Low-cost, scalable optical packet switching networks with multi-wavelength labels

We propose a self-forwarding packet-switched optical network with bit-parallel multi-wavelength labels. We experimentally demonstrate transmission of variable-length optical packets over 80 km of fiber and switching over a 1×4 multistage switch with two stages. © 2007 Optical Society of America.

Estimating labels from label proportions

Consider the following problem: given sets of unlabeled observations, each set with known label proportions, predict the labels of another set of observations, also with known label proportions. This problem appears in areas like e-commerce, spam filtering and improper content detection. We present consistent estimators which can reconstruct the correct labels with high probability in a uniform convergence sense. Experiments show that our method works well in practice. Fast low-cost FIR filter processed ECDM labels for optical label switching

A code-label recognition time of less than 500ps is demonstrated using low-cost FIRfilters. The electronically-processed label provides a control signal from an auto-correlated label. Nanoscale-enhanced Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) electrochemiluminescence labels and related aptamer-based biosensing system

A unique multilabeling at a single-site protocol of the Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) electrochemiluminescence (ECL) system is proposed. Nanoparticles (NPs) were used as assembly substrates to enrich ECL co-reactants of Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) to construct nanoscale-enhanced ECL labels. Two different kinds of NP substrates [including semiconductor NPs (CdTe) and noble metal NPs (gold)] capped with 2-(dimethylamino)ethanethiol (DMAET) [a tertiary amine derivative which is believed to be one of the most efficient of co-reactants of the Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) system] were synthesized through a simple one-pot synthesis method in aqueous media.

Synthesis and characterization of two novel [Ru(bpy)(2)(phen)](2+)-based electrochemiluminescent labels

Two novel electrochemiluminescent labels, bis(2,2'-bipyridine)[5-(3-carboxylic acid-propionamido)1,10-phenanthroline]ruthenium(II) hexafluorophosphate dihydrate and bis(2,2'-bipyridine)[5-(4-carboxylic acid-butanamido)-1,10-phenanthroline]ruthenium(II) hexafluorophosphate dihydrate, were synthesized and confirmed by IRelemental analysis, and H-1-NMR spectra were completely assigned using the (HH)-H-1-H-1 COSY technique. Cyclic voltammograms with different scan rates showed quasireversible electrochemical behaviour of the two Ru (II) complex labels in MeCN solution. Electronic absorption, photoluminescence and electrochemiluminescence of Ru(II) complexes were also characterized. Copyright (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
