El culto a la diosa Isis, de origen egipcio aunque helenizado a partir del dominio macedónico, se expande por el mundo grecorromano hasta abarcar un espacio geográfico muy amplio, como nunca antes había conocido. Los testimonios literarios que se refieren a él en época altoimperial son abundantes y de distinta naturaleza, desde descripciones precisas de elementos clave hasta escritos hostiles por parte de autores cristianos con una intencionalidad muy clara. El análisis pormenorizado de estos textos se antoja necesario si se quiere llegar a conocer el estado en el que se encuentra el culto is��aco en un período como el Alto Imperio.

Radiative rates for E1, E2, M1, and M2 transitions in the Br-like ions Sr IV, Y V, Zr VI, Nb VII, and Mo VIII

Energies and lifetimes are reported for the lowest 375 levels of five Br-like ions, namely SrIV, YV, ZrVI, NbVII, and MoVIII, mostly belonging to the 4s&lt;sup>2</sup>4p⁵, 4s&lt;sup>2</sup>4p⁴4ℓ, 4s4p⁶, 4s&lt;sup>2</sup>4p⁴5ℓ, 4s&lt;sup>2</sup>4p³4d², 4s4p⁵4ℓ, and 4s4p⁵5ℓ configurations. Extensive configuration interaction has been included and the general-purpose relativistic atomic structure package (grasp) has been adopted for the calculations. Additionally, radiative rates are listed among these levels for all E1, E2, M1, and M2 transitions. From a comparison with the measurements, the majority of our energy levels are assessed to be accurate to better than 2%, although discrepancies between theory and experiment for a few are up to 6%. An accuracy assessment of the calculated radiative rates (and lifetimes) is more difficult, because no prior results exist for these ions.

Chemically induced phosphorescence from manganese(II) during the oxidation of various compounds by manganese(III), (IV) break and (VII) in acidic aqueous solutions

Chemiluminescence was observed during the manganese(III), (IV) and (VII) oxidations of sodium tetrahydroborate, sodium dithionite, sodium sulfite and hydrazine sulfate in acidic aqueous solution. From the corrected chemiluminescence spectra, the wavelengths of maximum emission were 689&plusmn;5 and 734&plusmn;5 nm when the reactions were performed in sodium hexametaphosphate and sodium dihydrogenorthophosphate/ orthophosphoric acid environments, respectively. The corrected phosphorescence spectrum of manganese(II) sulfate in a solution of sodium hexametaphosphate at 77 K exhibited two peaks with maxima at 688 and 730 nm. The chemical and spectroscopic evidence presented strongly supported the postulation that the emission was an example of solution-phase chemically induced phosphorescence of manganese(II) thereby, confirming earlier predictions that the chemiluminescence from acidic potassium permanganate reactions originated from an excited manganese(II) species.
