Mémoire de Licence, université de Dalécarlie Les rapports hommes-femmes dans Les Liaisons dangereuses de Choderlos de Laclos

Ce mémoire a pour but de faire une analyse du roman de Choderlos de Laclos Les Liaisons dangereuses et de répondre à quatre questions primordiales, à savoir : -Quelle représentation de l’homme et de la femme apparaît dans le roman de Choderlos de Laclos et quelle est la nature des relations entre les personnages des deux sexes ? - S’agit-il d’une condamnation ou d’une illustration du libertinage ? -Quels ont été les effets moraux de ce livre sur la société du XVIIIème siècle ? -Quelle était l’attitude de l’auteur par rapport aux femmes ? Afin de répondre à ces quatre questions primordiales, nous avons décidé de faire une analyse du roman, mais aussi de nous intéresser à la sociologie de la littérature et plus exactement sur l’horizon d’attente et la réception de l’oeuvre. Nous avons aussi utilisé la correspondance écrite entre Choderlos de Laclos et Mme Riccoboni afin d’établir l’attitude de l’auteur par rapport aux femmes. Pour conclure, nous démontrerons que l’auteur était en avance sur son temps et n’était aucunement misogyne et oeuvrait pour l’amélioration de éducation des femmes.

Book Synopsis: From Terra Nullius to Land of Opportunities and Last Frontier, the European dream has constructed and deconstructed Australia to feed its imagination of new societies. At the same time Australia has over the last two centuries forged and re-invented its own liaisons with Europe arguably to carve out its identity. From the arts to social sciences, to society itself, a complex dynamic has grown between the two continents in ways that invite study and discussion. A transnational research group has begun its collective investigation project of which this first volume is the outcome. The book is a substantial multidisciplinary collection of current research and offers critical perspectives on culture, literature and history around themes at the heart of the Imagined Australia project. The essays instigate reflection, discovery and discussion of how reciprocal imagining between Australia and Europe has articulated itself and ways and dimensions in which a relationship between communities, imagined and not, has unfolded.

From garamut to mobile phone: Communication change in rural Papua New Guinea

This article presents the attitudinal response of rural villagers in Papua New Guinea to mobile telephony, based on a threshold study made during the early stages of its adoption. The research indicates that the introduction of mobile telecommunications has generally been viewed positively, with mobile phones affording social interaction with loved ones. Nonetheless, negative concerns have been strongly felt, notably financial costs and anxiety about mobile phones aiding in the coordination of extramarital liaisons and criminal activities. The communities investigated previously had scant access to modern communication technologies, some still using traditional means such as wooden slit drums, known locally as garamuts. The expansion of mobile network coverage has introduced into communal village life the capability to communicate dyadically and privately at a distance. Investigation into the adoption of mobile phones thus promotes understanding about traditional means of communication and notions of public and private interactions.

The central region of meso-3,4-diphenylhexane-2,5-dione

As with 1,2-diphenylethane (dpe), X-ray crystallographic methods measure the central bond in meso-3,4-diphenylhexane-2,5-done (dphd) as significantly shorter than normal for an sp(3)-sp(3) bond. The same methods measure the benzylic (ethane C-Ph) bonds in dphd as unusually long for sp(3)-sp(2) liaisons. Torsional motions of the phenyl rings about the C-Ph bonds have been proposed as the artifacts behind the result of a 'short' central bond in dpe. While a similar explanation can, presumably, hold for the even 'shorter' central bond in dphd, it cannot account for the 'long' C-Ph bonds. The phenyl groups, departing much from regular hexagonal shape, adopt highly skewed conformations with respect to the plane constituted by the four central atoms. It is thought that-the thermal motions of the phenyl rings, conditioned by the potential wells in which they are ensconced in the unit cell, are largely libratory around their normal axes. In what appears to be a straightforward explanation under the 'rigid-body' concept, it appears that these libratory motions of the phenyl rings, that account, at the same time, for the 'short' central bond, are the artifacts behind the 'long' measurement of the C-Ph bonds. These motions could be superimposed on torsional motions analogous to those proposed in the case of dpe. An inspection of the ORTEP diagram from the 298 K data on dphd clearly suggests these possibilities. Supportive evidence for these qualitative explanations from an analysis of the differences between the mean square displacements of C(1) and C(7)/C(1a) and C(7a) based on the 'rigid-body model' is discussed. Extended liaison as an interface between product and process model in assembly

This paper describes the use of liaison to better integrate product model and assembly process model so as to enable sharing of design and assembly process information in a common integrated form and reason about them. Liaison can be viewed as a set, usually a pair, of features in proximity with which process information can be associated. A liaison is defined as a set of geometric entities on the parts being assembled and relations between these geometric entities. Liaisons have been defined for riveting, welding, bolt fastening, screw fastening, adhesive bonding (gluing) and blind fastening processes. The liaison captures process specific information through attributes associated with it. The attributes are associated with process details at varying levels of abstraction. A data structure for liaison has been developed to cluster the attributes of the liaison based on the level of abstraction. As information about the liaisons is not explicitly available in either the part model or the assembly model, algorithms have been developed for extracting liaisons from the assembly model. The use of liaison is proposed to enable both the construction of process model as the product model is fleshed out, as well as maintaining integrity of both product and process models as the inevitable changes happen to both design and the manufacturing environment during the product lifecycle. Ligações perigosas: a família portuguesa, na narrativa curta, durante a Regeneração

Além de discutir as grandes questões da humanidade, como as cisões políticas e as injustiças sociais, os escritores oitocentistas imiscuíram-se nas temáticas do cotidiano, que se ajustaram aos contos à perfeição. A vida doméstica, antes restrita às quatro paredes, passou a ser problematizada nas narrativas curtas de ficção, talhadas para jogar luzes sobre o microcosmo das relações familiares. Objetiva-se, com o presente trabalho, analisar por meio de onze contos pinçados dentre a produção literária de cinco autores de relevância no período conhecido como Regeneração, os conflitos com os quais a família portuguesa se deparou, assim como as saídas possíveis diante das rígidas regras de decoro e civilidade que imperavam naquela sociedade. Por meio do enlace entre história e literatura pretende-se ampliar a compreensão das crenças e valores e a evolução das mentalidades. Ao contribuírem com a formação do público-leitor, atraído pelos dilemas entre a tradição e a inovação, os escritores do século XIX elevaram o romance à sua expressão máxima. Regional Fisheries Advisory Committee Meeting 15th October, 1984

This is the report from the Regional Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 15th October, 1984. The report contains sections on Grass Carp Field Trials in the Lancaster Canal, liaisons with Sea Fisheries Committees, Rivers Leven and Crake migratory fish stocking, and migratory fish stocking policy. The Fisheries Advisory Committee was part of the Regional Water Authorities, in this case the North West Water Authority. This preceded the Environment Agency which came into existence in 1996.
