The overall objective of this research is to identify and analyze social representations of (the) teachers(the) Ranciere the Initial Training Program for Teachers in Office in Early Childhood Education - PROINFANTIL - UFRN/MEC on the teaching work, seeking to identify their constituent elements and understand the dynamics of your organization. We assume that these teachers work fundamentally, in the institutions of Early Childhood Education, with knowledge of common sense and related cultural inherent to be/do professor in the design of education guardian/giving handouts to ensure the physical integrity of children, causing a rift between the caring and educating. From this general objective, we elected as specific objectives: identify the social, economic and cultural backgrounds of these (the) teachers (sa); identify what is teaching work for them (the) as well as identify which the psychosocial implications driven by RS on teaching work that point to tensions between the training and the exercise teacher as activity profissional.Como theoretical foundation we opted for Social Representations Theory of Moscovici (2003), Jodelet (2001); Specificities of the teaching Work in Early Childhood Education: Kramer (2002; 2006); OliveiraFormosinho (2007); Zilma de Oliveira (2007), Teacher Training: Ramalho, Nunez and Galthier (2003) and Tardif and Lessard (2008), content Analysis: Bardin (2004). As methodological procedure, we chose the Central Nucleus theory, developed by Jean Claude Abric (2000). Contributed to the scope of this objective the 171 teachers (the) that concluded the Proinfantil NBs to participate of TALP with justifications. The corpus arising from evocations around the words suggested by Carlos Chagas Foundation: give classrooms, teacher, pupil and added the word Child Education, were subjected to a treatment with the aid of the EVOC software (2000), identifying the central nucleus. The results indicate the words more evoked and significant: Planning, child care, educating, and play. Indicating that for these (the) teachers (the) the teaching work in Early Childhood Education must have a systematic pedagogical to educate children. These words correspond to the specificity of being/doing teaching in Early Childhood Education. However, the data shows that it is a job with different characteristics of the teaching work in other stages of education

Immer wieder haben sich im Laufe der Geschichte Erzieher mit der Frage beschäftigt, wie der nachfolgenden Generation die einmal gewonnenen Einsichten und Wahrheiten abendländisch-gesellschaftlichen Lebens und Denkens zu vermitteln seien. Gelang ihnen eine Antwort, wurden sie zu Klassikern der Pädagogik. Auch Bertolt Brecht, der Lehrstückeschreiber, hat sich der Erziehungsproblematik angenommen und es droht ihm dasselbe Schicksal: Er, der einst als „Bürgerschreck“ galt, wird heute in die Schar der Klassiker eingereiht. Wie erklärt sich dieses Phänomen? Der vorliegende Text basiert auf der These, dass schon eine gründliche Analyse eines kleinen Abschnitts aus Brechts Werk eher über das Phänomen Aufschluss geben kann als die extensive Lektüre seiner „Gesammelten Schriften“.(DIPF/Orig.)

Der vorliegende Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit der Frage ob Lenks Modell zur Erfassung von grundsätzlichen Determinanten der LehrerInnenverantwortung, das durch Lauermann und Karabenick übernommen wurde, empirisch gestützt werden kann. Ziel dieses Beitrags ist es, kausale Beziehungen innerhalb dieses Modells mit Hilfe eines Strukturgleichungsmodells zu bewerten. Basierend auf Daten einer norwegischen LehrerInnenuntersuchung ergaben sich deutliche Zusammenhänge zwischen den Elementen des Modells. Relationales Vertrauen, informelles Lernen zwischen den LehrerInnen und wahrgenommene Unterstützung durch SchulleiterInnen haben sich als wichtige Determinanten für die LehrerInnenverantwortung erwiesen, wenngleich die kontextuellen Faktoren in ihrer Eigenart komplexer zu sein scheinen. Es bedarf weiterer Forschung, um diese zu verstehen. Angesichts der Ergebnisse ist zu empfehlen, dass Schulbehörden einen Schwerpunkt auf die Gestaltung einer Politik legen, die die Vertrauensbeziehungen zwischen den LehrerInnen berücksichtigt. O presente documento retrata o trabalho efetuado durante o ano letivo 2011/2012, cujo objetivo é a análise e a reflexão sobre o planeamento, condução e avaliação do ensino de uma turma, da qual fui responsável. Pretende, ainda, refletir sobre o contributo e pertinência das várias ações de promoção para a saúde e atividades de complemento curricular desenvolvidas, assim como a importância do acompanhamento semanal da direção de turma e de um melhor conhecimento da comunidade em que esta está inserida.

Várias são as causas, apontadas por diversos autores e também pelos professores inquiridos neste estudo, para a (des)motivação dos professores (pessoais, pedagógicas, económicas, políticas, administrativas, históricas, massificação e democratização do ensino, etc.) e também para a (in)disciplina dos alunos em contexto de sala de aula (pessoais, familiares, nível sócio-económico, relação com professores, relações com colegas, culturais, raciais, drogas, etc.). Apesar de não serem estatisticamente significativos, os resultados encontrados na presente pesquisa apontam no sentido de não haver relação entre a motivação do professor e a indisciplina dos seus alunos na sala de aula, ficando o estudo em aberto para novas investigações. Esta tendência manifestou-se nas amostras globais do pré-estudo (30 professores) e do estudo (116) e nas subamostras do estudo por tipos de escola (básica e secundária), por cada uma das seis escolas estudadas, por ciclos e anos de escolaridade e por áreas disciplinares. ABSTRACT: There are several causes, mentioned by many authors and also by the teachers inquired in this study, for the (none)motivation of teachers (personal, educational, economic, political, administrative, historical, massification and democratization of education and so on) and also for the (in)discipline of the students in the context of the classroom (personal, family, social economic level, relations with teachers, relations with colleagues, cultural, racial, drugs and so on). Although not statistically significant, the results of this research suggest there is no relation between teacher's motivation and their pupils' indiscipline in the classroom, so the study remains opened for new researches. This trend manifested itself in the global samples of the first study (30 teachers) and the main study (116) and in partial samples of this study for type of school (basic and secondary), for each one of the six studied schools, for cycles and years of schoolarity and for discipline areas.

This paper presents a regional analysis of the effects of educational policies implemented in Spain between 1992 and 2003, focusing specifically on school failure rates. We consider the impact of expenditure per pupil, class size, and pupil-teacher ratio on dropout rates at the end of compulsory education and on the proportion of early school-leavers in the 18-24 year age group. Our results indicate that higher levels of educational expenditure per pupil and lower class sizes and pupil-teacher ratios reduce rates of dropout and early school-leaving (although class-size is not always significant). However, the magnitude of the effects of these variables is small at the average level.

Improving the quality of teaching is an educational priority in Kenya, as in many developing countries. The present paper considers various aspects of in-service education, including views on the effectiveness of in-service, teacher and headteacher priorities in determining in-service needs and the constraints on providing in-service courses. These issues are examined though an empirical study of 30 secondary headteachers and 109 teachers in a district of Kenya. The results show a strong felt need for in-service provision together with a firm belief in the efficacy of in-service in raising pupil achievement. Headteachers had a stronger belief in the need for in-service for their teachers than did the teachers themselves. The priorities of both headteachers and teachers were dominated by the external pressures of the schools, in particular the pressures for curriculum innovation and examination success. The resource constraints on supporting attendance at in-service courses were the major problems facing headteachers. The results reflect the difficulties that responding to an externally driven in-service agenda creates in a context of scarce resources.
