The objective of this study was to identify the reaction and perception of adolescents in relation to body contact as well as emotional expressions through ballroom dancing. Forty-two adolescents from a public elementary school in the state of São Paulo participated in the study. Data gathering was conducted in groups by filming the ballroom dance class and applying a questionnaire about the experience. The dance experience was observed to provide greater body proximity and demonstration of affection, since part of the participants reported well-being, while others reported being embarrassed by dancing with a partner from the opposite sex. It was concluded that more dance activities related to biopsychosocial development need to be offered at school since ballroom dancing can help in interaction promoting body contact and thus facilitate in the process of interpersonal relations between adolescents.

This paper presents the right all citizens have to dance. It focus on the official orientations which deals with dance as a legitimate content at school briefly discussing the difficulty to implement this content. Among various dance manifestations we highlight Ballroom Dance, its characteristics and benefits. We trace the historical path of Ballroom Dance in Brazil at colleges.

Many studies have shown a variety of benefits that the practice of Ballroom Dancing can bring, such as leisure and entertainment, the release of tension from a stressful routine, improving relationships, expanding social contacts. The rationale of this study is by the need to evaluate a different sphere of life of people involving the structure that is the personality. The man is humanized in contact with other men and the culture it is almost impossible to grow it in isolation, that is, are the social relationships that allow men to become human and her personality structure. The relationship brought about by the ballroom dancing can benefit the development of personality or simply put individuals in situations that provide a greater understanding of yourself, as this activity has characteristics that greatly facilitate social contact between people who practice it as the relationship between gentleman and lady for a dance, the contact with people in different classes, social events where it is practiced and even the music that is danced. This work aimed to be able to identify the type or types, the most common personalities exist in one group of participants in a course of Ballroom, based on the technique of Enneagram developed and disseminated by Gurdjieff, whose characteristic is to divide into nine different personality types. Participants were 42 students of the extent to ballroom dancing. We administered a questionnaire to identify the personality of each participant and then there was a second observation time the behavior of six participants in the class for confirmation of your psychological type to issofoi used a checklist developed by the author. Was also investigated whether there are differences of gender and psychological types who seek more such activity. Introdução – Uma das causas mais prováveis de lesões esportivas está relacionada aos desequilíbrios musculares e a fadiga muscular, que é evidenciada no decorrer de um jogo de futebol, principalmente no final do jogo. Esta pode ser avaliada através da comparação da força de contração máxima antes e após o exercício. A fadiga produzida durante o jogo diminui a força muscular concêntrica e excêntrica de flexores e extensores do joelho podendo aumentar a incidência de lesões. Objetivo - Avaliar o efeito de uma partida sobre o pico de torque funcional e convencional nos músculos isquiotibiais e quadríceps de jogadores de futebol de salão com e sem desequilíbrio muscular. Método – Oito jogadores de futebol de salão do gênero masculino, com idade entre 18 e 24 anos, fizeram três visitas ao laboratório: 1ª foram realizadas a antropometria e adaptação aos equipamentos; 2ª teste máximo no dinamômetro isocinético para determinar a razão do pico de torque funcional e convencional nos músculos isquiotibiais e quadríceps; 3ª idem ao 2ª, após a partida de futebol de salão. Análise estatística – através das médias ± DP dos dados obtidos foi utilizado o teste t para amostras dependentes e o Mann Whitney para comparação do pico de torque antes e após a partida de futebol de salão e para comparação da relação flexor/extensor pré e pós- esforço, respectivamente. Em ambos os testes foram adotado um nível de significância de p < 0,05. Resultados - Não foram encontradas diferenças significantes entre os grupos de atletas com desequilíbrio muscular na perna dominante (GD) e grupo equilíbrio (GE) e para os extensores e flexores do GD e GE nas condições Con60. A dança surgiu desde os primórdios da humanidade, quando os povos mais antigos dançavam, para a chuva e para o sol, para seus Deuses e para as pessoas mortas ou pelo simples fato de se comunicar. A partir do século XV, ela passou a ser executada nos grandes salões dos palácios, e algumas dessas danças são a valsa, o minueto e a quadrilha. Surgiu, então, a Dança de Salão, sendo que, cada região tinha suas danças características. No início do século XX começam as primeiras competições de dança e uma organização e padronização delas, buscando sua inserção nos Jogos Olímpicos. A dança de salão chegou ao Brasil com a Família Real, e após sua popularização, sofreu influência da cultura africana, que deu origem a novas danças, como o maxixe, o samba, o choro, a lambada, o forró entre outros. A dança como esporte chegou ao Brasil há pouco tempo, com a criação da Confederação Brasileira de Dança de Salão. Com essa profissionalização da Dança de Salão e mesmo pelo seu caráter lúdico, hoje, existem muitos praticantes. Este estudo teve a finalidade de fazer um levantamento histórico, que possa contribuir e enriquecer a quantidade de estudos nesta área, além de possibilitar àqueles que buscam a obtenção de informações relevantes sobre a dança de salão.

The need to practice physical activity of any kind grows day by day. People look for studios, clubs, parks, either to practice some kind of sport, gymnastics classes, workout or a good walk. Over the last few years, another option has arived arose, which is a little different from what we are used to see. We are talking about Ballroom Dance, a new alternative for thoses who wants or needs to practice some physical activity but is looking for a different environment. Ballroom Dance is growing, thanks to the media, it has been an effective option for whom seeks to fill her free time and gains benefits such as leisure, satisfaction, health and quality of live, etc. Therefore, the objectives of this study were: investigating the reasons that lead the people to look for classes like Ballroom Dance and identify the degree of satisfaction of these students regarding Ballroom Dance classes. Thirty eight students participated in this study: some came from a dance studio from Rio Claro (SP), some from a gym academy with Ballroom Dance classes from Campo Grande (MS) and some from a Ballroom Dance Program of Unesp, Rio Claro in the community. The participants of both genders, ageing between 18 to 60 years, were enpaped on Ballroom program for at least one month. They answered a questionnaire related to the issue. After analyzing the data it was confirmed that people seeks for Ballroom Dance because they like to dance, they feel pleasure to dance, besides feeling relaxed in the activity and because dancing brought them fun. Regarding the Degree of satisfaction, all of them stated being satisfied with Ballroom Dance.
