Carta geológico-geotécnica aplicada ao planejamento urbano da região do Córrego Bertini, município de Americana - SP

This paper focuses on the implementation of a geological and geotechnical mapping to the planning of the region stream Bertini, territorial expansion area of the municipality of Americana (SP), a medium-sized city in the countryside of Sao Paulo state, with great potential for growth industrial and residential. To this end, based on the methodology established by the Institute for Technological Research, the charters geological and geotechnical aimed at exposing the capabilities and limitations of the soil. The analysis of similar soil characteristics such as geology, geomorphology, slope, geotechnical testing and the current use and land cover was possible to recognize four geotechinical units. The units I and III are related to areas of top and concave and convex parts of the study area, shown to be sites of low occupancy restriction. However the units II and IV, respectively allocated in the floodplain of the Piracicaba River and the banks of the stream Bertini and some of its drainage, showed a more restricted area due to proximity to water bodies and drainages that offer higher slopes.

Fishlocks at Salto Grande Reservoir. Considerations about its functioning. The Salto Grande dam, has in its structure two Borland type fishlocks. The fish passage efficiency is low, and it is limited by the original system design, the management of the dam and the Uruguay river hidrology. Thus, in the 1984-1986 period, on annual average, the fishlocks were out of service 53 o/o of the time, while in the two periods when higher observed fish accumulation occur, march-april and september-october, the passages were closed 72 o/o and 54 o/o of the time, respectively. Caracterização espectral da água do reservatório de Itupararanga, SP, a partir de imagens hiperespectrais hyperion e análise derivativa

The current accessibility to hyperspectral images of Hyperion/EO1 orbital sensor has brought new perspectives for studies of aquatic environments for allowing the remote estimative of several optically active constituents (OACs) in water body. The changes in the composition and concentration of OACs cause different patterns of absorption and scattering of electromagnetic radiation, likely to be detected using hyperspectral data. Therefore, an investigation was conducted taking into account the spectral characterization of water of a reservoir intended for public supply (Itupararanga Reservoir), from Hyperion/EO1 images and derivative analysis technique applied to spectral curves generated. Simultaneously to the acquisition of a Hyperion/EO1 image, a field campaign was carried out to collect limnological data in situ in georeferenced points. After radiometric correction of the image, reflectance curves of pixels were extracted for each station and the curves obtained were subjected to the technique of derivative analysis, which revealed features of absorption and scattering mainly associated to the presence of algal pigments. The results obtained show the presence of phytoplankton and algal activity, matching the field observation.
