We report on the preparation conditions of YBa2Cu3O7 polycrystalline superconducting tapes by a sol-gel deposition technique. We present some discussion on the compatibility between the nature of the substrate, the use of a buffer layer, and the conditions used to prepare appropriate superconducting YBa2Cu3O7 materials. We report also on the microstructural characterizations performed in order to evaluate the crystallites size, degree of orientation and connectivity. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

研究并比较了给草鱼和复合四倍体异育银鲫(简称高倍体鲫鱼)单次腹腔注射氯霉素100mg/kg后的药代动力学特征。采用HPLC测定血液中氯霉素的浓度。试验期间水温为(20±2)℃。结果表明,氯霉素在这2种鱼体内的处置过程相似,均可用带一级吸收的二室开放模型进行描述;药物从腹腔吸收迅速,给药后分别在0.92h和0.63h血中浓度达到高峰,无吸收时滞;在草鱼和高倍体鲫鱼体内药物的t12β相近,分别为11.9h和11.1h,但体清除率(ClB)相差较大;氯霉素在高倍体鲫鱼体内比在草鱼体内有更强的亲组织性,总表观分布

用小球藻(Chlorella sp.)为食培养萼花臂尾轮虫(Brachionus calyciflorus),食物浓度约1×10~6cells/mL,温度25℃,光照强度约40001x,昼长比LD=18:6。在1.0mL、0.5mL和0.25mL培养液中同时进行单个体和群体培养。结果发现:1)单个体培养时每个母体平均产卵量分别为12.0,13.8和7.8个;后代个体中混交雌体的百分比分别是46.38%,53.49%和55.83%。2)群体培养时,每个母体平均产卵量分别为8.7、3.1和2.65个,随密度增

<正>我国人口众多,淡水资源相对贫乏,随着工业的发展和城市人口迅速增长,含有各种化学品的工业废水和大量未经处理的城市污水纷纷排入江河、湖泊,造成了许多淡水水源的严重污染。水环境质量的恶化,直接影响了居民饮用水质、渔业养殖与农田灌溉。据推测,到21世纪,淡水资源这个人类赖以生存的基本要素,将会更加缺乏,最终必然成为阻碍我国国民经济发展的首要因素。因此,开展水环境保护的研究工作就我国国情来讲,尤其至关重要。

<正> 近五年来,通过显微注射技术,已将各种克隆基因片段导入了不同种的鱼类受精卵中,目的是探讨培育能稳定遗传外源基因的鱼类新品系的可行性,为鱼类定向育种开辟新途径。已发表的研究报告证明,外源基因导入鱼类受精卵后均可与受体基因组整合,部分实验显示外源基因可以表达,且其表达产物具有生物活性。目前有关检测外源基因表达的实验大多采用放射免疫方法或观察其整体生物学效应。唯有朱作言等利用分子杂交技术在受体胚胎发育的肌肉效

作者对采自长江的三头白鱀豚(Lipotes vexillifer Miller)的脑进行了解剖研究。白鱀豚的脑表现出典型的鲸脑特征。与海洋齿鲸类比较,淡水鲸科的种类普遍呈现出视觉系统的退化,这是一种生态适应的结果。从神经解剖学的观点看来,白鱀豚与亚马逊河海豚(Inia)、拉普拉塔河海豚(Pontoporia)的脑的结构是近似的,而与恒河海豚(Platanista)显著不同,这与骨骼形态上表现出的系统发育关系是一致的。

A symmetry-adapted version of the Maxwell rule appropriate to periodic bar-and-joint frameworks is obtained, and is further extended to body-and-joint systems. The treatment deals with bodies and forces that are replicated in every unit cell, and uses the point group isomorphic to the factor group of the space group of the framework. Explicit expressions are found for the numbers and symmetries of detectable mechanisms and states of self-stress in terms of the numbers and symmetries of framework components. This approach allows detection and characterization of mechanisms and states of self-stress in microscopic and macroscopic materials and meta-materials. Illustrative examples are described. The notion of local isostaticity of periodic frameworks is extended to include point-group symmetry.

