Does companionate love express itself unequally in different organizational forms (private companies, hybrid and non-governmental organizations)?

Although, the word “Love” in organizations is seen as a rare concept, but it has gained importance in management theoretical foundation. This study seeks to explore the companionate love in distinct of organizational forms (Private companies; Social organizations; NGO and IPSS) through interviews. The results propose that it is a tensional concept with a complex dynamic: tension of personal behavior, tension of professional behavior; tension of individual impact and tension of community impact. The love dynamic has common points to all organizations, but its expression depends on the specific form of the organization.

Aquest mòdul ens proporciona la funcionalitat necessària per gestionar tot allò relacionat amb el Servei d’Atenció a l'Usuari. Mirarem d'oferir una visió àmplia basada en el concepte de CRM i en les seves claus d’èxit, així com en la importància de l'organització i de la reestructuració empresarial que se'n deriva. Utilitzarem l'estratègia d’implantació ràpida que proporciona Oracle i descriurem la manera de parametritzar el mòdul Oracle Service amb la finalitat de portar l’estandard a la solució desitjada pel client de manera ràpida i eficaç.

Cultured human fetal astrocytes can be induced by interferon-gamma to express HLA-DR.

Interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) modulates the expression of Class II major histocompatibility antigens (MHC), thus providing a potential regulatory mechanism for local immune reactivity in the context of MHC-restricted antigen presentation. Within the central nervous system (CNS), the expression of MHC Class II antigens has been demonstrated on human reactive astrocytes and glioma cells. In order to investigate the modulation of HLA-DR on normal astrocytes, two cell lines were grown from a 20-week-old fetal brain. In situ none of the fetal brain cells expressed HLA-DR as determined by immunohistology on frozen tissue sections. The two cell lines, FB I and FB II, expressed GFAP indicating their astrocytic origin. FB I was HLA-DR negative at the first tissue culture passages, but could be induced to express HLA-DR when treated with 500 U/ml IFN-gamma. FB II was spontaneously HLA-DR positive in the early passages, lost the expression of this antigen after 11 passages and could also be induced to express HLA-DR by IFN-gamma. The induction of HLA-DR expression was demonstrated both by a binding RIA and by immunoprecipitation using a monoclonal antibody (MAB) directed against a monomorphic determinant of HLA-DR. The HLA-DR alloantigens were determined on FB II cells after IFN-gamma treatment, by immunofluorescence and by cytotoxicity assays, and were shown to be DR4, DR6, Drw52, DRw53 and DQwl. These results show that human fetal astrocytes can be induced to express HLA-DR by IFN-gamma in vitro and support the concept that astrocytes may function as antigen-presenting cells.

Human effector CD8+ T lymphocytes express TLR3 as a functional coreceptor.

TLR are evolutionarily conserved molecules that play a key role in the initiation of innate antimicrobial immune responses. Through their influence on dendritic cell maturation, these receptors are also thought to indirectly shape the adaptive immune response. However, no data are currently available regarding both TLR expression and function in human CD8+ T cell subsets. We report that a subpopulation of CD8+ T cells, i.e., effector, but neither naive nor central memory cells, constitutively expresses TLR3. Moreover, the ligation of the receptor by a specific agonist in TLR3-expressing CD8+ T cells increased IFN-gamma secretion induced by TCR-dependent and -independent stimulation, without affecting proliferation or specific cytolytic activity. These results thereby suggest that TLR3 ligands can not only indirectly influence the adaptive immune response through modulation of dendritic cell activation, but also directly increase IFN-gamma production by Ag-specific CD8+ T cells. Altogether, the present work might open new perspectives for the use of TLR ligands as adjuvants for immunotherapy.

Peripheral T cells undergoing superantigen-induced apoptosis in vivo express B220 and upregulate Fas and Fas ligand.

Staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB) is a bacterial superantigen (SAg) that predominantly interacts with V(beta)8+ T cells. In vivo treatment of mice with SEB leads to an initial increase in the percentage of V(beta)8+ T cells, followed by a decrease in the numbers of these cells, eventually reaching lower levels than those found before treatment with the SAg. This decrease is due to apoptosis of the SEB-responding cells. In the present study, we use the distinct light scattering characteristics of apoptotic cells to characterize T cells that are being deleted in response to SEB in vivo. We show that dying, SEB-reactive T cells express high levels of Fas and Fas ligand (Fas-L), which are implicated in apoptotic cell death. In addition, the B cell marker B220 is upregulated on apoptotic cells. Moreover, we show that the generation of cells with an apoptotic phenotype is severely impaired in response to SEB in functional Fas-L-deficient mutant gld mice, confirming the role of the Fas pathway in SAg mediated peripheral deletion in vivo.

« Difficile, c'est le mot » : paysage et métriques géographiques dans "Les Passagers du Roissy-Express" de François Maspero

Associant les éléments d'une théorie du paysage et des notions géographiques telles que la métrique, le capital spatial et la mobilité, cet article s'intéresse à un petit voyage en banlieue parisienne, effectué par François Maspero et Anaïk Frantz l'année du bicentenaire de la Révolution française. Les deux amis, le plus souvent, se déplacent à pied. Mais il leur arrive aussi d'emprunter une voiture ou les transports publics. Alors, confrontés à la métropolisation de l'espace urbain et à "la démesure scalaire des infrastructures", ils tâchent de composer avec un certain nombre de lacunes paysagères.

Construcció i explotació d'un magatzem de dades per a l'anàlisi estadístic dels resultats del Campionat de Fórmula 1

En els darrers anys les organitzacions han anat agafant consciència de la importància de la gestió de la seva informació. D'aquesta necessitat d'organitzar les pròpies dades d'una forma coherent i eficient per al seu anàlisi sorgeixen els magatzems de dades. El projecte "Construcció i explotació d'un magatzem de dades per a l'anàlisi estadístic dels resultats del Campionat de Fórmula 1" s'emmarca dins aquest context i te com a objectiu el disseny d'un magatzem de dades per a cobrir les necessitats del Institut Català d'Esports de Motor (ICEM) en la gestió de les seves dades referents a la Fórmula 1. En aquest projecte s'han executat les diferents fases necessàries per a la creació d'un nou magatzem. En primer lloc s'ha fet l'anàlisi de requeriments i de les dades disponibles. A continuació s'ha fet el disseny i la implementació física del magatzem de dades. Seguidament s'ha procedit amb l'extracció, transformació i càrrega de dades originals (ETL) i per finalitzar s'han creat els informes. Com a resultat s'han obtingut una sèrie d'informes per a ser consumits de manera immediata pels usuaris del ICEM. Aquests informes han de permetre l'anàlisi de les dades d'una forma senzilla i àgil. A més s'ha implementat un sistema d'actualització automàtic de les dades que per al manteniment de la informació del magatzem.La implementació del magatzem de dades s'ha fet sobre una base de dades Oracle 10g Express Edition i els informes s'ha dissenyat amb l'eina Oracle Discoverer. Per a l'automatització de les dades s'ha fet servir a més visual basic script i l'eina de càrrega SQL*Loader.

The Quest for the Oracle Birds: Researching the Chinese Community in Colonial Mexico (1565-1700)

The Asian Diaspora in the Americas in the 16th and 17th has been neglected by scholars for a long time. This fact is baffling, not only for the great interest of this topic in of itself, but also because it could provide new knowledge of colonial Mexico, especially in terms of the interaction among the many groups that populated the colony. This early movement of people and ideas across the largest extension of water in the planet is characteristic of what has been called the ¿archaic globalization,¿ and thus research on these matters could contribute to the history of globalization.In this presentation, I seek to further elaborate on the themes outlined by Edward Slack in The Chinos in New Spain: A Corrective Lens for a Distorted Image, an article published in 2009 in the Journal of World History. Firstly, I would like to bring forth some evidence that indicates that Asian religious practices were present in Mexico in the 1600s. Furthermore, I will argue that the traces of these practices are still visible today, in the form of a popular fortune-telling tradition. Secondly, I intend to provide some information about the arrival, settlement and distribution of the Asian Diaspora. I will focus on their distribution within Mexico City. Thirdly, I will elaborate on their occupations, social status and daily life, as well as in the patterns in marriages and relations with other groups. And lastly, I will show how the guild of barbers served as an Asian immigrant reception network.
