Enantiospecific total synthesis of ent-5-senceioyloxy-10,11-epoxythapsan-10-ol

Enantiospecific total synthesis of optical antipode of the sesquiterpene 5-senecioyloxy-10,11-epoxythapsan-10-ol has been described. (R)-Carvone has been employed as the chiral starting material and a combination of intramolecular alkyation and Criegee fragmentation are employed for intramolecular stereospecific transfer of the chirality. An intramolecular diazoketone cyclopropanation and regioselective cyclopropane ring cleavage reactions have been employed or the creation of the three requisite contiguous quaternary carbon atoms.

Total synthesis of (-)-ent-pachastrissamine (ent-Jaspine B)

The total synthesis of the enantiomer of the tetrahydrofuran containing natural product Jaspine B is reported. The key reactions in the synthesis include formation of the tetrahydrofuran unit by an acid mediated Williamson etherification and a subsequent elaboration with an olefin cross metathesis reaction. Enantiospecific First Total Synthesis of ent-Allothapsenol

The enantiospecific first total synthesis of the enantiomer of the irregular sesquiterpene from Ligusticumgrayi allothapsenol, starting from the readily available monoterpene (R)-carvone, is described, which confirmed the assumed absolute configuration of the natural product.

An enantiodivergent protocol from R-(-)-carvone: synthesis of dihydroagarofuran sesquiterpenoid 1-deacetoxy-ent-orbiculin A

A strategy for achieving enantiodivergency from R-(-)-carvone in the context of synthesis of eudesmanes and dihydroagarofurans is disclosed, which involves, among other things, sequential setting of the C10 quaternary centre and recreation of the desired C7 isopropyl stereochemistry to enter the antipodal series. This document is a partial translation of taxonomic notes on two Diptera species (Acalcarella Shilova, Acalcarrella nucus) which were abundant in a survey of Tendipedid species (Diptera, Tendipedidae) of the Amu Darya drainage basin. These taxonomic notes of the larva, pupa and adults include drawings of the Acalcarella nucus larva.

Acyclic diterpene alcohols isolated from four algae of Bryopsidophyceae and their toxicity

Three new acylic diterpenoids belonging to the class of phytol series have been isolated. They were obtained from the ethyl acetate soluble fractions of four siphonaceous green seaweeds, Bryopsis pennata Lamour., Caulerpa taxifolia (Vahl) C. Ag., Codium decorticatum (Woodw.) Howe and Valoniopsis pachynema (Mart.) Børg., collected from Karachi coast of Pakistan. Structures of these compounds were elucidated with the help of spectroscopic methods and confirmed by comparison with the known compounds. Even the known compounds are being reported for the first time from a green algal source. All the compounds were found to display a strong toxicity at all the three concentrations tested in the brine shrimp bioassay.

Tetranorclerodanes and clerodane-type diterpene glycosides from Dicranopteris dichotoma

A novel hydroperoxyl substituted cembranolide diterpene from marine soft coral Lobophytum crassum

A new cembranolide diterpene with a hydroperoxyl substitution was isolated from the marine soft coral Lobophytum crassum. The structure was elucidated on the basis of chemical and spectral methods.