White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is a major pathogen in shrimp aquaculture. VP28 is one of the most important envelope proteins of WSSV. In this study, a recombinant antibody library, as single-chain fragment variable (scFv) format, displayed on phage was constructed using mRNA from spleen cells of mice immunized with-full-length VP28 expressed in Escherichia coli. After several rounds of panning, six scFv antibodies specifically binding to the epitopes in the N-terminal, middle, and C-terminal regions of VP28, respectively, were isolated from the library. Using these scFv antibodies as tools, the epitopes in VP28 were located on the envelope of the virion by immuno-electron Microscopy, Neutralization assay with these antibodies in vitro suggested that these epitopes may not be the attachment site of WSSV to host cell receptor. This study provides a new way to investigate the structure and function of the envelope proteins of WSSV. (c) 2008 Published by Elsevier Inc.

Thymidylate synthase (TS), an essential enzyme in DNA synthesis and repair, plays a key role in the events of cell cycle regulation and tumor formation. Here, an investigation was presented about subcellular location and biological function of viral TS from lymphocystis disease virus from China (LCDV-C) in fish cells. Fluorescence microscopy revealed that LCDV-C TS was predominantly localized in the cytoplasm in fish cells. Cell cycle analysis demonstrated that LCDV-C TS promoted cell cycle progression into S and G2/M phase in the constitutive expressed cells. As a result, the cells have a faster growth rate compared with the control cells as revealed by cell growth curves. For foci assay, the TS-expressed cells gave rise to foci 4-5 weeks after incubation. Microscopic examination of the TS-induced foci revealed multilayered growth and crisscross morphology characteristic of transformed cells. Moreover, LCDV-C TS predisposed the transfected cells to acquire an anchorage-independent phenotype and could grow in 0.3% soft agar. So the data reveal LCDV-C TS is sufficient to induce a transformed phenotype in fish cells in vitro and exhibits its potential ability in cell transformation. Immunostimulants are the substances, which enhance the non-specific defence mechanism and provide resistance against the invading pathogenic micro-organism. In order to increase the immunity of shrimps against the WSSV, the methanolic extracts of five different herbal medicinal plants like Cyanodon dactylon, Aegle marmelos, Tinospora cordifolia, Picrorhiza kurooa and Eclipta alba were selected and mixed thoroughly in equal proportion. The mixed extract was supplemented with various concentrations viz. 100 (A), 200 (B), 400 (C), and 800 (D) mg kg(-1) through artificial diets individually. The prepared diets (A-D) were fed individually to WSSV free healthy shrimp Penaeus monodon with an average weight of 8.0 +/- 0.5 g for 25 days. Control diet (E), devoid of herbal extract was also fed to shrimps simultaneously. After 25 days of feeding experiment, the shrimps were challenged with WSSV, which were isolated and propagated from the infected crustaceans. The shrimps succumbed to death within 7 days when fed on no herbal immunostimulant diet (E). Among the different concentrations of herbal immunostimulant supplemented diets, the shrimps fed on diet D (800 mg kg(-1)) significantly (P < 0.0001) had more survival (74%) and reduction in the viral load. Also the better performance of haematological, biochemical and immunological parameters was found in the immunostimulant incorporated diets fed shrimps. The present work revealed that the application of herbal immunostimulants will be effective against shrimp viral pathogenesis and they can be recommended for shrimp culture. In human and animal running spring-like leg behavior is found, and similar concepts have been demonstrated by various robotic systems in the past. In general, a spring-mass model provides self-stabilizing characteristics against external perturbations originated in leg-ground interactions and motor control. Although most of these systems made use of linear spring-like legs. The question addressed in this paper is the influence of leg segmentation (i.e. the use of rotational joint and two limb-segments) to the self-stability of running, as it appears to be a common design principle in nature. This paper shows that, with the leg segmentation, the system is able to perform self-stable running behavior in significantly broader ranges of running speed and control parameters (e.g. control of angle of attack at touchdown, and adjustment of spring stiffness) by exploiting a nonlinear relationship between leg force and leg compression. The concept is investigated by using a two-segment leg model and a robotic platform, which demonstrate the plausibility in the real world. ©2008 IEEE.
