The advent of new advances in mobile computing has changed the manner we do our daily work, even enabling us to perform collaborative activities. However, current groupware approaches do not offer an integrating and efficient solution that jointly tackles the flexibility and heterogeneity inherent to mobility as well as the awareness aspects intrinsic to collaborative environments. Issues related to the diversity of contexts of use are collected under the term plasticity. A great amount of tools have emerged offering a solution to some of these issues, although always focused on individual scenarios. We are working on reusing and specializing some already existing plasticity tools to the groupware design. The aim is to offer the benefits from plasticity and awareness jointly, trying to reach a real collaboration and a deeper understanding of multi-environment groupware scenarios. In particular, this paper presents a conceptual framework aimed at being a reference for the generation of plastic User Interfaces for collaborative environments in a systematic and comprehensive way. Starting from a previous conceptual framework for individual environments, inspired on the model-based approach, we introduce specific components and considerations related to groupware.

Työssä lähdetään olettamuksesta, että organisaation oppiminen on keskeinen menestystekijä ja organisaation elinehtona on pystyä vastaamaan muutoksen tuomiin haasteisiin. Muutokseen vastaaminen puolestaan tarkoittaa sitä, että organisaatio oppii tekemään asioita toisin. Työssä on haettu vastausta sille kuinka käytäntöyhteisöillä voidaan tukea asiantuntijaorganisaation oppimista eräässä IT-alan organisaatiossa. Tuloksena syntynyttä mallia ja organisaation oppimisen käsitteitä tarkastelemalla osoitetaan, että käytäntöyhteisöillä pystytään edistämään asiantuntijaorganisaation oppimista tutkimuskohteena olevassa organisaatiossa. Käytäntöyhteisöissä ihmiset yhdistää aihealue, joka muodostaa yhteisölle yhteisen näkemyksen siitä, mitä yhteisö on ja mitä se tekee. Tiedon jakamiseen motivoi se, että yhteisössä henkilöt pystyvät nostamaan omaa arvostustaan tuomalla oman panoksensa yhteisen edun hyväksi. Mitä enemmän tietoa jaetaan, sitä suuremmaksi tulee yhteisen tiedon määrä, ja sen paremmaksi muodostuu organisaation kyky vastaanottaa uutta tietoa. Kyky vaikuttaa ongelmiin ja nähdä ongelmien taustalla todellisuudessa vaikuttavat asiat ovat keskeinen asia organisaation oppimisessa. Mallissa kuvataan esimerkein, miten uuden tiedon luominen yhteisöissä tapahtuu.

La comunicación que se presenta se refiere a una parte de una investigación mayor sobre la evaluación de la docencia universitaria usando el programa de al asignatura como indicador básico de la misma. Las referencias bibliográficas, presentadas en los programas, se entienden como el nexo con los conocimientos compartidos con la comunidad científica, sus corrientes y escuelas. La investigación que se plantea es la comparación, en los diferentes tipos de estudios, de las referencias bibliográficas de una misma asignatura entre diferentes universidades españolas. Los títulos coincidentes, los años de publicación, la diversidad de tipos de publicaciones (libros, revistas.) son elementos que se han estudiado utilizando tanto técnicas descriptivas como correlaciones entre los valores hallados.

The paper presents how workflow-oriented, single-user Grid portals could be extended to meet the requirements of users with collaborative needs. Through collaborative Grid portals different research and engineering teams would be able to share knowledge and resources. At the same time the workflow concept assures that the shared knowledge and computational capacity is aggregated to achieve the high-level goals of the group. The paper discusses the different issues collaborative support requires from Grid portal environments during the different phases of the workflow-oriented development work. While in the design period the most important task of the portal is to provide consistent and fault tolerant data management, during the workflow execution it must act upon the security framework its back-end Grids are built on.

