas de nivel medio superior en Guerrero”, GUE-2002-C01-4725. Con estos productos y experiencias se estructura un curso corto realizado en Relme 18. Postulamos que el profesor de matemáticas tiene el compromiso de contribuir a la formación matemática de los alumnos, entendida como la que los convierte en ciudadanos cultos, constructivos, comprometidos y capaces de razonar, OCDE (2000). De modo que en este trabajo se analizan habilidades y actividades matemáticas encaminadas a la construcción de un modelo de capacitación permanente de profesores.

Cooperativismo escolar. propuestas didácticas en el contexto de la educación cooperativa

El Modelo Curricular de la República Argentina incluye como uno de sus objetivos prácticas cooperativas en la Educación Secundaria. El presente trabajo desarrolla un proyecto para dar lugar a la estimulación de las habilidades interpersonales a través de actividades para la clase de Matemática correspondiente a la etapa de formalización de estructuras conceptuales-procedimentales, apoyadas en los Pilares del Cooperativismo, con una concepción de Educación para la Libertad, la Justicia y la Solidaridad.
