The Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) technique is an image processing tool to obtain instantaneous velocity measurements during an experiment. The basic principle of PIV analysis is to divide the image into small patches and calculate the locations of the individual patches in consecutive images with the help of cross correlation functions. This paper focuses on the application of the PIV analysis in dynamic centrifuge tests on small scale tunnels in loose, dry sand. Digital images were captured during the application of the earthquake loading on tunnel models using a fast digital camera capable of taking digital images at 1000 frames per second at 1 Megapixel resolution. This paper discusses the effectiveness of the existing methods used to conduct PIV analyses on dynamic centrifuge tests. Results indicate that PIV analysis in dynamic testing requires special measures in order to obtain reasonable deformation data. Nevertheless, it was possible to obtain interesting mechanisms regarding the behaviour of the tunnels from PIV analyses. © 2010 Taylor & Francis Group, London.

In the present investigation of thin aerofoil wakes we compare the global nonlinear dynamics, obtained by direct numerical simulations, to the associated local instability features, derived from linear stability analyses. A given configuration depends on two control parameters: the Reynolds number Re and the adverse pressure gradient m (with m < 0) prevailing at the aerofoil trailing edge. Global instability is found to occur for large enough Re and |m|; the naturally selected frequency is determined by the local absolute frequency prevailing at the trailing edge. © 2010 Springer Science+Business Media B.V.

Most of the manual labor needed to create the geometric building information model (BIM) of an existing facility is spent converting raw point cloud data (PCD) to a BIM description. Automating this process would drastically reduce the modeling cost. Surface extraction from PCD is a fundamental step in this process. Compact modeling of redundant points in PCD as a set of planes leads to smaller file size and fast interactive visualization on cheap hardware. Traditional approaches for smooth surface reconstruction do not explicitly model the sparse scene structure or significantly exploit the redundancy. This paper proposes a method based on sparsity-inducing optimization to address the planar surface extraction problem. Through sparse optimization, points in PCD are segmented according to their embedded linear subspaces. Within each segmented part, plane models can be estimated. Experimental results on a typical noisy PCD demonstrate the effectiveness of the algorithm.

本文对三峡水库大坝至香溪河段所设A、B、C、D、E、F和G等7个站点浮游生物群落DNA进行了RAPD分子生物学研究,并分析了其与水体理化因子的关系。各站点间RAPD研究表明:D和E首先聚到一组,然后与A聚到一起,最后与C聚成一大类;B和F聚成一大类;站点G独自归于一类。而理化因子聚类结果显示:B首先与C聚为一小类,再与D聚到一起,然后与G、F聚成的小类聚为一类,而E与A分别单独归为一类。比较发现,RAPD聚类结果中相距较近的站点在理化因子聚类中显示为相距较远的站点(如站点A、C、D、E之间),而在RAPD

于2006~2007年对杭州西湖浮游藻类的种类及个体丰度进行初步研究,并依据《水和废水监测分析方法》对其水质现状进行了生物学评价。综合生物和理化指标数据,对杭州西湖的水质作一总体评估,并对西湖水中的物种多样性保护及水质的可持续利用提出了建议。共鉴定浮游藻类179种,其中蓝藻25种,隐藻1种,金藻3种,甲藻3种,黄藻5种,裸藻23种,硅藻41种和绿藻78种。分析了杭州西湖浮游藻类的组成和分布的特点,揭示出西湖浮游藻类的种类组成与西湖水质变化之间的关系。结果表明:藻类的组成和分布与水质变化规律基本吻合,西湖水

在对江汉平原钻孔中的化石硅藻进行鉴定时,发现1个新种类:江汉异极藻(新种)Gomphonema jianghanensis sp.nov.,该种的主要特征为:壳面狭披针形或线性披针形,端部和基部圆形,中轴区窄。中心区宽呈横矩形,在紧靠中心区的一侧具1条很短的线纹,另一侧有时有1条很短的线纹,有时没有线纹,无孤点。壳缝呈直线,在中央区附近略弯向一侧,在极节处折向另一侧。线纹轻微放射状,中部略弯曲,在近顶端处没有线纹,在10μm内,中部具6—13条。长20—30μm,宽4—7μm。4个中国新记录属:楔异极藻属

We describe our work on developing a speech recognition system for multi-genre media archives. The high diversity of the data makes this a challenging recognition task, which may benefit from systems trained on a combination of in-domain and out-of-domain data. Working with tandem HMMs, we present Multi-level Adaptive Networks (MLAN), a novel technique for incorporating information from out-of-domain posterior features using deep neural networks. We show that it provides a substantial reduction in WER over other systems, with relative WER reductions of 15% over a PLP baseline, 9% over in-domain tandem features and 8% over the best out-of-domain tandem features. © 2012 IEEE.

在实验室条件下利用放养密度和放养时间构建组间差异,模拟养殖过程中草鱼所面临的拥挤胁迫。胁迫第7、14、30、60d后采样测量免疫指标。结果表明,高密度组(80g·L-1)的血清溶菌酶活性在胁迫后开始升高,并于14d时达峰值,以后逐渐下降,呈倒"U"型趋势。血清杀菌活性随放养密度的剧增而锐减(P<0.005)。白细胞比容在各组间未显示明显差异。而在30d和60d所测的高密度组草鱼的头肾巨噬细胞吞噬百分率和吞噬指数结果显示,高密度组低于对照组(P<0.05)。60d后用嗜水气单胞菌进行攻毒实验,高密度组死亡率

Psychological factors play a major role in exacerbating chronic pain. Effective self-management of pain is often hindered by inaccurate beliefs about the nature of pain which lead to a high degree of emotional reactivity. Probabilistic models of perception state that greater confidence (certainty) in beliefs increases their influence on perception and behavior. In this study, we treat confidence as a metacognitive process dissociable from the content of belief. We hypothesized that confidence is associated with anticipatory activation of areas of the pain matrix involved with top-down modulation of pain. Healthy volunteers rated their beliefs about the emotional distress that experimental pain would cause, and separately rated their level of confidence in this belief. Confidence predicted the influence of anticipation cues on experienced pain. We measured brain activity during anticipation of pain using high-density EEG and used electromagnetic tomography to determine neural substrates of this effect. Confidence correlated with activity in right anterior insula, posterior midcingulate and inferior parietal cortices during the anticipation of pain. Activity in the right anterior insula predicted a greater influence of anticipation cues on pain perception, whereas activity in right inferior parietal cortex predicted a decreased influence of anticipatory cues. The results support probabilistic models of pain perception and suggest that confidence in beliefs is an important determinant of expectancy effects on pain perception.

通过吸附、释放实验研究了河流及湖泊沉积物酸挥发性硫化物对上覆水中重金属元素的影响 .采用兼具Langmuir及Freundlish等温线方程两种方程特征的Sips表达式及无机离子分级交换理论 ,较好地对重金属元素在沉积物或颗粒物上的吸附及释放特征进行了描述 .结果表明 ,存在于水溶液中的重金属可以不断地与沉积物结合 ,从而使水溶液中的重金属浓度维持在一很低的水平上 ;并且 ,一旦与沉积物结合 ,重金属就很难再释放出来 .酸挥发性硫化物的存在增加了沉积物的吸附容量 ,但酸挥发性硫化物经过酸化被除去后 ,沉积