In the last years, a number of enterprises ¿ each time greater ¿ have perceived the importance of the strategic management of the intellectual capital in its strategic planning. Factors like globalization of the economy and consequent awareness of specialized work value enclosed in organizational processes and routines, awareness of knowledge as factor of distinct production and low cost of data processing nets, point to a growing replacement of physical force for cerebral in our organizations and in our social lives. This work has the objective to analyze how the information technology, in its present stage, may contribute to creation and development of knowledge, or intellectual capital, in the organization of business. We will use for this purpose the methodology proposed by Nonaka and Takeuchi for creation of knowledge in the organizations. The model is based in two basic points: 1) the existence of two types of knowledge, the tacit and the explicit and its several processes of interaction wich generate operational knowledge (internalization), systematic knowledge (combination), shared knowledge (socialization) and conceptual knowledge (externalization); 2) the view that knowledge in principle is individual, belongs to each member of the organization and must be enlarged 'in an organization way'. Considering the characteristics of the methodology used, the proposal is the construction of a knowledge portal in the organization of business, so that it may be used as a tool for helping to create and develop organizational knowledge.

The Social Representation Theory provides subsidies to scientifically analyze what is called common sense, suggesting that thought be given credibility to the individual, from the assignment of logic to it. The Representations allow us to interpret, understand, explain and thus classify information, events and people. In this sense, this study aimed to analyze how social representations of the actors of the intinerant traders who operate in Ponta Negra/RN can be used as an element for tourism planning. To achieve the desired goals, we conducted a qualitative study, from a descriptive study, using methods of data collection the research literature, the technique of free association of words and the questionnaire, applied with 90 intinerant traders who work in Ponta Negra/RN beach. As tools of data analysis were used to analyze literature, and software EVOC and SPHINX. This research has revealed the predominance of people in itinerant male, between 18 and 28 years, with incomplete primary education, no contributors of Previdência Social and working seven days a week. The core elements of representations brings that explain that their knowledge is guided by collectively shared knowledge in the culture of tourism, which is seen as something that brings economics benefits (money) to the society, from the travel and entertainment. The plan represents the forward thinking, based on development plans that seek improvements and organization. The structure and operation of tourism planning in Natal/RN, there were no representation of intinerant traders. It is concluded that understanding the needs of itinerant traders provides grants to developing strategies for the development of tourism. This is achieved from its inclusion in tourism planning, since it enables tourism managers to understand how they are capturing, interpreting and acting on their next reality, since these representations are fundamental in forming opinions and the establishment of individual attitudes and collective. Thus, it is an important theory to be used to subsidize social research with individuals living reality and local needs, but which is the margin of decision-making processes of economic in the Brazil

Este artigo apresenta os resultados da implantação e aplicação da metodologia colaborativa mediada pelo computador desenvolvida com alunos de Prática de Ensino de Biologia da UEM. Apoiando-se na abordagem qualitativa, os dados foram coletados em questionários, documentos e observações, e a análise sobre as ideias, concepções e reflexões dos sujeitos da pesquisa processou-se de acordo com três grupos de elementos formativos para docência construindo a identidade profissional, construção do conhecimento compartilhado e mediação. Concluiu-se que os Alunos-Professores (AP) passaram por significativas mudanças atitudinais com relação ao processo de ensino-aprendizagem e ao papel do professor, na medida em que, ao compreenderem a importância de se valorizar o uso da metodologia colaborativa e do computador, como recurso pedagógico no ensino-aprendizagem de Biologia, contemplando-os na experiência vivida, construíram saberes para a docência.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar a produção científica sobre Plantão Psicológico no Brasil, entre 1997 e 2009, através de pesquisa em bases eletrônicas de dados científicos, utilizando o descritor "plantão psicológico". Obtiveram-se 38 resumos, analisados a partir das seguintes categorias: distribuição, autoria, filiação institucional, fonte, ano, suporte de publicação, população alvo, enfoque teórico, natureza do trabalho e região geográfica do país. Os resultados sugerem que as bases eletrônicas de dados constituem atualmente importante fonte de acesso à produção brasileira sobre Plantão Psicológico. Verifica-se uma prevalência na produção sobre o assunto na Região Sudeste, assim como na utilização da Abordagem Centrada na Pessoa, revelando maior ênfase em pesquisa relacionada à dissertação, com predominância de produção em 2005 e 2006.

