The taxonomy of Brazilian insects vectors of transmissible diseases (1900-2000) - then and now

A brief historical overview is given of the most relevant taxonomic studies of insect groups vectors of transmissible diseases in Brazil, from the "heroic" times of the foundation of the Instituto Oswaldo Cruz in Rio de Janeiro up to the present. The following orders are considered: Phthiraptera (Anoplura, Amblycera and Ischnocera), Hemiptera (Reduviidae: Triatominae), Siphonaptera and Diptera (Culicidae, Ceratopogonidae, Psychodidae: Phlebotominae, Simuliidae, Tabanidae, Chloropidae and Muscidae). The most important Brazilian collections of each group are cited.

Tendencias creativas now. Creatividad española: fórmulas publicitarias premiadas en 2011

El present projecte analitza el panorama creatiu publicitari durant el 2011. El treball proposa l’estudi de les solucions creatives que les agències espanyoles han desenvolupat en un any emmarcat d’un context econòmic, social i mediàtic que sembla ser més “complex” que mai. La finalitat del escrit és disseccionar aquesta fòrmula creativa que pretén vendre més en una conjuntura en la que el descens del consum és protagonista per la presència de la recessió econòmica. Un difícil escenari que provoca la restricció pressupostària dels anunciants i que posa en risc el desenvolupament de l’activitat professional dels mitjans i les agències.

Then and Now: Leadership

The purpose of the “Then and Now” program is to engage these people more actively in the annual meetings and provide a forum for them to engage with those who are following in their footsteps. This purpose allows the missions of the Community of Academy Senior Scholars (CASS) and the Management History (MH) Division to intersect. CASS has as one of its goals to keep these pioneers of management history engaged in their profession and their professional organization (AOM). MH has as one of its goals to accurately record the intellectual contributions of the pioneers of the management field.