Vários autores reconhecem a importância de jogar com regras para o desenvolvimento infantil. Poucos estudos têm analisado a construção de conhecimentos no contexto das interações sociais, em jogos específicos. O presente estudo documentou as mudanças no desempenho de crianças pré-escolares jogando dominó, considerando: o seguimento das regras do jogo, o domínio dos conceitos implícitos nelas e as interações entre os participantes. Ao longo de um ano, vinte pré-escolares jogaram quatro tipos de dominó com dificuldades conceituais crescentes. Apesar de não terem tido experiências prévias com este jogo, o percentual de erros por tipo de dominó foi sempre inferior a doze por cento das jogadas e foram corrigidos em proporção semelhante pelas crianças e pelo pesquisador. As interações propiciaram momentos de transmissão e de construção de conhecimentos compartilhados.

Subject cataloguing consists of a mental operation directly associated with the professional performance. Thus, the subject cataloguer’s daily actions must be observed in order to understand the real context of the informational products that result of the process of subject cataloguing, taking into account that the professional performance and the work context are inseparable. In this perspective, it is necessary that research on subject cataloguing includes questions concerning the nature of the cataloguers’ shared knowledge structure. In this context, this study presents a reflection from the socio-cognitive approach on the activities developed by subject cataloguing professionals.

Media, as contemporary information and communication phenomena, are rarely studied in the field of Information Science field (IS). This article aims to present a reflection on the Media role as information environments that provoke changes in the ecosystem of message creation, information and socially shared knowledge. It points out that the contextualization of informational situations in the media environments facilitates access to information and to knowledge creation, strategically aimed to more efficient mediation possibilities - purpose to be reached by the society and by an entrepreneurial Information Science. IS counts on proper strategies and methodologies for the creation of transversal meta fields of new knowledge for the solution of problems caused by the intersections and social frictions among science, technologies and knowledge, which means an effective contribution of IS to the enhance utilization of media potential.

Humankind today is challenged by numerous threats brought about by the speed and scope of global change dynamics. A concerted and informed approach to solutions is needed to face the severity and magnitude of current development problems. Generating shared knowledge is a key to addressing global challenges. This requires developing the ability to cross multiple borders wherever radically different understandings of issues such as health and environmental sanitation, governance and conflict, livelihood options and globalisation, and natural resources and development exist. Global Change and Sustainable Development presents 36 peer-reviewed articles written by interdisciplinary teams of authors who reflected on results of development-oriented research conducted from 2001 to 2008. Scientific activities were – and continue to be – carried out in partnerships involving people and institutions in the global North, South and East, guided by principles of sustainability. The articles seek to inform solutions for mitigating, or adapting to, the negative impacts of global dynamics in the social, political, ecological, institutional and economic spheres.

Este artículo intenta responder algunos interrogantes sobre la Praxiología Motriz, tales como: ¿qué es?, ¿cuáles son sus conceptos claves? ¿qué aportes ha realizado a la Educación Física? Por último, ahondará en algunas críticas posibles. Teniendo en cuenta que no es mucho lo que se sabe sobre la misma en Argentina y en Latinoamérica, y a pesar de que las menciones, citas y referencias a Parlebas comienzan a multiplicarse en investigaciones, libros, artículos y diseños curriculares, es que se plantea la necesidad de conocer sus postulados básicos para poder acordar o disentir con sus teorías. A partir de esta invitación al conocimiento compartido es que podremos pasar a un debate pendiente sobre una temática que se instala de manera crucial en el hoy de nuestra disciplina. Para ello, se presenta el contexto de aparición de las teorías de Parlebas en Francia de los años 60 y los 70, y al estructuralismo como teoría marco. Se intentará mostrar el pasaje de una "Educación Física en migajas" (Parlebas, 1967) hacia la propuesta de una Educación Física estructural y científica. Abordaremos luego algunos conceptos claves, tales como Praxiología motriz, sociomotricidad, comunicación motriz, lógica interna, universales ludomotores. Finalmente se desarrollarán los aportes que ha realizado la Praxiología a la Educación Física, y también cuales son sus puntos débiles o menos claros. Para finalizar, se planteará si es posible la construcción de una Educación Física crítica, progresista y latinoamericana que incorpore a las teorías praxiológicas.
